Specialties
Bodhisattva Bodywork was created to assist persons suffering from physical, mental, and/or emotional trauma. Licensed massage and bodywork therapist Anna Sanders draws on her years of experience in working in law enforcement and as a Buddhist practitioner to create a safe, respectful container for recovery. Tools include: Swedish massage, neuromuscular massage, prenatal massage, and deep tissue massage; reiki; cranio-sacral therapy; Physio-Spiritual Etheric Bodywork (PSEB); Somatic Experiencing (SE); and guided meditation.
History
Established in 2013.
During my years as an Alaska State Trooper Investigator, I worked with many men, women, and children who were the victims of violent crime. Many of our clients felt unsafe, insecure, shattered, and the limited amount of talk therapy some were fortunate enough to receive often wasn’t enough. I wanted to help them rebuild themselves into secure, independent, body-confident beings, but didn’t know how.
I traveled for a time, clearing and processing my own traumas. Some of the tools I learned and used were reiki, cranio-sacral therapy (CST), Physio-Spiritual Etheric Bodywork (PSEB), massage, and meditation.
After becoming a licensed massage therapist in 2000, and relocating to the Triangle area of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill in North Carolina in 2013, I realized that these same tools would be beneficial for others. Thus, Bodhisattva Bodywork was born.
