Alessandra Ritter, DDS MS

Dr. Ritter gave me a root canal. So, no, we’re not exactly best friends. But she’s a great special dentist (dental specialist?) and I want to Unilocal her praises. First off, her availability is awesome. I was able to schedule my consultation within just a few days of knowing I needed one. And I actually landed a next-​day appointment for the procedure thanks to a cancellation. And there never seems to be an interminable wait for her services (I say this following a visit to the gyno last week, where the offices were: freezing: and you could find my bare bum waiting «patiently» under a paper towel with an old issue of US Weekly for over thirty minutes). Ahem. Anyway, Dr. Ritter is so kind and has the most pleasant tone of voice (with a cool accent to boot!). I definitely felt at ease in her hands… yeah, even when they pulled out the pin-​cushion looking thing and started fishing out dozens of scary hooked needles from it.
What was supposed to be one procedure ended up morphing into three because the nerve damage was so extensive. So I underwent:
1) tooth repair
2) root canal
3) permanent sealant
Yowza. That’s 2.5-hours’ worth of having your mouth forcibly propped open, hoping your Novocaine isn’t on the brink of wearing off, and trying to stave off your instinct to swallow. Not fun. But what helped me pony up was knowing that Dr. Ritter and her assistant actually worked through their lunch break to make it happen. My appointment (which was only for a root canal) would have ended around 12:30 or so, but when they found out there was more going on than they suspected, they powered through it instead of breaking it into a separate appointment (which, believe me, would have taken a whole wealth of personal pep talk to get me back for!). Poor Dr. Ritter’s stomach was growling so yeah, I think we both suffered a little bit that day. But really great work, and great people. They even let me hang out with an ice pack and milk things for a while after the appointment.
