This is a real class act! I have seen Ginger at several folk art shows in Atlanta, and at her home in chapel Hill. She is very knowledgeable and is very generous with it. Her prices are reasonable and is picky about what she sells, no schlock here!

I visited the Ginger Young Gallery with a few of my coworkers last summer, as helping select and buy art is part of my job. Ginger runs the gallery out of her home in Chapel Hill, which itself is very artsy and creative. What an incredible collection of self-taught art she has. We ended up settling on paintings by Jimmy Lee Sudduth and Sybil Gibson, but there are also pieces from Howard Finster, Nellie Mae Rowe, and tons of other Southern outsider artists. Ginger is very friendly and possesses an incredible knowledge of folk art. You can haggle if you like, but don’t expect it to get you very far — prices are already reasonable and therefore fairly firm. Also note that you have to call to schedule an appointment to check out her collection, although she does take orders on her website, as well.
