I was at Kane & Co. twice yesterday… one for my haircut with Paul and the next appointment was for my 13 and 10 yr old boys with Amanda. Fabulous cuts and wonderful customer service.

Danielle took care of all of my waxing needs. She was very knowledgable about my skin type (fair and sensitive) and was very thorough, no hair left behind. I am very happy with my results!

I’ve gone here twice, first experience was 5 stars, second was 1 star.
Lola was amazing and cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it, and did a fantastic job with balayage. I highly recommend her.
I went back to see her, but she was unavailable, so I made an appointment with someone else. I asked for the same haircut I had last time, explaining in detail that I wanted it very blunt and no layers. Well, instead she chopped off 2 inches more than expected to a bob, gave me very choppy layers, and bangs. I did not ask for bangs, I even specifically asked for no face-​framing layers.
In short, I think only half of the stylists here actually know what they’re doing.

I had a bad experience the first time cutting my hair at the salon. The owner, Paul, got in touch with me right away and will try to fix the cut.

I see Danielle for my eyebrows and she is amazing! Only person I will go to ever !!

I was looking for someone to cut my hair, I have short, pixie cut. I read one of the reviews which recommended Lauren. She was great, I’ve gone 3 – 4 times, I plan to continue having her cut my hair.

I have naturally curly hair that I sometimes like blown out straight (not an easy task since my hair is also long). While I have been to other stylists at Kane & Co., no one there (or even in many salons in nyc) has done quite as good a job as Jen can do. Jen does an amazing job every time — my hair looks great the entire day (ie. humidity-​proof, shiny). She is also a really cool girl with fun colorful hair and a great attitude — spending an hour with Jen is always a treat!

Came here for a drastic haircut today and loved it! Wasnt sure what i was looking for but my stylist definitely led me in a good direction. her name was jen and she was super cool! Will be coming back!

Very «big city» style salon in Champaign which makes me a huge fan. Most of the staff is very friendly and easy to talk to. They do the full range of work expertly and their stylists all know what they’re doing. I love coming in here.
The only downside is the pricing. It’s still central Illinois at the end of the day and the work can be a bit pricey in that sense. Otherwise, this is my favorite, and really only, place I go for haircuts and miscellaneous hair work done in Champaign– Urbana.

Yo… If Paul Pierce is the truth, so is Chandra H., Jenn Penn and Danielle S. I just gave you three names whose minds and hands are the fountain of youth and make you forget your real name cuz you thinking you Stella and you got your groove back. Before I met these women, I didn’t have shine… now I got shine. And all for a total of $ 200 — that’s for hair, face and feet. That’s effin’ cheap considering that people spend $ 5000 for botox and hair surgery. Before them, people would always comment how tired I looked, now? Either people figured out that that is rude to say (though I doubt it) and don’t tell me or I don’t look tired. If you are looking to match your inner beauty with your outer beauty, go here. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve gotten probably 4 or 5 facials from Danielle at this point, and I truly can’t say enough good things about her. I’m in my late 20s and all the sudden within the last year started getting serious hormonal breakouts that were super persistent. I’ve spent so much time and money reading every article about getting rid of acne, trying every product that anyone has said good things about, and even was trying vitamins and teas and other crazy stuff to see if I could get any relief. I got products from a dermatologist that worked alright, but still weren’t resolving my issues entirely and didn’t seem particularly tailored to me as an individual. From the first time I went to Danielle it was obvious just how knowledgable she is, and she’s amazing and looking at your individual needs. I still have the occasional zit, but nothing like I’ve been dealing with, and even when I get them, they go away so much more quickly. Maybe best of all, all the scarring and hyperpigmentation that’s been so awful that I have not wanted to leave the house without makeup on is visibly diminishing with each facial. Danielle can really handle any skin concerns and is super generous with her insights. Save yourself the time and money spent trolling the internet for products and information on skincare, and just book some time with Danielle instead.
And, my previous review still totally stands! Between Danielle and John, I’m currently going here every time I need to feel good about my skin/​hair.

I went to Amanda the other day to get a bayalage and it looks great, I love it! It looks almost exactly like the picture I brought in. My hair is a previously box-​dyed (whoops) brown and she lightened the bottom to a lovely dark caramel/​red color. She was very attentive and checked on me a few times while the color processed, and reapplied the lightener when needed! Then she blow-​dried and curled my hair for me and it looked amazing. I would definitely see her for another dye appointment!
Also if you’ve never been to Kane and Co before, I’m always offered drinks and they make sure you are very comfortable. It’s always a good experience for me!

I am a new customer to Kane & Company and I’ve been incredibly pleased so far! Amanda did my hair for my wedding and I see Michelle for facials and waxing. They are all so friendly and helpful! Even though I’ve only been there a few times they treat me like I’ve been there forever. I will definitely be going back for just about everything.

I see Danielle for facials and waxing and I HIGHLY recommend her. I’ve been her customer for 6 years and wouldn’t see anyone else. She’s very knowledgeable, patient, kind, and non-​judgemental. I have been going to Kane and Company for a little over a year since moving to champaign area for a job. Jillian was recommended to me by a friend and she has done an absolute phenomenal job every single time! She’s amazing with coloring and cutting my hair exactly how I want. I highly recommend her!

The same. Went there after seeing so many five star reviews on Unilocal.And the second visit totally ruined my hair. For sure will never ever go there again.
First, it’s very pricy. Forty-dollar’s hair cut. It’s not worth the price.
I have tried twice. The first time I chose my stylist based on the profiles from their website and I got a «not satisfied» hair cut. I thought it’s okay as I might not be lucky in picking the right stylist.
After a few months, I gave a second try. I totally obeyed their stylist recommendation and this time was even worse! The stylist was unprofessional — part of my dress was wet after the hair wash! The experience in salon was not great and the hair style after the cut was not something I wanted at all. Now I’ll have to wait for my hair growing and some part of my hair she cut takes a year to grow back to the original length! Almost a month after the hair cut, I am still frustrated when seeing my hair in mirror.
After twice attempts with totally disappointed hair cut, for sure will never ever go there again. Be cautious when choosing this salon and may consider saving your forty bucks and go get a fine dining meal.

Wow… So incredibly unprofessional! I scheduled a 7:00 appointment a week in advance, as I was taking the train in from Chicago for a special event for the same evening and they are the closest salon to the train station and I did not know of any salons in the area. They said they had no record of my appointment being made. I was stuck with dirty, undone hair for a very special event and they acted like they could have cared less and made no attempt to fit me in. I have never been so disappointed (including some bad perms in the eighties) by a salon in my life. I am from California, where customer service is paramount to staying in business. Kane & Company would never last there.

After reading the reviews of this place I decided to give it a try. It’s is a pretty place and unfortunately that is all I can say good about it. I went for a cut and color. I was specific about what I wanted too.
As for the cut, well it was a trim. I asked for long layers and bangs. I got neither.
The color I asked for bright blonde highlights and some chunks of red (specifically, I wanted the bright fire engine red) around my face. What I got was two tiny strands of a coppery/​pink color that you cannot see at all and that have now (1week later) completely faded. As for the bright blonde highlights– they are non existent.
My hair looked exactly the same as when I went into the place. I expect to see what someone has done when paying that kind of money. The stylist did speak to the owner and they did «take some money off» my service. But that is a very small amount.
I wanted to like this place. I will not return and cannot in good conscious recommend this place to anyone.

From receptionist to stylists, Kane and Co is professional and friendly. I came here first about a year ago to have my make-​up done by Alex for a professional photo shoot… Fabulous! When my stylist Johnathon moved here from another salon I happily followed! He’s the best and I would recommend him for anyone wanting a great cut and/​or color.

I took my daughter here for a fun, upbeat cut and some bold coloring. As soon as I called the lady on the phone said i have just the stylist for you! We scheduled an appointment with Lauren and my daughter had the best cut and color she’s ever had! ! I meant to leave this review sooner but here we are 2 weeks later … and I’m happy to say the color is still vibrant and we are very pleased with the way the color has stayed and has yet to fade.. I plan on scheduling myself an appointment I’ll review that one also! Hopefully I’ll be just as pleased.
Update: Lauren has cut and colored my hair multiple times now since my original review. So happy to of found the perfect hair stylist for me!
