Established in 2007.

Coffeekid the studio has been operating under several names since 2007 first starting as a mobile studio in a closet. Now located in the basement of a beautiful red brick home located in Gary, Indiana. The concept of having it in a home was inspired by a visit to Nashville, Tennesse’s Music Row.

Business Owner

Founder Desmond Shuford officially established Coffeekid The Studio while attending the University of Illinois in Urbana/​Champaign back in 2011 with the help of a Lamar Farr who now ventures on his own audio engineering endeavors. While at the University Desmond was able to work within the Multimedia Department where he was able to provide sound for student campus organizations and other soon to be big name artists. Desmond has always had the passion for making events stand out by adding that unique touch whether it be through equalization, reverb, or delays to an artist’s set. All of whom have thanked him and his team generously for a great night.
