I have had many surgeries over the past 10 years. Dr. Whitman removed my gallbladder. This was one of the most minor surgeries I have had, so I was not nervous. My initial visit was pleasant enough. The staff is wonderful! The problems started with the surgery. He was 2 hours late! He did not even apologize when he showed up. I was not the only one waiting on him! He made tiny incisions and closed them with staples! I have had larger incisions and never had staples. He told my husband to call if anything happened. I spent the first night on the floor by the door throwing up violently every time I moved at all. I could not even get up to go to bed. He called the doctor and was told to leave me there and go to the ER in the morning if I was still throwing up. The incisions are the worst I have had. I have protruding scars, much worse than I have from any other surgery. I was supposed to rest over the weekend and then be better within 2 – 3 days. I was unable to walk more than a few feet for 3 weeks. I was unable to sit or stand without assistance for 2 weeks. I felt really wrong! Every time I called, I was told to wait longer. During my follow-​up to have the staples removed, I wanted to finally speak with him about the pain. I told his nurse. He said it was odd and I should ask. The doctor came in, took the staple remover from the alcohol, removed the staples, dripping the alcohol in my open wounds, which were sore due the the reaction I had to the staples, then he left. He never said a word to me and never asked me a question! I left the office in tears and in pain! The front office staff was amazing! The ladies were concerned and tried to help me feel better. I could tell that I was not the only one he treats like this. It is now 4 years later. I still have very noticeable scars and still have problems with internal pain that started after the surgery. He will never operate on me or any member of my family again.
