Business Owner

Susan has a background in engineering and an advanced degree in gerontology. She founded CareGIving Technologies in order to help the 90+% of older adults who want to «age in place».

After moving her parents to North Carolina 10 years ago, she realized how important it was for them to remain independent. But maintaining a connection is also important, for her parent’s safety and her peace of mind. CareGiving Technologies is the way to have both.

Using unobtrusive activity sensors, her parents go about their daily activities and she only gets notified if something «out of the ordinary «happens. Missed medication, lack of activity and falls would be significant events that could be communicated without a phone call or email, allowing her parents to determine who gets the information so they can maintain their freedom and safety simultaneously.
