All those little things that other companies charge you for are included in our fixed pricing. We also remove unwanted belongings and donate them to local charities at no charge. We also have a full service cleaning crew for those who just want to move and never look back at the mess that is left behind.

We here at Rent-​A-​Friend Labor Services live by the motto «We work harder so you don’t have to.» We pride ourselves on our friendly staff, affordable pricing, and going above and beyond to serve our clients needs. We operate under strict safety guidelines and protect your property as if it were our own. Our goal is to provide our clients with the best possible moving experience. We also offer many other services to help you during your transition. All you have to do is ask… you will be surprised how easy we can make your move!

History

Established in 2004.

We were established with a unique goal in mind, to make our clients no longer hate moving. We are on a mission to change how moving is viewed by the world. When you discover that you are moving the stress begins you ask your self many question. We eliminate most of those questions with our unique full service moving experience. We provide a one stop shop with no extras to our clients and focus on the little things that the others over look. We started with one man, a pickup truck, and a borrowed 6×10 trailer and provided small delivery and handy man work.

Just a few years later we have grown and expanded our services to include a 17ft truck with a trailer attached and provide full service moving and relocation. We recently added cleaning, light landscaping and much more all for a fixed no BS hourly rate.

The founder of this ever growing company started working around age 12. Got his first real job at 15 at a grocery store, by age 16 he was working 2 part time jobs, at age 17 he was working 2 full time jobs and trying to break into the real estate market. Through hard work and lots of long days he succeeded but after a serious of setbacks walked away from his first real-​estate project. He then reanalyzed what he was trying to do and discovered that he was going about it all wrong The best way to be successful was to help others not himself. His goal was then reset and a new mission started, to serve and help others. He then looked at where he could be of the most use and have an endless supply of people in need. He did lots of research before settling of moving and labor assistance services. He learned that when an individual is in the process of moving they are in a somewhat vulnerable state and many companies take advantage of this, so he decided that is where he could help.

I called, had a *very reasonable* quote in minutes and I just scheduled him — he had his ish together (you could tell) and sounded more than capable of doing the job I had (fridge pickup and relocation). John showed up on time and got the job done within the hour (and I lived pretty far and I hadn’t emptied my home fridge yet). He was quick to plan, measure and get the job done correctly, quickly and very considerate of my home situation (9pm fridge swap with two babies sleeping nearby and a loud dog). THANK YOU, I highly recommend and I will def call you for any future labor services!

The best part about working with these guys today was the constant communication. Normally I don’t require stating and re-​stating of a plan but I couldn’t help but appreciate how thorough they were with contacting me. John called once in the middle of the move to see how everything was going and then again after they were done. And the initial call I made to schedule the move, which was the day before due to my scheduled mover backing out, was equally thorough and informative so at the end I knew exactly what my price was going to be. Before they actually showed up they also called me to let me know they were on their way and were there exactly at the time they projected. They introduced themselves and did everything they said they would do and asked questions regarding my things to make sure they were handling things they way I wanted. The fees were definitely not as expensive as other companies I checked with but were still about what I would expect from a reputable, legitimate company. There were 3 guys for the hourly rate and 2 of them definitely needed a bit of time to «warm up» and come out of their shell but overall they were very friendly and easy to work with. My stuff arrived safely and in a reasonable amount of time. I was actually pleasantly surprised with how quickly they moved me out of my 3rd story apartment! They had all the supplies and even were able to sell me mattress covers at a WAY cheaper rate than going to the Uhaul store. On such short notice, I am definitely glad that I found these guys! I will probably need to use them again in the near future!

I called Rent-​A-​Friend Labor Services the day before I needed to do a move from a 2nd story one bedroom apartment in Chandler to a residential home in Tucson. I had called around 8 other moving companies at that point and told John I was still in the process of «shopping around». He gave me an amazing quote and said I could call as late as midnight to let him know if he would be needed the next day.
He ended up being the best deal by far. Most companies either weren’t available for another 2 – 3 weeks or quoted me anywhere from $ 700 — $ 1200 to move a one bedroom apartment 100 miles. I thought those prices were ridiculous considering I had already packed everything and would just need my furniture items covered up and safely transferred without being scratched. John gave me a quote of $ 300 worst case scenario.
The next day he called ahead of time to let me know when he was on his way and was right on time for the time we had scheduled. He was very delicate with my furniture. One particular wooden bar table I have is extremely delicate and very expensive and he treated it with care. It was transferred with no scuffs or scratches.
He was super friendly and communicated with me throughout the whole process. It had rained the night before so it was a hot, humid morning in Chandler but he worked non-​stop. Including drive time, the entire move took only 3.5 hours.
Overall, I found working with John to be extremely easy and fast. He was friendly and diligent throughout the entire process. I HIGHLY recommend using Rent-​A-​Friend.

I am so glad I was referred to these guys. They helped me move and it was don’t in a timely manner and they were very careful with my belongings. They were in contact with me when appropriate to ensure we were on the same page, which I appreciate from dealing with others that kept me in the dark. John and his crew arrived and immediately took care of everything. I even had to leave them to tend to another business issue and there was no slacking, just hard work.
The fee was very reasonable, which I greatly appreciate being a budget. I will definitely use these guys again and refer them to anyone I know in need.

I can’t believe I didn’t write a review for Rent-​A-​Friend Labor Services. They helped me move this past April and it was the best moving process. They were professional, prompt, efficient and friendly. I would highly recommend them for any move.
I called John today because I need help getting a heavy armoire up 3 flights of stairs. He was able to schedule something this afternoon! I know I can count on them to move this heavy piece of furniture up my challenging staircase. They moved my furniture last time with no damage to anything!!!

I used John’s moving services to move my family and our 3 bedroom home about a month ago and I apologize for my delay in sending his fantastic review! John was very reasonable compared to some of the other quotes I received. We needed them to move our larger furniture items and had most of the other stuff already moved out that we did on our own as we were only moving a few miles away. He was easy to work with and brought another mover to help them. He was great with the communication, scheduling, and arrived when he said he would. He even brought over 2 huge garment racks on wheels for my massive closet of clothes so I didn’t even need to box them up! They disassembled most of the items like the beds, etc and put everything back together once moved to the new house. It took them about 4 hours total for everything. He was very efficient and they did their best to handle our items with care. I hope to never have to move AGAIN but if I do, I know who to call! I would highly recommend him and his crew to others. John is a hard worker!

I called this company up two weeks ago upon reading all the positive reviews, when I needed a company that can pick up a refrigerator at a house and delivery it to my house. VERY glad I did, because John turned out to be as helpful and friendly as other people had described. He took my appointment the same day, and worked late into the night to deliver my refrigerator. He was wrongfully «blamed» by the family that sold me the refrigerator on Criags List for the way he handled the refrigerator, but he called me after getting on the road to explain what was going on. When he got to my house, it was way after 8, so I was afraid he might be tired and would hurry through everything. But no, he took his time to take the front door down, carefully moved the refrigerator, and later put the front door back up. He was also pleasant in the entire time, even though it was the end of the day and he was dead tired. In the end, he only charged me for the time it took him to drive to my house and the move, not the extra time he spent dealing with the old owner of the refrigerator. I was very appreciative of this gesture, and called him again the next week for another delivery service. Once again, John always answered the phone, and was very accommodating and pleasant to deal with. He was very reasonable and gave me a very good deal since he didn’t have to hire a helper. I am very happy to have found a good moving service, and will use his service again and again in the future.

My girlfriend and I got the shaft from a different moving company, and were scrambling to find someone last minute. John was one of the couple different people we called. He was booked up, and couldn’t help us last minute… I can understand why. I can only imagine anyone who has met or dealt with him has come to understand that he offers more than just a service to get things done. Though we did not use his service this time, he was constantly in contact with my girlfriend, making sure that our second moving company was on time, what to look out for, the questions to ask, and followed up to make sure everything went well. All just because he cares about people.

Amazing … picture this– moving from KY, 3rd floor apt, husband had sprained his ankle, a 6 by 12 Uhaul trailor filled& we knew no one! I found this company on the internet & they were available last minute (literally). Very professional, hard working, fun, fast, careful and safe! We were very pleased with how fast they got all those rubbermaids & furniture up those 40 steps! We will use them again & we recommend them highly! Give yourself a break& hire these guys!!!:-)

Could not ask for better! John N. was simply great. I was in a pinch and needed to move some appliances the next day, and he was a able to get me scheduled. He had all the needed equipment (truck w/​rails, blankets, dollys, etc). John’s is strong guy too, and is able to handle all the heavy stuff well. Friendly and his PRICES WERE UNBEATABLE! John Normandin was awesome! All of my friends bailed on me, so I had no choice but to hire a mover the night before our move. John was so flexible and prompt. He even gave us a wake-​up call in the morning so we’d be ready. There was an issue with my fridge and the water source, but John handled the situation perfectly and everything got moved faster than I expected. He even moved my piano! Every other mover charges extra for that! I would definitely recommend John and Rent-​A-​Friend Labor Services AND I will hire them the next time I move. Don’t waste your time waiting for your friends to show up, just Rent-​A-​Friend!
