An unassuming gravel trailhead on the east side of Stringfellow Road (in between Point Pleasant Drive and Melville Lane) takes you to a gravel and asphalt path that follows a small creek. Some sections of the path may require you to jump over a puddle-​sized waterway.
Various trailheads will spill out into the surrounding Leave-​it-​to-​Beaver suburbs. Rocky Run Stream Valley provides a quiet, cool respite in a wooded area, but it’s not too far from the whooshing cars if you miss them.
I haven’t been to the end yet, but I understand you can walk all the way to Fairfax County Parkway from Stringfellow Road, through this route.
