Fairfield Inn & Suites Dulles Airport Chantilly

Coffee was great!!! Rooms were spacious and price was very reasonable. The breakfast buffet area is small.

The reason I give it four stars is because this hotel is cost effective to us. We have three adults and one baby living in one guest room with two queen beds and one pack n play offered by the hotel. The pack n play doesn’t work well so my baby slept on the bed. The bathroom may be clean but is not shiny. Generally, the hygiene is ok. The breakfast is great. They serve eggs, sausage patties, Ham, etc. $ 65 a night for four people with breakfast and free parking. It’s a good deal.

Enjoyed the stay and breakfast. Staff helpful but the hot tub was not hot or even warm. The front desk said the temps were countries offsite? Hmm.
Room service was attentive. Room was clean.

If you want to be able to sleep, make certain you get a room facing the woods in the rear of the hotel. Road noise from US 50 was about the worst I have ever experienced. After one sleepless night, front desk honored my request to move to another room in the back and that one was very quiet. Bed was not very comfortable which was unexpected. Other Marriott properties have much better beds. Breakfast offering was sub standard and the room was always crowded with people who appear to love free food. I never ate anything there. Very difficult to reach the hotel if you are coming northbound on VA 28; you can’t make a left turn at the light when coming off that ramp. Parking lot is cramped. Lot’s of other choices in the area (and this was not the cheapest) so I won’t be going back here.

Definitely not up to the Marriott standard. We arrived at the hotel at 3:45 pm and left the following morning on the 5:30 am shuttle to Dulles airport. I had reserved two rooms-​1 of the rooms was paid for with my Marriott points and the other that included the fly and park was paid for with my credit card. Flight was delayed and I received a text message from my credit card company that the Fairfield Inn has charged $ 20 online to my credit card. This was charged 3 hours after our check out, Called the Fairfield Inn and the woman who answered the phone told me that this SOP and would be reimbursed within 5 – 7 business days if no charges had been incurred. I am a Gold member of the Marriott and have approximately 400,000 reward points. When doing international travel, I usually stay at the Fairfield Inn in Sterling for the fly and park and the staff there is wonderful. A few days later I replied to a Marriott survey regarding my stay at the Fairfield Inn and did not rate them too good. I then received an e-​mail from the manager and I replied that the beds were not up to Marriott standards, the $ 20 charge that I did not appreciate and that I usually stay at the Renaissance Hotel, the Ritz or when In New Orleans we stay at the Saint –all Marriott hotels and I have never had to give a deposit and the beds are comfortable. Manager told me he would give me 5,000 extra points for the inconvenience-​after two weeks of not getting the 5,000 points and not getting credit tor the stay that was paid for, I filed a complaint with the Marriott customer service – they were rude and could have cared less. This is a hotel that I will avoid from now on and when doing international travel will stay at the Fairfield in Sterling where they have a great staff.

Bugs in bathtub. Whole hotel smells like gym socks. Terrible breakfast. Stay elsewhere!

Kinda tucked away. Not much parking. No problems w/​check-​in/​out. Room took FOREVER to cool off. I almost asked to switch rooms, because I wasn’t sure the AC was actually working.
Basic room/​stay.

The light fixture by the bed did not work. There was no lotion. Shampoo and conditioner were Pantene. Don’t they contain methylchloroisothiazolinone?
Breakfast — eggs did not taste right. I think those are made with carton of egg beaters?
I have seen someone paid $ 55? I have paid a double with the AAA discount. I want my money back. Glad that I only stay there one night.

We stayed in this hotel once for a business trip for a week. My opinion might be slightly more negative than the others in my party, but they initially gave me a room that smelled horrible. Even if I could get used to the smell, I didn’t want my clothes to smell like that, so I asked to be moved. The only room they had available (not their fault) was a handicap accessible room. Everything in the room was fine, except for the shower not having any way to block off water run off. I understand it has to be ready for a wheelchair to roll in, but the amount of water that ran all over the bathroom couldn’t be good for anyone. I had to lay down several towels to wipe it all up so I wouldn’t get electrocuted from the amount of water on the floor while drying my hair. I’m sure someone in a wheelchair wouldn’t be able to wipe up the water as easily. I will say that the hairdryer was amazing somehow, the breakfast was good, and I liked that they had granola bars there to take as a midmorning snack. The breakfast attendant was also the friendliest I’ve come across, coming around the room to make sure you don’t need anything, clearing your plates, and offering water.

Had no major issues with the check-​in to check-​out. The staff were nice and I enjoyed the two nights that I stayed there. Two complains that I have:
Parking: When I pulled up late on the 2^nd nite, there was no parking left… and one truck with a trailer decided to take up 8 spaces… They need to open up more parking spaces or inform the customers to mark in the other Marriotts branded hotel parking lot
Breakfast Area: The table area was okay… where they keep food area was too small and cramp… only few people can be in there at one time… they should replace this to the table table and make more spacier so it’s less congested and flows smoothly.

Got a booking from Expedia for 108.00. Based on the price, I’m impressed with this hotel. It has very clearly been recently renovated. The staff is friendly and accommodating (allowed me to check in 4 hours prior to the scheduled check-​in time). Rooms are sized nicely and include both a fridge and a microwave. Bathroom appliances have been updated. A complimentary breakfast is served from 6−9…Personally, I’m not a morning person so hearing it end at 9 instead of the typical 1030 was a bit of a disappointment.

Very modern and funky design throughout the building and in the rooms. The furniture in the rooms is all one unit, and there is no place to put your suitcase but on the floor. Not even a suitcase rack or anything! They put us near the elevator and ice machine and had to listen to it ALL night, plus the occasional airplane take off as well. If we hadn’t gotten in so late to begin with I probably would have asked to move rooms but decided to tough it out. But the noise was constant — even the air conditioner wasn’t able to dull it out. Beds were nice though, good mattresses and lots of pillows. Breakfast bar good — waffles, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, bread, bagels, hard boiled eggs, fruit. It makes me crazy when places like this put TV’s on the walls so that you can see the morning news, but they don’t turn on the closed captioning! The TV does us no good if we can’t hear it or at least read what is happening! Oh, and if you want a paper you have to find it out in the lobby not in breakfast area. On the up side they did keep the food well stocked.

For the cost ($ 55, with taxes inclusive, on a third party site), my family’s weekend stay here at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Dulles Airport Chantilly was reasonable. However, there are a number of factors that result in the dropping of the star rating. Hopefully it gives you an idea of what to expect.
Negatives:
— Communication between staff members is atrocious. We had a specific request that I called the hotel for 3 days in advance, and the woman I spoke to promised that she would note the reservations. I arrived at the hotel without any mention, and of course, they botched the request.
— The Chantilly area can get very humid during the summer. The AC unit does a terrific job of making the room feel like you are in a cold sauna. It’s strange. The room could be freezing, but it’s humid as heck. Uncomfortable at best.
Positives:
— The continental breakfast provided a reasonable selection of fresh, and prepared foods. I’m a bit of a continental breakfast snob, and this one was good for what you were paying. It’s not the carb fest that many free breakfasts are.
— Location is close to good dining, and the Dulles airport.

Place is not bad, very quiet, room was spacious. There was dirt on one of the walls, when I mentioned it to the front desk I was offered to have my room changed but I declined asking for someone to just wipe the wall down. No one ever came to wipe the dirt off the wall. Our bathroom shower curtain was also bent. Overall I can’t complain about the place. May or may not be back.

Not a bad hotel at all. I was absolutely won over with the complimentary breakfast and the very friendly staff!
Some hotels have cereal and toast and call it a day. Not this place. How about waffles, eggs, sausage, bagels, toast, bacon, hard boiled eggs! Seriously! Hard boiled eggs… NOM NOM NOMMERS is all I have to say about that.
The location is convenient, the hotel is clean, there is an indoor pool, you get free breakfast…
Would I have liked for there to be a bar in the hotel? Abso-​Freakin-​Lutely. Probably best that there wasn’t though since this was a business trip.

I accidentally got on the wrong airport shuttle, heading to this hotel rather than the nearby sterling location. when I realized my mistake the shuttle driver was really nice about it, and had no problem driving me all the way back to the airport. He didn’t have to do that, and it was definitely appreciated by this exhausted confused traveler!

We booked the hotel last minute and stayed 1 night. They allowed us to check in late (12:30 a.m.). The front desk staff seemed nice enough, not rude or super friendly, but courteous. Our room was on the first floor and it was perfectly acceptable. You can tell the hotel has been updated, but there were certainly things they «skimped» on. For instance, the bed, linens, curtains, etc. seemed newer, but the desk and chair in the room (and in the lobby) were quite worn and would have chunks, yes, chunks of material or wood torn.
The hotel did have a hot continental breakfast with a waffle maker, bagels, muffins, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, cereal, and more. The OJ was really watered down, but everything else we had there was good.
Overall, our stay was good and it would be a place we’d stay again.

This is my other choice whenever I am in town. Staff are super friendly and rooms are always clean.

Although this was a good priced hotel, their suites were so tiny and cramped.
The management had no problem scolding an employee in front of guests. The management also talked about other workers in loud voices. It made us, as guest, VERY uncomfortable. We just felt sorry for the poor girl being chastised.
The interior design of the place was so out-​dated, and the entire hotel smelled «old».
We will never go back to stay there.

I was pretty impressed with this hotel since it was a Fairfield Inn.
The hotel has recently been remodeled — I loved the decorations in my room. Lots of bamboo, soft greens. Very relaxing I have to say.
I think the standard rates are around $ 199 a night but if you have AAA they come to about $ 142 a night. With this you get free wireless internet, newspaper at your door each morning and free breakfast.
All of the staff were nice. I will stay here again if I have to come back to Virginia.
