The Cleaning Authority

I first start this that I was a customer of TCA before Unilocal was around, and recommended them. Then stopped 3 years ago, when we moved; and recently started them again in our new home about 7 months ago. They remembered us, and evaluated our new home, and the only particular thing we had was we had real hardwood floors & we wanted a certain product on it, and we’d provide it. Every 2 weeks, like clockwork, the crew (which varied almost every time — not that THAT was an issue) came to my home lugging the carpet vacuum cleaner –which I questioned. They asked, you don’t have carpets? No — hardwood. Oh, your file needs to be updated. Ok, this went on every single time. I don’t know why I allowed myself to let it go for so long, maybe cause for 10 years they did a great job at my old house (with carpet). The inconsistency just did me in, and I think house cleaners may not have cared how well they cleaned, because they knew they wouldn’t be back. When I called to cancel service, the office manager (I guess) said, that my file had nothing in it about wood floors, and she said it should have been noted in my initial walk thru. (Yes, it should have). Anyway. After 7 months of chances. I unfortunately am no longer a client.

One of the owners, Ken, came to our home and told us how great this company was because of their extensive background checks, training programs & employee benefits. We had only been using them for a few months and the cleaning job was ok, other than the fact that we had different people in our home each time — we had requested to have the same crew.
We never have this much cash lying around, but we had just returned from a trip late in the evening and had a nearly $ 1,000 cash. My husband had planned on taking it to the bank the next day so he put it in the exact spot he always puts his money clip, on a shelf in our closet. Unfortunately, he was in a rush to be at work early and forgot to take it with him. That day, The Cleaning Authority came to our home while we were at work. When my husband got home, he immediately noticed the cash was gone. We we searched the closet to make sure it didn’t fall somewhere and we interrogated our 5 year old, who is not tall enough to reach that shelf anyway. When we were sure it had to be he cleaners, we called the office, but the office manager wasn’t sure what to do. We filed a police report and the police called the two cleaners in for questioning. According to the officer who helped us, the 18 year old boy that was in our home had previously been ARRESTED AND CONVICTED of BURGLARY!!! He has spent time in jail for this same type of crime! He also resigned from his job at The Cleaning Authority the same day the money went missing from our home… coincidence? I don’t think so. The most disappointing thing in all of this is that no one from The Cleaning Authority called us or reached out to us in any way after this happened. What kind of customer service is that? We requested that they take responsibility for their employee’s actions and return the money, but they never responded. We had asked for our key back, but they didn’t return it and even sent another crew our to our home without our permission — and they charged us for both cleanings! We did eventually get reimbursed for the second cleaning, so we know they got our letter, but no call, no email, no nothing!!! Just a reimbursement check for one cleaning with our key taped to it. I understand that this type of thing could happen with any cleaning company, but how the company handles the situation is what matters, and The Cleaning Authority completey failed at customer service.

I have used this company for 12 cleans, once every three weeks and although I find the administrators to be very pleasant and the organization to be run efficiently, the issues I had were never knowing when the crew would arrive. I found it difficult to spend a day at home waiting for them and then I had asked several times for some consistency in the crews arriving and was told that was not possible. I dealt with it figuring these folks had a system and I would trust it. But, it just didn’t work for me.
I had issues with the cleaning as well. Apparently dishes will not be done and the sink won’t be cleaned if there are more than a few dishes in it. Dishes in other rooms won’t be brought to the kitchen and if there are items on the counter, they won’t be moved, only cleaned around. The kitchen window won’t be cleaned and neither will dusting the top of entertainment centers. The schedule has baseboard washing’s but it was never done and the floor is not mopped, its «Swiffered» and barely that. (we were told the cleaner was a antibacterial since we have dogs but I never saw that. My steam cleaner did a better job.) Typically I would use my steam cleaner on my tile floor and the pads were always black after they left.
The vacuuming was only the center of rooms and nothing will be moved. I complained about this a few times and it was explained why but after I picked up 13 dead flies on the side of my couch, well, I had enough of paying for services that I ended up finishing after the crew left.
I really like the folks that run this but not their system and not their lack of management of the cleaning crews. Also, I, like many people, need to know WHEN to expect the crew. I just don’t have all day to wait.
I thank these folks for 12 weeks and wish them well.

The WORST customer service around. Our family had services with the company for years. Once we notified the company we were moving and wanted our house cleaned one last time the «owner» informed me the company doesn’t do one time cleanings. This would not be a one time cleaning, this is our LAST cleaning. The «owner» then informed me she doesn’t have an opening for 2 months! I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone! The «owner» is also the scheduler and has been very combative in the past. She doesn’t listen to the customers and their needs. Very disappointing.

This business called and had my review taken off stating this was the wrong business but it is not. it is the business of Ken and Patrick Orr same business and owners as the chandler office my review read as follows…

I contracted The cleaning authority in the peoria glendale which is owned by the same people as the chandler franchise. i set up my initial cleaning a deep cleaning one of two i was supposed to have at the price of 160 a pop. They came .they cleaned they left. upon my return home i walked into my home with my sofa not even touched or straightened my kitchen which was supposed to be a focus area, nothing was moved off of counter tops for cleaning there was dust and grease still left on blinds top of fridge was not cleaned etc etc. and that was just the kitchen. imagine the rest! They sent out their quality control person and tried to rectify the situation which helped a bit but not completely. no where near the work for the amount of money spent. after she left i asked to be contacted by the owner but of course that didn’t happen. I had to call back this morning and still had to wait for a call back. I was called back by the owners son Patrick Orr and as soon as i said i was discontinuing service was treated smugly. I immediately went and picked up my keys from him at his office and showed him pictures but he did not seem interested in seeing the poor work done by his employees. I feel that as long as they got paid for the overpriced job. i was no longer a concern for this company and what i thought or said made no difference. i would caution you before using this company. Read ALL of the reviews before hand. i wish i would have. Would i recommend them? That would be a big no…

I used the Cleaning Authority for about a year and, like Samantha, had random issues throughout the year. They were always breaking something. They reimbursed me if I replaced the item and was able to prove to them that I did. But, if I was unable to replace the item (ex: knick knacks I purchased abroad), they would not reimburse nor even apologize. They did a meh job at cleaning. Just don’t dare complain because the person on the other end of the phone was always VERY rude and uncaring. I think this is a direct reflection of the ownership as the owner is definitely one of the most arrogant people I have ever met.

Have been using this company for about three months now. We cleaned our house ourselves for the first 30 years of our marriage; finally decided we were just too busy to do it well enough. But my wife and I both have pretty high standards; we like our house clean and orderly. This company struck me immediately as highly professional; Patrick gave us a very good overview of what they do and how they do it. I was particularly impressed with how they seem to have made a science of cleaning — they divide your home into quadrants, and as they clean the whole house, they deep clean one quadrant per week, such that your whole house has had a deep cleaning once per month. They do a beautiful job. My wife and I work very hard, and this is a luxury that we enjoy very much. Thanks to TCA!

This is the first time I’ve used the Cleaning Authority for my home. I have to say, I am extremely impressed with how thorough they are with the process. My whole house was transformed! There is not a spot of dust or stain, literally. I came home and can immediately feel the difference. I even examined all the corners, because I thought to myself they can’t be THAT good, but they even took off the dust on the fans, the edges of the picture frames, the light fixtures, and all the appliances. Also, I am most impressed with the job they did in my bathroom. LOVE a clean bathroom and shiny bathtubs. I’m a pretty busy business-​owner and rarely have time to keep up the cleaning. Even if I invest a whole week cleaning the house myself, I would not have done nearly a better job than these professionals. Good job guys, keep up the good work!

Ive been using Cleaning Authority for almost 5 years now. We had a top-​notch team for awhile but the leader moved to Florida. However, the office made sure a new team came in and did things how I was used to having them done. There was a breakage one time… no hassles and I was paid promptly. We’re now on a three-​week rotation since there’s only two of us, so we get more varied folks in, but all are friendly, and do a good job of cleaning.

I have used The Cleaning Authority for several years. They are dependable. They always come when scheduled, take care of any problems quickly and have never failed to respond to my questions. Yes, there is breakage once in a while (the company replaces items if possible) and I wish they would lift things rather than drag them over the furniture and counters and exercise more care about scratching mirrors or glass, but overall they are the best cleaning company I’ve ever had.

We used Cleaning Authority for years. And, for years had random issues. But, there were several glaring issues that I finally could not overlook. I won’t go too much into detail, because I seriously doubt many of the problems have been repeated for other customers; some have just been so outlandish they are almost unbelievable.
We did have repeat problems with broken items. Cleaning Authority was always good about taking responsibility and fixing what they broke, until the last item, which cost hundreds of dollars to replace. They denied responsibility. I know I didn’t break it, my husband didn’t break it, so the only other people in the house at the time, was the Cleaning Authority crew.
I have to say that overall they did a decent job of cleaning. I really liked their mop system they had, not a typical string mop like other companies.
Would I hire them again? Absolutely, not. Would I recommend them? No.

I would NEVER use this company again. We used the company for 4 years and for the first time had a major issue. I had a pair of $ 10,000 diamond earrings missing from a jewelry holder and NO ONE but the cleaning company was in that area from the time I placed them there until they came to clean. They found one earring in their vacuum with the setting ruined and the other earring has never been found. The fact that the earrings were large (1 carat) and were on a flat berber carpet also leads me to wonder why they could find barretts on the floor but not a large earring. The owner refused to take ANY responsibility for the damaged earring or the missing one even though the facts point toward them knocking the earrings off the desk area. She was downright arrogant and was more concerned that they had to take apart their vacuum to look for the earrings. The fact that they are bonded means absolutely NOTHING. DO NOT TRUST THEM!
