Pendleton Pediatrics

My kids became patients of Pendleton Pediatrics several years ago when Dr. Pendleton came and spoke to our MOMS group and patiently took questions from 200 women, most of which were very silly. It was clear to me that she was professional and PATIENT! We have been very happy with her service as well as the service from her nurse practitioners. The front desk is also professional and they keep a few open appointments to get sick kiddos in same day, if necessary. I appreciate this. They are busy so I have had to go elsewhere when MY poor planning resulted in not being able to get an appointment for a camp medical release for my son but again, that was my problem, my fault. I am confident in this practice’s care and concern for my kids and I appreciate it very much.
One more thing — they have convenient online records but make sure you REMEMBER your login and password to access your kid’s shot records. Much better than having that silly little book the hospital gave me. Where is that darn thing anyway…

What a cheap group of physicians. I went to have my new born seen for her first visit and wanted to keep her and my son (also a patient for about 9 months now) consistent with shot record and paperwork, and this place was so stingy about providing me with a book for my son.
You think your pediatrician would want to keep and update with her patients, talking to these people were like pulling teeth.
Next. I also wouldn’t recommend making appointments unless you expect to wait the 50min before a doctor comes in to see the patient. Insurance charged for the hour, yet child was seen for 10min.
The good note is Dr. Thacker was nice and kid to my child, all others weren’t really helpful at all.
Regret choosing this pediatrician office.

We really like Dr P when we had our initial interview appointment with her! We immediately decided to have her take care of our first newborn baby. However, on the first day home from the hospital, we had an unfortunate incident that our cat attacked our baby’s scalp !!! His head has open wound and was bleeding!!! We called the office immediately and I was literally begging them to take a look of my baby’s wound before his first appointment, which is the next day. The receptionist told me to put Neosporin on the scalp. which is what we did. Then she said «we wouldn’t do anything different if you come in today ««just wait until the morning» Really? I was literally crying on the phone and helpless on how to take care of our baby. NO they still won’t see us at alll. We called another office and this office wanted us to bring the baby in immediately for cleaning the wounds and prescribed antibiotics ointment for possible infection… !! (I’m forever grateful to this another office for their immediate attention) anyways, This incident pretty much allowed me to learn that I can’t count on Dr. P ‘s ffice to take care of my baby, especially in a case of emergency. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE TO ANYONE.

I used to really like this place until they got the new receptionist and Dr Danielle left. Will be taking my kids elsewhere.

As our daughter’s due date approached last summer, I put out feelers with my other parent friends to find a great pediatrician. I got about 5 really good recommendations I planned to follow up with. One of those was Dr. Pendleton, who was vouched for by a doctor friend of ours whose wife takes their two kids to her… that felt like a good sign! Before I had a chance to set up any interviews, my husband met Dr. P by chance at his office and found out she was a pediatrician. He got such a good vibe that he called me asking me to set up an interview with her right away. That’s when I realized she was on my list! How do you ignore that?
Pendleton is a Christian based practice, as you can tell by bible verses here and there and from their mission statement. It doesn’t beat you over the head, but if you appreciate a doctor who shares your faith, it is comforting.
In the 6 months we have been taking our little one to this office, we’ve had nothing but good experiences. We’ve seen a variety of doctors and nurse practitioners, though the schedulers are happy to work with you to schedule whoever you’d most like to see, if you have a preference. I’ve loved them all so far, so I take whoever is available. They are all very gentle and sweet with my baby, patient and informative with me, and they’ve found that happy medium between making me feel welcome to ask questions and addressing my concerns, versus having an efficient appointment. The wait time has never been more than a few minutes and the appointment itself moves along too.
I love that there’s a well entrance, a sick entrance, and even a contagious rash entrance! There’s only so much you can do to shield your child from germs at the doctor’s office, but they take all the precautions they can. I’m also a huge fan of the nursing room. The «help yourself» attitude towards it is refreshing and welcoming, and access to it is really helpful when the baby is angry after a shot, fussy, or simply hungry.
I’ve recommended Dr. P to a good friend who loves this practice as well! I’d certainly recommend them to you (or rather your children, as applicable…) too!

We’ve been seeing the folks at Pendleton since our daughter was born in February. Dr. Judy was our first interview when I was pregnant and through our subsequent pediatrician interviews I just didn’t feel as comfortable with anyone else. And we haven’t been disappointed. The staff is wonderful and kind. They have addressed our concerns. They know who we are when we walk in. We have never waited in the waiting room for more than about 10 minutes.
And I absolutely love the nursing room they have. Nothing soothes my baby quicker than nursing and after a shot it’s just necessary to sit down and rock her and soothe her. It’s wonderful.

AMAZING practice. We have 5 children and are new to Phoenix. We were nervous finding a new pediatrician. We were so impressed with the level of care, efficiency, organization and attention. We are so thankful for Pendleton Pediatrics!!!

Do not go to nor recommend Pendleton Pediatrics! They DO NOT care about their patients when it is after hours-​Dr Pendleton is quick to get attitude and does a lot of interrupting and assuming that your call is a non urgent matter (regardless of your concern as a new parent) This woman lacks compassion and will just tell you to bring your child in for an appointment (her tone is very condescending) Not to mention the nurses shrug off the issues you bring up when you DO schedule visits (giving you the SAME advice that you have already tried that DIDNT HELP) Biggest red flag: in the 5 mths my child was a patient? not ONCE did we ever meet the actual DOCTOR of this practice… shame on you Dr Pendleton. This pediatric office is no place for a new parent to take their baby or for any parent who ever needs to reach someone after hours when they come home from work to a sick infant.

We have been seeing Dr Pendleton since our son was born last year. The first few visits, like when we got our son circumcised, we saw Dr Judy. She is obviously extremely experienced. But since then we’ve seen Danielle. We LOVE Danielle. Our son is very shy and fearful of new people and he loves her too. She is so gentle and good at examining him without making him nervous or uncomfortable.
When our son had a breathing problem, they referred us to specialists close by and even helped us get an appointment. They were great about following up.
Originally, we weren’t very comfortable with all of the immunizations, and they were wonderful enough to sit down and explain what each one was, what the risks were, and why it’s important. I don’t think our son has ever had more than three at a time, and when he was little they spread them out more for us. They have an alternative plan you can sign up for. Since then, we’ve transferred to the normal schedule.
When we first brought our son, I was a new mother and fairly sensitive. Something an receptionist said upset me. I shared this with Dr Judy, and she handled it great. I felt so much better after talking with her. And now we know all the office staff by name and they recognize us too.
Our son has gotten sick and done three or four sick visits with them in the last year. I feel like they don’t overmedicate, and really talk it through with you.

We love Dr. Pendleton! I switched to her office when my daughter was younger and we were unhappy with Healing Hearts Peds. We have been a patient for over 5 years now. Always easy to get an appointment when needed and Danielle & Dr Pendleton are wonderful with my kids.

We love Pendleton! Both Dr Judy and Danielle, the NP, are great. We used to live about 5 minutes away, when we moved 30 minutes away we tried out a new pediatrician, but soon switched back to Pendleton. They take their time to listen to my concerns, never rush me and all the staff is great with both our children.
We get same day appointments and whenever I call, even with minor questions, I get a call-​back and no-​one will ever let me feel that I am not important.
Love them!

My family is new to the area.
My nine year old daughter is missing one of her immunizations, so I called up the office to schedule an appointment to get the shot. The front desk told me I needed to «sit down with the doctor and discuss an immunization plan» before they would schedule my daughter for the shot. This knowing my daughter is all but finished with her shots.
Are you kidding me? Take additional time off work and pay to sit in a doctor’s office to «talk» about getting the shot, then come back again and pay again to actually get the shot? I’m trying to get my daughter’s last shot finalized, not ask for permission to do so.
Very patronizing and dismissive.

The best Doctor Office EVER!!! Great office staff, nurse practitioner and pediatric doctor. My daughter loves their office and so do I. I would recommend the office to anyone with a child!
