I called Mendoza off of the(3) good Unilocal reviews. Pros: Identified the problem and showed me the problem with a camera Cons: 1. 2 men came to my house and they did not identify themselves by name. Only one of them had a «Mendoza» label on his shirt, the other was wearing a white undershirt. 2. I showed them the furnace and walked away in the next room and I heard«well that was a douche move», when I came back I asked what they were talking about. The Washington Gas service guy turned off the gas to our furnace because of a safety issue — the exact reason they were there. When I said this, they said«oh that makes sense». Either way, that type of language shouldn’t be used if you’re a professional 3. They didn’t cover up their shoes and tracked dirt around the house 4. Before presenting me with a quote(but he had it on his clipboard and I could see it), he tried convincing me that my outdoor condenser for the A/C was 8 years old. When I told him the unit was just replaced in May and I had paperwork to prove it, he said he must have read the serial number wrong. He then went back out to his truck and presented me with another quote. First quote with the«8 year old unit» = approx $ 5800. New quote = $ 3500 The entire situation was so unprofessional. I will never recommend this company to anybody.

We called Mendoza last week when our A/C stopped working in between heat waves. The woman on the phone was polite and said they would fit us in ASAP. They came the next day(vs. other places I called that basically laughed at me and said they were too busy to make any appointments!). The tech who came, Sebastian, was extremely polite and seemed very knowledgeable. We didn’t end up using them for the repair as we rent and the owner of our house wanted to use her regular guy. She did talk to Sebastian on the phone though and felt he was very responsive and honest. So, I can’t rate their final work, but I definitely got a good impression!

Nothing but positive things to say about my experience. Blew out a capacitor on our A/C unit just as a heat wave is moving in. They were able to get to me the same day, fixed the unit without any sales pressure, and were courteous and polite. Also reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

There’s nothing like finding a reliable, honest and affordable home contractor. Every single employee of Mendoza HVAC I’ve encountered has always displayed these sought after attributes. When the furnace died at my old home in the middle of winter, they arrived promptly and were able to repair a small item rather than replace an entire heating system. When my condenser died(again at the old house) one summer and my brain was cooking like a fried egg, they arrived quickly and fixed what needed to be fixed. I’ve always been satisfied with their prompt service, cleanliness and honesty that I’ve found myself recommending them to friends and family. I’d like to stress their honesty as on the occasions that they’ve come to fix my HVAC system at my homes, they’ve always been willing to share what is being replaced and how they would replace the faulty item. Surprisingly, most times the items they replaced were small things costing just a few dollars and did not require the complete and very expensive replacement of an entire system. They easily could have easily done what other contractors are known to do of selling more expensive work for a simple fix… but this is not the Mendoza way. For their honesty, promptness and attention to detail they have won me as a customer and I’ll forever be a loyal supporter of Mendoza HVAC. Having them at my call(and on my list of most trusted contractors) gives me peace of mind just in case the HVAC at my new house ever needs some TLC or annual maintenance.
