I wanted an after market Nav system in my truck. I did some quick research on installers and Handcrafted had strong reviews. I decided to give them a shot, and they did not disappoint. The installation was clean, professional, neat, and everything works! They took the time to explain how everything works, and answered any questions.
Great job! I will be returning for any future car audio needs.

After exhausting every search and review for remote car starters we chose to go with Handcrafted Car Audio. Honestly, if you’ve started your search, save yourself the hassle and go with them.
The whole team at Handcrafted Car Audio is very knowledgeable and professional. They are up front about all costs and equipment. Also, they use very well rated remote car starters. The system they use is expandable which means that if you want to upgrade anything down the line you can. They answered my questions by email and phone super quick. They also always answer their phone during business hours. Lastly, they guarantee their work so if you ever do have an issue you can take it back to them.
Some things I learned about remote starters:
1. You want a really professional installation — they are dealing with your car starter for goodness sakes and you want someone who does this on a daily basis (I checked out Best Buy and their own install people didn’t know much about what they were going to do.) I also checked with some more local installers, but they were never as professional or knowledgeable (they had to «get back to me» about my questions).
2. You want a system that can start through building walls. Some of the cheaper systems need direct line of sight to get the car started. I can turn my car from inside Target which means after I’m done checking out my car is nice and cool when I get to it.
3. All installs are pricey — however, Handcrafted Car Audio gave me the best and most direct quote. There were no surprises. For example, Best Buy advertises an install for around $ 120, but when I went to the store and got a real quote for my vehicle it was about $ 100 more than Handcrafted audio. Some cars are more straight forward and my vehicle required some additional wiring (which I suspected it would since it’s not a very popular car).
4. The install takes a while, so we dropped the car off and picked it up later. We actually drove 35 minutes to get the remote starter installed here, but it was well worth the time and money.
5. If you are a mom and considering getting a remote car starter for air conditioning while you load your kids, it is wwwaaaayyyy worth the cost and time. I feel secure knowing that I can have the car running without someone driving away while I load my kids. Also, it makes it sooo much more comfortable in the heat. Your babies don’t have to sweat away while you load groceries anymore! Or need to do quick changes, or snacks in the car!

Handcrafted’ famous line is «we’ll look at this and see if this is something we want to do.» This is their best «your a sucker at our mercy» line. Doing business here, you may well be.
I walked into the handcrafted store and was astonished when I was asked if I could still return $ 6,500 in pre-​purchased flagship model components I brought in for an installation job.
Making money is something we all need to accomplish in order to stay in business, however when handcrafted needs to flush a top of the line flagship system so that they can make an extra buck in addition to its installation, the business model is «greed» and a «lust for spending your money on what benefits them. Not you.» Typical American greed.
I came to handcrafted to ask them to help me build MY dream system. What handcrafted wanted to do instead was spend my money on THEIR dream system. Not mine.

Far Too often we get suckered by audio companies like Handcrafted. And it’s my service to my fellow man to help them make a better decision than to be suckered at handcrafted audio.

This place is the best. I live in Southern California and had been looking for a shop to install a new stereo system in my new truck for quite some time. I am very picky about who works on my cars so I had to make sure whoever did it did quality work. I searched the internet for an audison dealer/​installer that I could trust to work on my vehicle and I kept running into HCA. I did some research and looked for reviews on this place and was very impressed. I called and spoke with the owner Jon kowanetz. This guy was so knowledgable in the type of system I wanted and was very professional and passionate about his craft that I knew within the first few minutes this was the shop. I scheduled an appointment about two weeks out and in that time John was very good about communicating with me and answering all my questions (which I had a lot of). On arrival John had arranged to have a Hertz Rent-​A-​Car associate pick me and my family up from the shop to pick up a rental. When the install was done I was blown away with The quality of work John and his team do. Best of all it sounded amazing!!! Definitely worth the eight hour round-​trip drive. HCA is my new go to place for any of my car audio needs. Thank you Jon.

Came in on a whim several months ago to get an aftermarket alarm system installed on my car. Jon was a very friendly and knowledgeable guy that has a small but very cool shop hidden near the 60 and Mesa Dr. My stock alarm system was having a couple of issues and my remotes were going bad anyways so I figured I’ll just get a newer one that has the same 1-​way functionality. Should be simple stuff.
Jon’s shop is badass. Very neat display of the products you can choose from, some cool awards and articles, but nothing beats this man’s desk chair. Do want. Definitely check it out. The back-​of-​house is impressive, too – many stations for different tasks, an enclosed «dust area» for custom projects, and even racks to hang floor mats to keep them clean off the shop floor.
When I explained to him what I needed, I did have to go through a small sales spiel on why the entry-​level system I came in wanting may not be the best choice. He demonstrated some cool features of the more advanced 2-​way systems on his own truck that were pretty awesome, but once I reiterated that I really just want a newer version of what I already had that was cost-​effective for my budget, he understood and we proceeded with the plan.
I couldn’t get the work done the same day as they were busy, so we scheduled for the next week. I had to pay a hefty deposit up-​front which I wasn’t too thrilled about, but here I am several months later still satisfied with the work so that’s old news now. When I came in to drop off my car and get the work done, Jon’s tech mentioned that he had never done my model car before – this worried me. I would hope that a sound/​alarm specialist would know how to do a car as relatively common as mine, but when I came back a few hours later, I was blown away. He took time to carefully route wires so that everything looks perfectly stock. Best Buy cannot come close to Handcrafted’s installation quality. They even taped up my door panels beforehand so that nothing would get scratched in the install process. That is some serious attention-​to-​detail that needs to be recognized. There was a reason this was a ½ day job.
All in all, several months later, I’m happy with what I bought. I did have to come back a few times to get a few things adjusted and re-​programmed (apparently my stock alarm system doesn’t jive well with the aftermarket alarm system I bought from Handcrafted, but Jon’s tech called up the alarm company and figured out a workaround). Jon even e-​mailed me several weeks later to be sure I was fully satisfied – great customer service. I’m a bit concerned with all the filtered reviews on their Unilocal page – a lot of them seem pretty fake (1 review and no friends, but a wall of text with nothing but compliments? Hmmm…) – take a look for yourself. But anyways – I would highly recommend giving this shop a chance, especially if you’re considering Best Buy (don’t go to Best Buy – support these smaller guys!).

Wanted to get a hands free bluetooth in my 2008 Infiniti G35. Stopped by Handcrafted after a Unilocal & google search. Best decision I could have made. Jon & the staff were great, explained all my options, and we quickly scheduled an appointment. Installation was top notch, looks like OEM parts. Jon personally took time after the install to go over all features and made sure I understood how everything worked. I could not be more pleased. I will be returning to Handcrafted to have my stereo equipment upgraded. Don’t go anywhere else, this is the place!

Cannot say enough good things about them. They fixed a botched install from the now out of business Ultimate Electronics. Jon took a lot of time away from other work to sit down and really explain my options. They also stand by their work and helped me when I had a hardware failure nearly a year after the install. At no cost for the labor they swapped out the faulty component instead of making me wait for the manufacturer to repair it so I didn’t have to spend any time without my audio and Bluetooth. If you go to most shops they will not take the time to explain the products (or the salespeople don’t understand the products) but that’s not true at Handcrafted Car Audio. The only problem is I want to spend more money there than I can afford!

I wanted to get a special piece of equipment installed in my Lexus, that allowed me to use my smartphone on my car’s touchscreen. Cool, huh? One of the companies recommended by Vais, the people that made the product, was Handcrafted Car Audio. I had just bought my Lexus, so there were a couple of other things I had done at the same time: Limo tint and remote start from my smartphone with unlimited range. Everything was installed perfectly. What inspired me to write this review is that even months after the installation was completed, Handcrafted Car Audio was there to help me with any questions I had. The staff was professional, friendly and helpful. I used to go to Best Buy for car audio, but never again. I am a customer of Handcrafted Car Audio for life.

When the window would not roll up on my 2007 Sebring, I immediately went to the dealership to get it looked at, the price was not something I could do right away, so I pulled it up the best I could and wedged it so it would not fall down. a couple of weeks later I was recommended to hand crafted car audio through a friend who had some audio work done (has an amazing sound system now) on his ride and he said they could probably take care of it for me since they are use to working with the interiors of the vehicles. I took a shot in the dark and I called and spoke with Jon at the shop, he said it would not be a problem and he even recommended a great website where I could order the part cheaper then the dealer, he said once the part arrived to just go ahead and stop by whenever and they would not have a problem installing it. Well about a week later I received the part in the mail and decided to stop by after work on a Thursday, as soon as I walked in I was greeted by Jon after I told him my name he remembered speaking with me about the broken window on my car, he said to pull around out back and they would fix it up real quick, I could tell they were busy because a couple of other cars in the shop getting some work done, so I figured I would be there a while but to my surprise the Tech (I forgot his name but he was awesome) started working on my car right away and he was done replacing the window regulator within 15 minutes, what i loved is he took such great care with the dis-​assembly of the driver side door and he even let me watch and explained exactly what he was doing the whole time. after the window worked perfectly. The real shock was when I went to pay for the work, Jon said since it was only 15 minutes worth of work he said a tip for the tech would suffice for payment. Mind Blown, considering how most car shops are now a days. What I took away was that such a small job made such a huge impression on me, the professionalism and customer service that is displayed at this shop is some of the best out there, which is why I definitely will be going back for my future car audio needs.

I am very particular on who works on my truck. I have had places do really bad work in the past but I heard so many good things about this shop I had to give it is try. I am so glad that I did.
I met the owner Jon, and he was really great. You can tell he really knows what he is doing and really wants to make his customer’s happy.
He was fixing an alarm I had issues with that another shop installed for me (don’t get me started). He fixed the issue so fast and then he wanted to listen to the sub they installed for me I was shocked to find that the other shop didn’t even tune it correctly.
He started to work with the amp and my Sub started hitting so much harder. I didn’t know my ported box could handle the double kick bass like in Heavy Metal so well. Normally I would just heard the bass just get drowned out but after a few minutes with Jon learned what my sub could do.
You guys earned a customer for life. I don’t care if I have to drive to see you. My next project is getting trailered over to you and it will be all yours to work on. Your quality and customer service makes all the difference in the world.

I was looking all over to find the right Head unit (stereo) and stumbled upon Handcrafted Car Audio. I was able to call in and speak with Jon. He not only took his time to help me but he also recommended the perfect unit for my vehicle. I made my appointment within a days time and was welcomed immediately upon entering the business.
They not only put in a great stereo, but also explained how to use it. I now have the Sony XAV-​701HD and am loving it. While I was there they also installed a flush mounted USB connection in the dash. You cant even tell it was installed! it looks like it was a factory add on!
I am more than happy with the work and the stereo. The best thing about this business is it’s knowledge base and there dedication to customer service. Jon even contacted me within the next couple of days to see how it was working.
I am a U.S. Navy disabled veteran and am glad that a Business like this one is out there. Not to often you get such good customer service in this country. I will be returning to Handcrafted Car Audio in the future to add more to my vehicle.

The stock speakers in my 2012 Ford Focus were in need of replacement so I decided to upgrade them. I emailed a few places around town and Jon and Handcrafted Car Audio gave me the most professional and personable response, so I went down to see what he could do for me. He gave me a tour of their facility and it was clear that these guys take their business seriously.
Instead of giving me information overload about their products and stacking up a laundry list of things I’ll need, he took the time to really listen and understand what I was looking for. We did some listening tests, and they were the kind where I actually got to listen and judge instead of having a sales pitch hammered into me. He didn’t reciting marketing points from the manufacturer’s packaging or give me a bunch of meaningless buzzwords. He let me listen and decide what I liked. When I asked about the differences between the models that I liked, he was full of useful information but never made me feel like I was being pushed toward anything that was out of my price range or that I didn’t genuinely like. I was sold.
I brought the car in a few days later and Jerry installed my new Hertz speakers. The installation turned out to be more complicated than expected and required additional labor above what had been quoted to me, but Jon honored the price we had agreed upon. I’m extremely happy with my speakers and blown away by the service experience. This place is as far from a rip-​off as you can possibly get. After the experience I had, I wouldn’t take a car anyplace else. Handcrafted Car Audio is outstanding.

I have a 2008 Lexus ES350 I bought recently and I needed a solution to mount my iPhone in the car and have it integrate with the existing audio system. They came up with a quick solution and customized everything to work for me and all within my budget.
The work was clean and my car was not mishandled in any way. they were very sincere in listening to me and more than accommodating.
They also have some spot videos that I saw on you tube which I found by googling them. Once i saw what they were doing I knew I had the right people.
No regrets what so ever!

Jon is the best in the business. My experience with him far exceeded my expectations. I have a late model Infiniti with a factory Bose system that proved extremely difficult to integrate with aftermarket amps and speakers. Jon dedicated so much time and effort into the install and worked through multiple roadblocks with patience and professionalism.
