Specialties
Charlie Johnson first set up Q Fanatic in 2007 with one mission in mind: to provide mouthwatering barbecue to Champlin natives in a clean, friendly environment. 7 years later, Q Fanatic is quickly becoming a local landmark and barbecue legacy!
At Q Fanatic, we are committed to satisfying our customers with great food and excellent service. Some of our regulars’ favorites include the corn fritters, fall-off-the-bone ribs, sliced brisket, and pulled pork. All of our meats are smoked on a daily basis to bring out the distinct hickory flavor, and our eight house barbecue sauces are made from scratch. Come see why City Pages named us «Best Barbecue 2014»!
We are proud to be a small family-owned and operated business adding to Champlin’s history! Yes, Guy Fieri loves our food, and we hope you will too! We look forward to welcoming you in our doors soon.
History
Established in 2007.
Our family has been in the meat business for over five generations, following Johnson family tradition since the 1800s. We started Q Fanatic in 2007 to serve delicious, fresh-made smoked meat with friendly Midwestern service in Champlin, MN. We have recently been discovered outside the neighborhood and have been working hard to adjust to meet the increasing demand from folks stopping by from around the country and further! With over 7 years of booming success, we look forward to adding you to our history of happy customers.

Charlie J.
Business Owner
Executive chef Charlie Johnson grew up on an organic sheep and dairy goat hobby farm, where he inherited a love of fresh, slow-cooked home food. He attended the prestigious Culinary Institute of America and made his rounds as a chef at several trendy and challenging restaurants, including Capriccio at the Peabody Hotel and Alfredo’s in EPCOT, Disney World. He opened Q Fanatic in 2007 in order to serve up the best barbecue in the Midwest. He loves serving his neighborhood and hopes to provide good, honest food to Champlin natives and visitors alike for many years to come!
