Steven is a CPA and EA in Chandler, Queen Creek and surrounding areas. Although January-​April is our busy season we are open year round for all your needs. We provide the following services: prepare tax returns for individuals and businesses; provide bookkeeping services including preparing your books, QuickBooks training, payroll processing and entity setup; financial planning services to help clients achieve their financial goals including retire comfortably, fund their children’s education and protect their family.

History

Established in 1995.

Steven M. Vogt, CPA, EA Tax and Financial Services started back in 1995. For the first 3 years my wife (Leslie Vogt) and I ran our business out of our house. We then leased an office a couple miles down the road. We grew our business to over 3,000 clients out of this office. In 2008, we opened our 2nd office in Queen Creek. We recently purchased an office in Chandler, Arizona. We continue to grow with more clients and more services we offer. Not only do we prepare tax returns for individual, S-​Corps and Partnerships, but we provide financial services, such as full service bookkeeping.

I grew up in Lansing, Michigan. Go Spartans! Leslie is an Arizona-​native. We have four beautiful children and 5 lovely grandchildren.

In 1984, I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. Then, in June 1991 I became a Certified Public Accountant and a few years later, in 1991, an Enrolled Agent. I am currently a member of the Arizona Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.

Steve: I like to play the drums, ride my motorcycle and take videos of the family. With the videos I create a montage to create a permanent record of the fun we have had as a family. I look forward to watching all of these videos from my rocking chair when I’m in my 90’s to live it all over again!

Leslie: I like to volunteer at a local hospital and anywhere that involves our children and grandchildren. Family is my top priority. I love spending time with my grandchildren.

My wife and I have been in the valley for 14 years and have used the Vogt’s tax service for all of that time. For the first 11 years we used the Chandler office and spoke with either Steve or Leslie in person. I can say we have had great service for the duration until the last 3 years from the Queen Creek office.
Why I am writing this is this last year I was pressured to finish (sign) a return I felt needed a second look by the Queen Creek office and was told it would entail additional expense and time, and that time was short for them it would simply not be possible to go over it. They suggested maybe next year go over it with Steve and Leslie in person. My wife had already written them a check (which I found out was a mistake on our part since I had to put a stop on payment.) and they sent it home with me to go over. Since this was not an acceptable return I wanted them to include more information and they refused by stating the reasons I mentioned. I found an alternative preparer and got the taxes done.
Leslie called me last week stating that I had illegally written them a check and cancelled it and she would be sending me to collections if I did not pay for the return we did not use. (which she called today and agreed to send me a bill for) At no point was Leslie willing to admit that they had made a mistake in any way dealing with us and that they want me to pay for their poor useless effort.
This is how they treat their loyal customers.

If you don’t mind not meeting with the CPA this is the place to go. I myself like to meet with the CPA so this would not be my first choice keep looking to build a relationship with one that will meet with you

My wife and I relocated from another state and wanted to establish a relationship with a new CPA as we have fairly complex personal (selling our old home and purchasing a home here in the East Valley) and business taxes, not to mention, multi-​state returns. Due to the complexity of our tax situation, we value face to face meetings with our CPA.
It was tough leaving our 10+ year relationship with our former CPA who did an outstanding job, but meeting personally with him would’ve been difficult and inconvenient (not wanting video conferencing, etc.) because of our relocation to Arizona.
My wife and I carried out some research and found outstanding customer reviews of Steven Vogt, CPA which led us to become first time clients. In the end, we were pleasantly surprised and relieved that we owed far less than we had anticipated.
Having met both the co-​owners Steve and Leslie (not to mention some of their senior staff and tax preparers), I can tell you first hand that they do their absolute best (and did) to have us pay the least amount of taxes possible. We also found the cost of having them prepare our taxes to be competitive and in line with what we paid with our previous CPA.
One last thing I would like to mention is that even though they were very busy (a steady stream of fellow clients coming in to start the tax process or picking up their completed taxes) during our two meetings with them, we never felt rushed and their staff was very friendly as well which is important to us.
We’re looking forward to our continued relationship with Steve and Leslie’s CPA firm as they’ve earned our trust.

First off his wife isn’t polite. Also we were told by their assistant it would be $ 380 fee. I thought that was expensive and she said she would talk to Steven m voght to discount me. Specially since I was a new client and referred.
I found a coupon with 30% discount. When I went in they changed fee to $ 560 and said already applied the discount.
I work over at Intel and won’t be quite sharing my experience to my coworkers
We were lied to and cheated by Steven voght n company. I will be going back to my original tax guy who charges $ 250. Very unhappy.

My experience with Steven M Vogt, CPA was very fast and convenient! I was able to drop my taxes off and I came back in a week to go over my return… my state return was deposited into my checking account within a week and my federal within a couple days after the state! All of the staff was very helpful and very friendly. The price wasn’t all that bad either. Goodbye HR Block

Wow, I was a little surprised to see a bad review for Steven Vogt and his team. I have been using his services for almost a decade, and I have never had one complaint. In fact, I always find his staff to be super friendly and willing to help. Maybe I’ve been lucky and never had a mistake, but they always manage to get me back the maximum return. The only reason for not giving them five stars is the cost. I find them to be a little on the high side, but I suppose you get what you pay for.

The Vogt family has been taking care of my tax preparations for the past three years. Their service is convenient, prompt and affordable. They always get me a reasonable return for my taxes as well! I really enjoy the personalized service, especially the face-​to-​face meetings. My favorite part of being a Vogt client, besides the gift certificates for client referrals, is that I can count on the Vogt’s to provide *at-​home* financial consulting year-​round at no charge!
