Specialties
Dr. Scroggs is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in corneal diseases and transplantation. He is also a board-certified pathologist and has been involved in research throughout his career.
History
Established in 2001.
Having worked in large universities, Dr. Scroggs and his partner James Bryan, MD wanted to provide a more personal hometown feel for their patients. So in 2001, the two joined together and opened their own private practice that was located on E. Franklin Street. A few years later, they moved out of the two exam room clinic along with their four employees to the current Boyd Hall Building location on Vilcom Center Drive. Carolina Ophthalmology Associates has grown into seven exam rooms, an expanded optical shop, a laser suite and 14 employees. The physicians have been careful to balance growth without compensating the patients’ personal experience.
