If you don’t care about quality workmanship, by all means… Collegiate is the place to call.
I too made the mistake of leaving a check, allowing them to seal my driveway while I was out.
While doing yard work that weekend, I noticed tar spatter across the entire bottom panels of our brand new“white” garage door, and newly painted «white» foundation. I was livid!
Upon contacting Collegiate, informing them of what happened, I was asked to send pics of the area effected; which I did. I’ve heard nothing from them.
I called, and was told that someone will come out in a week or so to «take a look at it»! Really? I’m still waiting.
So please give your money to the many sealant company’s that will actually earn your hard earned money… not Collegiate. The prices are too good to be true because you most definitely get what you pay for.
If just one person reads this while looking for a sealant company, and moves on from this terrible company, I will have done my job of saving someone from throwing their money away on garbage.

Collegiate came our today and are trying to remove the tar spatter from the garage door, and foundation.
They are working hard to remedy my problem, and I truly appreciate this, and am willing to come back to Collegiate. Thank you for making a wrong, a right.

A couple weeks ago we had the roads in our neighborhood sealed. They did it for us a few years ago but whoever worked for them didn’t really do a great job, but we asked them to come back anyway. This time, I am very happy with the quality of work. Most cracks were well sealed and the tar used is thicker than last time. This is important because we maintain our own roads and properly sealed cracks will save us the cost winter will have on our roads.
As our HOA president, I take a chance each time I bring in a contractor. There have been companies which haven’t worked out well and I feel I had wasted our neighbors’ money. I am glad to have given this company another chance. (We haven’t received the bill yet, I hope there aren’t surprises.)

Very happy with the job so far. The Collegiate crew did a very neat and clean job. No material was left on my concrete, garage doors or siding. I was scheduled for a Friday but the forecast was calling for rain. Collegiate contacted me and rescheduled my job to Sunday. I will update if there are any issues, but so far I am happy.

We thought we’d save ourselves some time and pay a company to seal our driveway instead of doing it on our own. The price is excellent but I guess you get what you pay for.
We weren’t home and left a check for Collegiate to seal our driveway and maybe that was our mistake for not watching them. When we called to schedule they were able to see the previous owner had his driveway sealed by the company regularly so we figured it was worth a try.
We came home and were extremely disappointed for several reasons including —
— there were patches they obviously missed
— there were boot prints in the sealant
— they got sealant on our pea gravel porch (the edge next to the driveway)
— along the driveway there were huge clumps of sealant (we had carefully edged along the driveway before this and they just filled in our edging in places)
— it is a really thin coating — and already cracking and we are wondering if we need to seal ourselves or if it can hold off until spring
My only reason for giving them 2 stars is they were pretty responsive and sent someone out to reseal and clean up the edges when we complained. I am keeping at 2 stars because it still doesn’t look like a quality job and I am not sure it will even last 6 months.

They’ve always treated me right at a great price, and they warranty their work. I can’t imagine there’s a better firm out there.

Zero stars would have reflected my opinion of this company, they won’t stand behind their work! If you have any issues at all you are out of luck with them once they get their money!!!

Very pleased with the work. They gave me a very reasonable quote over the phone and charged my card. They arrived, sealed the driveway, and put up warning tape while I was at work. I came home to a great looking driveway. Really appreciate the way these guys do business. Will use them every year.

Really disappointed to see they only have 2.5 stars. I used Collegiate about 3 years ago to first seal my driveway. It was basically grey stone as the previous owners of my house never had it sealed. They came out within a couple of days and sealed the driveway and it lasted for about 2 years. My neighbors even had theirs sealed about 1 year after mine and mine was still better than theirs when I called them out recently.
Fast forward to a week ago. I called them to come out and seal my driveway after I pressure washed a project car of mine so 25 years of grime and fluids were caking my driveway. They had to reschedule twice due to «possible» bad weather. I was floored that they cared enough to reschedule even though there were just scattered storms in the area. First rescheduled by phone and then by email which was a great strategy. They finally came out on Friday to take care of the driveway. I got an alert saying my security camera detected motion and actually caught them on camera carefully cleaning the driveway, weeding the sides, applying sealant and then cleaning up after themselves. They even hand coated a small depression with a smaller tool to fully seal it up. I can’t even tell where the mixture of oil, cat litter, coolant and transmission fluid was. Time will tell but they did a great job.
I’m completely satisfied with the work they performed and think the price is a steal. As long as they’re in business I’ll be using them to seal my driveway.

I had a good experience working with them. Due to heavy rain on two occasions they had to come out three times to seal our driveway. They were more than willing to make it right, and in my opinion really stood behind their service. They performed a timely and professional job each time. Overall I would recommend them.

Terrible work, it is like carelessly spraying a thin coat of black paint on your driveway, nothing else. I do not know where all those 4 – 5 stars come from, but try your best to avoid this company.

I am very happy with this company. They do one thing and that is seal driveways. The price is reasonable and was listed on a flyer. They were extremely professional and said if it rained they would send an email to reschedule. It rained they sent an email, rescheduled 2 days later, came on time sealed the driveway, very simple, very good work. So many companies try to hit you up for additional work and warn you about how everything else on the house will fall apart unless they fix other things. But thankfully not these guys. You pay them to seal the driveway, they come and seal the driveway collect the money and leave. Thank you Collegiate Sealers for making this process very straight forward, easy, and doing your job well.

…and to believe 2 years later these folks still send me a «Reminder» that its time to take care of your driveway. Unbelievable.

Had them do a sizable driveway expansion — amazing job, no issues, no complaints, great communication throughout. Also use them for driveway sealing every few years — highly recommended.

We have an old house with an old driveway to go with it. My money is being saved for a new roof so I needed something that would extend the life of the driveway /​improve the appearance until money started growing on trees. These guys did the trick.
Sealed my driveway for $ 95, it looks awesome. They were easy to deal with and responded to both phone and email. Didn’t make a mess in the yard and got zero on the brick path. Well, a squirrel appeared to track a footprint onto the brick but that wasn’t their fault.
Definitely like these guys, would use them again.

Collegiate has done a good job in the past for us, however this year’s work can only be described as sloppy, without any concern or respect for property.
We were not at home when the application was completed. The sealant was so thinly applied that it appeared that there was no sealant in many places on our 150 foot driveway. In addition, they slopped sealant up the side of the house where it borders the driveway. There was sealant on the siding and on the porch and freshly painted porch rails. The sealant was splattered two feet high. Lots of it.
We called Collegiate and they scheduled a time to re-​apply the sealant which was completed in the quality way we had seen before. I will note that there was someone at the house the day they reapplied the sealant.
A few weeks later, they also sent a crew out to clean the side of the house. We had an appointment and had to leave. When we returned, the siding, porch rails and porch no longer had sealant on them. However, they must have used a jet powered cleaning process. Many of my things that were on my porch were blown down the porch and had debris on them. The porch was stained with water/​solvent. The grout and pavement base on the edge of my stone walk way is gone, apparently blasted out. Several stones in the walkway are stained with white squarish stains. The cleaner apparently also softened the sealant on the driveway, and we now have tread marks in the sealant.
I will never use this company again and suggest if you do, you should make sure you are there to supervise their work.

I’m more than a little confused by all the 1 star ratings for this company. There’s another review site (starts with A, and ends in «list») that shows this company with over 300 reviews and an overall grade of A.
I recently had my driveway replaced, and I think they did a great job. I took off one star for the lack of communication leading up to the day of the work; I called them the day before to see if they were showing up in the morning or afternoon but was told they couldn’t tell me until later in the day. They never offered to call back with this information, so I was surprised to see their trucks parked in front of my house a little after 7am while I was still in bed.
On the driveway replacement, they never seemed rush but everything was done in a little over 3 hours (that’s from the time they showed up to the time they left). They tore up the old driveway asphalt, laid down gravel, and then new asphalt on top of that. The new driveway looks great!
It seems a lot of the low reviews are around the resealing. I’ll probably end up doing the first sealing on my own so I won’t be able to comment on that.

I had a two man crew come out today to reseal my driveway, i will admit I didnt check Unilocal before doing this but I thought the guys who came out and did the work were great.
They took their time cleaning off the driveway and really paid a lot of attention and spent some time actually sealing it and getting to the edges but not in a rushed manner in any way.
I am not sure if they really sealed many cracks admittedly, but they have a pretty verbose section about the cracks they wont seal. Only reason they didnt get 5 stars was this.
what was really excellent is all it took is a couple of emails to get it all setup, I really hate having to call /​speak to someone over the phone endlessly when I am just trying to get something done. They were prompt in their responses and the guys that came out were nice guys who did good work.
I personally would use them again.

WORST ever. you definitely get what you pay for. My 12 year old could have done a better job. sloppy work. PLEASE do not use, poor cusomer service and poor results. Consider this a warning. read the previous reviews. we all can’t be wrong.

Very sloppy. They used a very thin coat of sealant and they went WAY OVER the edge of the driveway into the grass and onto the concrete near the garage. I should NEVER have given them a chance.
What a terrible, careless, sloppy business. Thanks for nothing.

Let’s face it — sealing a driveway is not rocket science. Initially it seemed like everything was going to go very smoothly with this service. I called and asked clearly what I needed to do to prepare for the driveway sealing, as my driveway was new (as of a year ago) and had never been sealed before. I was told that they take care of everything, including sweeping the driveway and preparing the surface. They said that if my driveway was very dirty, that I should wash it down with water. Mine wasn’t really dirty, but I washed it down anyway just to make sure there was no dirt on the surface.
They came and sealed the driveway while I was at work, and when I got home and looked at the job they did, I was very disappointed. I was told that they cleaned debris from the driveway before sealing, but they clearly didn’t do anything on mine, as they sealed over a good bit of mulch that was on the sides of my driveway (from the plants that separate the driveways). This was aggravating considering I called and asked what I needed to do, and I was told they prepped the area, and obviously they did not. All it would have taken was a few seconds to remove the mulch from the driveway before applying the seal coat.
I called immediately when I saw this, but it was after 7pm and they had closed. So I called again the next morning and asked to speak to a Manager. Previously when I called to schedule I had spoken to Thomas, but he was not working that day, so I was transferred to Michelle, the other manager. She was instantly combative and unapologetic for the sub-​standard work they performed. They said they would come out on Monday morning and have a crew take a look.
Fast forward to Monday and the crew that was here had to use their scrapers and essentially re-​edge the driveway to remove all of the mulch they sealed into the asphalt. Of course when they did this, they ended up cracking and removing a lot of the asphalt from my driveway (see photos). This put me in a rather bad mood, as now I had to call back again and speak to someone and spend more time, and not to mention they had now damaged my driveway.
When I called back again, this time I spoke to Thomas who instantly was combative and was telling me that I was wrong and they did not do anything incorrectly. I said I would send them photos and expected a response within one business day. They responded back and said they did nothing incorrectly and that they would not help me anymore. I stated that was unacceptable and I was going to contact my credit card company, as well as my neighbors.
About an hour later, the owner, Rich, called me to discuss. At first he seemed nice, but that quickly turned sour. He accused me of yelling at his staff and being unreasonable and unprofessional, when in fact I had always remained calm and level headed — it was his staff that was unprofessional and not at all customer oriented. Rich also stated that I should never have a driveway sealed because «this kind of stuff is normal.» That is not something I’d want to hear from a business owner; no one should strive for mediocrity, especially in a service industry. When I told him I was done spending time on this matter and was just going to contact my credit card company, because I wasn’t going to spend money for a poorly executed job, especially when they had damaged my driveway, he said he’d refund my money as long as I promised never to use their service again. I told him that would definitely not be a problem.
So, my driveway is sealed, it was a rather poor job, and now the edge of my driveway is rather messed up. And worst of all, I had to spend probably 1 hour of time dealing with these people who were nasty and unprofessional, all for a $ 55 driveway sealing. They kept telling me they are the best sealing company in the area and have done 17,000 driveways and have never had a problem, and yet I told them I’d spend $ 100 or $ 200 just to have someone who takes his/​her time and does the job right the first time.
Just a heads up to anyone looking to use this company. I’d strongly suggest finding someone else so you don’t have to go through what I went through.
