We have had the Invisible Fence installed in our yard since 2013. It is not a foolproof system in that the line is either very easy cut when the lawn is mowed and it does not 100% detain our dogs. We have 2 medium sized dogs, the collars are set to the highest deterrent, and if the dogs see something they want to chase, they run right out of the yard onto a busy neighborhood street.
I’ve contacted Invisible Fence now 2 times, the first time, they raised the deterrent level, and the second time, they have no solution.
I strongly recommend not using Invisible Fence, it is a poor sense of security, and a huge waste of money. Very frustrating.

I am so disappointed in the Invisible Fence product and Clarks Associates. We had a older one installed about 11 or so years ago. Through the years the wire was broken but no big deal the dog, our dog was a inside dog anyways and only out with us. We now have a new one and call Clarks. We were quoted $ 95 dollars for the man to come out and check out the repairs that would be need. Surprise! he charged us $ 145. I knew right there and then this was going to be a mistake to continue with this company and product. My husband agreed with the repairs that would be needed. I had a sour feeling and I should of just called and cancelled everything and gone with the other company that gave us a quote for the complete job, no hidden charges. I found out that we have to buy only batteries from them and they are to last 3 months. GUESS WHAT 2 months and it dead. Its a Sunday and we have no protection for our dog if he’s outside till they mail us a new one. Its gimmick people, that you cannot replacement the batteries but from them. I will NEVER recommend this product to anyone that asks. I am really serious thinking calling the other company and have them put in there fence, at least their batteries last 2 years and then you can buy them anywhere. I knew that I should of listened to the other reviews like Mac J and Ray K

We used Clark for 14 years for our dog, and they were just great. They always offered to have me bring in the collar if I was having issues to save the home visit. They worked with me over the phone when my dog ran through it once and walked me through ‘upping’ the juice. We only had to have the service people come out once in 14 years, and they were friendly and helpful. We still have the fence and plan to re-​activate it for our daughter’s dog.

I had this business out to my house and gave me a quote. I signed up and gave them a deposit. They scheduled three sessions to 1) train the dog and me 2) install the fence 3) review training.
For the first appointment they gave me a window of time of 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM that I needed to be home. They never showed up. After three calls to find out what had happened I got fed up and canceled my order all together. They showed very little respect for my time.
I ended up going with Hidden Fence, and I am so glad. They have a much cheaper system, for me it was a $ 400+ SAVINGS ! ! ! ! 2) The system is much more modern and sophisticated. I was able to get a rechargeable collar, no reoccurring charges for me. The collar is also much smaller and more comfortable for my 5 lb dog. 3) No nonsense. They came and did the install and training in one day. I was surprised how little of my time this took and how quickly my dog has been able to learn this program. He is doing great!

We first installed the Invisible Fence about 10 years ago. Moved residence 6 years ago and installed again. Yes it’s expensive. I can’t recall the price, but I was taken aback. There is a continuing cost with the batteries. They last longer than the company says you need them, so you can buy less than they say. We currently have three dogs and a cat on the collars and we have two batteries on the service plan.
We have had about 6 – 7 dogs over the 10 years and all have trained to the fence without problem. We’ve had 2 or 3 fence «breaks» over the years. They were attributable to the fence power being turned off or the collars getting too loose. As somebody who was always chasing the dogs through the neighborhood and who lost one dog to a truck, it’s been a great product.
Being able to let the dog freely roam the yard and know they aren’t going anywhere is a great relief.
Clark Assoc.‘s people have been polite and helpful. We recently had an intermittent alarm and the service guy spent about two hours tracking down the spot in the garden where the rubberized wire had been cut and was almost severed. He persisted long after I said it was okay and he could leave.
