Great little shop hidden off Az Ave in chandler.
Brandon is a great guy, not like some other tattoo guys that are too cool for whatever you’re thinking. He helped guide me to a far better layout, but without being a jerk about it. Prices were fair, especially given the great quality of the work.

I have been contemplating getting a tattoo for about 15 years now and have checked out a several shops throughout the valley. Most greeted me, showed me their portfolio, and then I never heard a peep out of them again so I left.
I started following a few of the shops in Arizona on Instagram and Apache Tattoo always posted great work. My only dilemma was that I didn’t know what I wanted and I hadn’t really connected with any of the artists or owners at the other shops. I went into the shop and Chunk greeted me right away asking great questions about what brought me into the shop. Once I said that this would be my first tattoo, he sat down with me and talked about size, care, location, what would look good long term, and actually pulled up some samples of artwork on the internet for me to look at so I could narrow down what I wanted. My apprehension about getting a tattoo was gone because Chunk took 10 minutes to talk with me and educate me about tattoos. I went home, picked out what I wanted that night, and was back at his shop the next day getting my first tattoo.
I absolutely love my tattoo and everyone asks me where I got it done. Chunk is an amazing artist and it took a special person for me trust with my first tattoo. The defining moment here for me was that he took the time to make me feel valued and comfortable with something that was brand new to me. It is very rare for a business to do this with their customers and I appreciate it more than words can say. Please support this local business and the fact that Chunk truly cares about his customers and overall happiness. Keep up the great work man! :-)

My wife and I were looking to get wedding band tattoos to celebrate our 20^th anniversary. Neither one of us has a tattoo, so we were nervous about this being our first experience, how much it would hurt, if the artist would make us feel like idiots, etc. In fact, we went to two other shops and both said that they wouldn’t do the tattoos for us. We understood their reasons, being our first ones, a small area, etc., but our thought was mostly «What, do you hate money?»
So, we went to see Chunk, kind of expecting the same thing to happen. Instead of telling us no, Chunk was really helpful and worked so much with us. He was really concerned about us having a positive first tattoo experience and walked us through the whole process, design and all. We ended up going with simple black bands instead of some kind of fancy design, and we are both really happy with the results.
While we were getting the actual tattoos done, Chunk could not have been a better artist. He made sure that we were doing okay, checked in with us often, and made the whole process really comfortable. He even checked in with us the next day to thank us, ask if we had any questions, and to see how we were doing.
I will definitely be going back to Chunk if/​when I decide on another tattoo, and I will highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good, honest tattoo artist who really cares about his clients.

My third experience at Apache went very smoothly. As always, Chunk is respectful, chill, and I’m happy with the result!
I decided to get tattooed on my inner arm and personally, this was one of my most painful tattoos in recent memory (when did I become a giant baby?). Chunk however was really great asking if I was okay, taking breaks when I needed them, and keeping conversation going, which helped keep my mind off the pain! He remained upbeat the entire time which was infectious and much appreciated. This really stood out for me. Yes, a tattoo is gonna hurt but having an artist that’s gonna make you laugh while you’re dying for three hours is much better than someone who is annoyed by you reacting to pain (which I’ve experienced elsewhere). Chunk’s customer service skill’s are phenom. Thanks!

I honestly recommend this place to anyone who wants to feel more than welcome and comfortable while getting ink. This was my first tattoo so the owner gave me plenty of advice and eased my mind a lot. I love my tattoo and is so happy with the results. Will definitely be back for more

Found this shop by sheer luck on a late night tattooing spree and have only gone to him since.
Really great guy, all about his family and loves what he does.
Very traditional style but is always willing to try something new and has tried at least everything once.

Had another awesome experience at Apache Tattoo yesterday! Chunk was thorough and patient and again, the quality was amazing!
I want to update my review because after I had left, Chunk called to tell me I had accidentally overpaid (math is hard… ;)) and offered a solution immediately. He did not have to tell me as I wouldn’t have noticed and I think that speaks volumes to the honesty and professionalism of this place.
I’m sure I’m not the first person in tattoo history to accidentally throw down more cash and I’m certain there are places out there that would immediately pocket that.

I had been debating for years and finally decided to get my first tattoo. After searching Unilocal for listings and reading reviews, I chose Apache Tattoo.
Never really thinking of myself as a «tattoo type,» I was quite nervous about the process and had several questions, which I emailed to the address on the Apache website. Chunk replied in a timely manner. He answered my questions completely and I got a little more comfortable about going through with it, so I headed over to his shop for an in-​person consult. He was very welcoming and kindly and patiently answered more of my questions. I NEVER felt talked down to as I feared I would be, like «duh, you should know this.» He was professional all the way, so I decided to go through with it.
He was able to fit me in a few hours later, which gave me a chance to go grab some cash and eat something. When I returned, Chunk did a great job working with me to narrow down the design, size, and location of the tat he felt would fit my requests in the best way, which was amazing since I had changed my mind about 12 times since my first contact with him. It turned out GREAT and, IF I decide to add to the design, Chunk would definitely be the artist I’d choose!

Chunk is awesome! After hunting for a good shop all day, we were so excited to find Apache thanks to the awesome reviews on Unilocal.I wanted a traditional piece on my arm and knew he’d do a great job because traditional seemed to be his specialty — but it was even better than I thought! My hubby got a black & grey lion with a rose and he loves it. We’ll definitely be back to see Chunk and will be recommending him to our friends.

I was very satisfied with my visit and even more so with my tattoo. «Chunk» was extremely professional and knowledgeable about his work. He did a great job and my new tattoo and the artwork and color is easily one of the best I’ve received. He is detail oriented and it came out in his work. I would definitely recommend this shop.

This shop is by far one of the best, from cleanliness, professionalism, privacy to excellent quality of art! Chunk listened to what I wanted and did just that without making me feel uncomfortable about who/​what/​when and why Im getting what tatted on my skin. Definitely a new loyal customer that will continue to get tattoos from him.

I live in Hermosa Beach and was visiting my mom for the holidays. The places here at the beach are insanely expensive and impossible to get an appointment. I had Brandon «Chunk» do my largest tatoo. I can seriously say he is an artist– I only had a rough idea of what I wanted and he totally got what I meant to create and he tattooed exactly what I was looking for. I LOVE it and get compliments on it too. It is precisely what I wanted.
I am also a total wimp as far as pain threshold and he was incredible about that– really patient– not irritable– vey supportive.
I recommend Apache Tattoo to anyone looking to get a tatoo. I moved out of state a couple of months ago but if I got another one I would wait to go home for Brandon and Apache to do it.

This shop is one of the best I’ve ever gotten work done at. The owner Chunk is one of the best tattoo artists I have ever come across. Fair pricing for level of work that you receive. Everyone that works at the shop is good people. I will continue to go to Apache Tattoo for all of my tattoo needs.

Absolutely the best tattoo shop! My hubby and I actually drove in from CA to get tattooed by Brandon. The shop is clean and totally professional! Brandon is so talented and will tell let you know the best way to do whatever design you come in with. He will make sure you are 100% comfortable before he even sets up and will be sure you’re totally satisfied with the design before he makes the stencil. You never feel intimidated or stupid like other tattoo shops and always get the same professional service. 5 stars all the way!
