Driven Mobile Electronics specializes in the system design, sales, fabrication and installation of mobile electronics systems.

We are available for simple projects such as radio or speaker replacement and Bluetooth handsfree kits, as well as Remote starters and GPS systems.

We also have the ability to fully integrate any of your devices such as your iPhone, iPad or Android phones and tablets.

From simple installations to elaborate designs and custom fabrication, we are here to provide the highest level of customer service possible.

History

Established in 2012.

After nearly 2 decades of providing top notch customer service and installation to the mobile electronics customers of Northern Virginia for a number of different companies, Chris McNulty decide to branch out open Driven Mobile Electronics.

The opening of this shop in Chantilly, earlier this year gives him the opportunity to provide the highest level of service, coupled with the best available products and top notch installation, all under one roof.

It has been a while since there was a shop in this area that was willing to provide answers and solutions, rather than just sales pitches and empty promises. Driven Mobile Electronics is at your service.

Chris has held numerous positions with a number of companies, since discovering his passion in 1991, learning the mobile electronics business from the inside out, gaining understanding of the landscape from MANY different vantage points.

The 2009 move into a more corporate environment, afforded a return to school to pursue a BS in Business and provided insights on how to effectively manage projects.

This diverse experience finally led to the opening of Driven Mobile Electronics on September 8, 2012.

Excellent and professional service. They underestimated the time it would take to do my car when they did the estimate but they stuck to the price they quoted when the job was done. Very few shops operate this way and it is very refreshing to find one that still does. They took their time and did the job right. I will go back for all my audio needs and have already recommended them to coworkers.

Chris and Jason were fantastic to work with. They were able to quote me some prices and options over the phone for remote car starters and get me book within a few day. The timing was critical as it was a surprise Christmas gift for my GF and they were more than accommodating to make it happen in the window of time I had available to do it. The service and assistance they have given me since has been 5 star and they have earned 100% of any auto electronics business I will buy.

This company does not answer the phone and keeps their door locked during business hours. I was interested in going here to get a new stereo system installed in my car, because this place has awesome reviews, but it was impossible to reach anyone. So I took my business else where. Too bad for you Driven Mobile Electronics. You missed out on making over $ 1,000.

These guys blew my mind. I never knew car audio could sound so good. They were super helpful and walked me through all the details of an estimate and answered all of my questions (even stupid ones that most shops would roll their eyes at). It was amazing to hear what they could do with car audio. Part of the estimate process included demonstrations of capabilities and an education on all of the intricate details of how the systems work explained at a level that a layman could understand. Custom sub boxes that perfectly matched a vehicle were no problem for them. Detailed installation that perfectly matched the car’s design came easily to them. This is a great shop for anyone looking for an upgrade to their vehicle sound system.
–Disclaimer — I didn’t decide to use their services (I couldn’t justify that nice of a system in my car. It would be like installing a gourmet kitchen in a mobile home), but I found them to be so helpful I wanted to post a review for anyone else who might be in the market.

I visited this place twice. First time to see if it was possible for them to run power cables for my headrest mounted DVD players. Chris assured me that he could do that job easily in about 3 hours as he was already working with F150 on a similar job. So we negotiated the price and set up date and time for my install and I paid him a $ 100 upfront for the appointment. Then next time I went there and dropped off my car and provided him with power cables and Rca cables. Working I Reston and dropping off Chantilly is a little inconvenient.
I waited until the afternoon and called to check on the status but I was told that due to some other distractions he could not even start working on my project. Chris said he will call me around 4:30 pm to let me know the status. I didn’t receive any call so I call him around 6 to get an update. Still not done but was offered a car drop off at my house when the work was done. I started to really really doubt whether they can do this or not. I got a call around 7:30 PM that he could NOT do it because apparently there was not an easy way he could tap into a power circuit he thought he could. But he ran the rca cables through the back of both the front seats. So after 10 hours and multiple calls and I learnt that they just couldn’t do the job but rushed to charge me that $ 100. I think if they had looked into whether they could actually do the job or not then I would definitely not have wasted my time and money.

i went there to install a remote stater. Chris is really honest about everything he does. my remote starter was not install due to some computer issues. Chris went above and beyond to explain to me what really happen and he will schedule a new day to come and install my remote stater with a free remoter key. even though my remote starter was not install at the same day. he was honest to me. That’s all I care about. I will defiantly go there again for sure. I really don’t write review but I like business who tell you the truth.

First the quality of work that you get from Driven Mobile is excellent. Chris takes his time talking with you so you completely understand the process of the work going to be done. He also takes his time (in a good way) with the work being done, so that the installation is done correctly. I would not hesitate to go back to Chris and Driven for more work on my vehicle!

Chris did an amazing job walking me through the whole process of what he plans on doing and then when the install was complete he showed me how everything works. The AUX port is amazing! He is really passionate and knowledgable about what he does and he will not up sell you or try to make you spend more money on something you do not need. Definitely recommend

When my stock radio went out, I stopped by to see what my options were. Chris was honest and straightforward about what we could and couldn’t do. Time for an update! Since my last review, I have had my F-​250 in to have the previously installed 2M radio uninstalled (I was selling the truck). Not surprisingly, the work performed was neat and efficient!
Most recently, I’ve had my Honda Accord and Nissan Xterra in to have my Kenwood 2M radios and antennas installed. Again, the work was simply pristine. Everything was neat and orderly, obviously the efforts of professionals who know how to do it right the first time.
Driven Mobile has earned my respect and loyalty. No one else will even be considered for any of my future automotive audio/​communication needs.

This is a business to frequent if you need audio installation, advice, support and even education! Both Chris and Christian are experts and do it all! They even spent time with us to help us understand the finer points of audio environments, sound deadening and MP3 quality vs. CD fidelity!
My son is getting a «hand me down» Honda Accord, and Chris & Christian spent tons of time with us to make the car sound better than new!
I was so impressed with the patience, understanding and willingness to offer SO MUCH MORE than just «speakers, amp and installation.» WOW!

Chris and Christian totally rock! My one year old system in my Prius was being over driven by and order of magnitude. I was experiencing increasing drop-​outs, fades from speaker to speaker and a significant amount of ambient noise.
I think both of them were like Electrical Engineers in a previous life because those two are the sharpest technical studs while still maintaining that love for great sound and music. Chris popped that O-​scope and other tools on my system and quickly identified the problem.
They then suggested an alternate solution which was quite reasonable… they took out my Kenwood EQ, installed an Audison bit Ten DSP, re-​cabled my car, re-​calibrated and tuned my system, tested everything and cleaned everything within a day. System sounded like pure magic. I was in love with it again.

I cannot say enough good things about Chris and his team. He continually demonstrates a level of integrity that is hard to find in life, let alone business. In my experience, he is looking out for his customer, rather than trying to squeeze a few more dollars. He understands the value of building long term trusted relationships rather than fleeting transactions. They have creative ideas and professional solutions and they stand behind their work. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. He is not pushy or going for an upsell. The advice that I would offer is, you feel him gently nudging you in a direction, trust him, he knows what he is doing and wants the best solution for his customer.

One of the most knowledgeable crew I have ever encountered. Although I’m an audiophile in my home, mobile is a challenging environment, especially a vintage drop top roadster. Chris and Christopher both were outstanding in their knowledge of not only their products but also with my car. They knew exactly what was in the OEM install, verified the viability of the existing components to try to save some money for us. They quoted me a variety of options to consider and we are better armed to make a decision. Haven’t pulled the trigger yet but rest assured, they will get my business.

Chris and crew were awesome. I dropped in to check out some possibilities for my cars and was given so much information and not pressured at all! We also spent a bit of time reminiscing about some old audio systems and previous installs we had and equipment we used. They also explained some of the new tech and things that have changed since it’s been about 10 years since I’ve done my own audio work.
I will 100% use these guys for any future a/​v jobs, you can really tell that they have enthusiasm and the shop was also super clean.
