Cheap, delicious, and fast. Can’t get any better than that. Ordered the two meats over rice– with bbq pork and char siu. It came with rice, soup(varies daily) Chinese bok Choy, and a cup for tea or water. It was only $ 7! The first time we had this the bbq pork was pretty fatty, but the following day, it was delicious. So it really varies on the type of roasted pig you’re getting. Additionally, we also ordered another combo and tried the cuttle fish and soy sauce chicken which was yummy as well. The soy sauce chicken comes with the ginger/green onion and oil mixture which really compliments the chicken! I couldn’t get a picture of the cuttle fish and soy sauce chicken combo cause we were too hungry, unfortunately. This place is closed on Wednesdays!

This is a little store in a food court in Chinatown. These is a great place to get heo quay(roasted pig, crispy) and dry beef chow fun. The heo quay was great because it was super crispy without being too fatty. The chow fun was great and exactly what I’ve been looking for since I’ve gotten to ATL… other places I’ve tried, the seasoning has been too salty or bland with no flavor whatsoever. Though this is in Chinatown, there is a great diversity of patrons who visit here. This is definitely a great stop for lunch if you’re looking for something different.

This is my go to place for Chinese BBQ — duck, soy sauce chicken, pork with crispy skin, char siu pork, its all good! This place has been open foo 20+ years and they are consistently good. Their specialty is the Chinese BBQ so you can try other dishes, but I always go back to their BBQ.

I am really digging the Chinatown foodcourt right now. I have ate at 3 restaurants here in the past 12 hours and I must say my tummy is pretty happy. I ordered a little over 2lbs of crispy pork(heo quay in Vietnamese) from Hong Kong BBQ. This is a dish I am very familiar with. In the past I have often gotten shafted by the butcher who picks out pieces whose meat to fat ratio lies heavily towards the fat side. No bueno. Who wants to eat a mouthful of fat? Wait. A lot of people probably do but not I. Fortunately, I did not have that experience at Hong Kong BBQ. The meat to fat ratio was weighted towards the meat side. Hurray! If you are still with me following my meat to fat ratio rant, I would also like to inform you that the meat was not over cooked. When overcooked the meat tends to be dry and chewy but the dish offered to me was very succulent. So I recommend the crispy pork. Give it a shot my minions! I will be back to try their other dishes. Stay tuned!

The BBQ is good as any Chinese BBQ restaurant in San Francisco. The duck, soy sauce chicken, two types of pork(my favorite is the one with crispy skin) are all fresh, cooked to perfection and tasty. The meat is fresh because they are always busy with customers so the meats do not sit there for long! I have ordered their dry and wet beef chow fun and is executed well. Also the wonton soup is done right, although it has only shrimp and real wonton soups have pork in it as well. Highly recommend this place, unless you want to take a trip to San Francisco!

Everything here is amazing. The roasted pork is out of this world. Do yourself a favor and eat here.

Hong Kong BBQ is the way to go if you’re looking for Chinese style duck. They offer both roasted and open pressed, in half size or the whole duck. The roast duck is juicy, while open pressed is leaner and covered with hoisin sauce on the outer skin. Either way you go, it’s going to be delicious. Another favorite here is the dry beef chow fun. They give you a huge portion so you can share between two people. The only downside about this place is that they only accept cash. The first time I came, I ended up having to draw money out of the ATM which takes a lot of fees.

I was disappointed with this place after I had dinner at the foodcourt. I ordered the duck plate and it looked great. When I started eating the duck I noticed that almost all of it was bone. I know this isn’t a «nice» sit down restaurant but I don’t think the part of the duck I got should have ever gone out to a customer. You can see the assortment of BBQ meats behind the clear glass hanging. In addition to the BBQ they also have a wide assortment of other dishes available varying from curry to stir fry. They have complimentary tea on the side and same as the other places in the food court this place is cash only.

Really great crispy duck. Located in the Chinese food court in Chinatown, it can be a little intimidating to order because it’s mostly Chinese and other r languages written and being shouted all around. But they are friendly and will help. Delicious and portions are big.

Crispy duck is totally the way to go. So crispy and flavorful. My three year old loved it! Beware of bones, though! Still so good! GETTHEDUCK!!! We also got the salted fish fried rice? I think that’s what it was. It was pretty good, but very salty. We got this due to a miscommunication between me and my husband, I meant for him to get the spicy fish hot pot from another stall and he got this from HKBBQ instead. It wasn’t bad, my daughter and I ate most of it, but it was a little overly salty for my taste.

Great place and missed this after a 4 months absence. Got the Triple Combo(Honey Pork, Duck and Chicken) all perfectly cooked with a huge order to share of Fried Rice Seafood Noodles. We got a great mix with the sauce and between four, it disappeared mysteriously after a thorough inspection of all the meat pieces were all cooked through! Love the value for less than $ 20 and feed 4 hungry cannibals into a quiet meal with not one complaint save for the belt loosening and burping after!

Ordered the dry beef flat noodle dish. Probably the best I’ve had in Atlanta. Perfect noodle to beef ratio. Flavor was spot on with a nice smokiness. Been to Hong Kong many times and had this dish there. I can say this is comparable to the dish there.

I won’t pretend to be a cantonese style-bbq expert but I think this place has the best BBQ. I think their actual dishes are okay but the meats themselves are the best think. BBQ pork, roast pork and soy sauce chicken– can’t go wrong. As a side note, the issue with soy sauce chicken is that almost all places cook the bird whole. This is always a problem because white and dark meat finish at different cookt temps and length. Usually, this results in drier white meat… This is always the issue at any canto bbq place.IMO.

This is my to go place when I’m craving for noodles. This place has the best 3 kind of meat Hong Kong noodles! Too die for! In the dish, honey bbq, duck and chicken. You have to order all three to get the flavor of this noodles! Trust me if you only order one kind of meat, is not that great! I try both ways and then figure out the three kind of meat has way way more flavor. They have all kind of food here and everything is good as well. Their rice over honey bbq meats is good as well.

This is some pretty darned good duck. Comparable to Ming’s BBQ duck, for sure. We ordered half a roasted duck to go, but took a few bites of it while enjoying our dinner. Cash only, as are all the other storefronts in the food court. An ATM is available a few yards from the shop. The three guys working the counter chatted with me the entire time while I placed my order and while they chopped the meat to box up. I paid for the duck and left quickly, but I can’t say they weren’t friendly. The food here is legit! While I can’t say it’s the best I’ve had in Atlanta, it’s a solid choice in the food court for Chinese BBQ.

I’m not sure if it make a difference coming here on a Saturday night, an ordering something other than the roasted pork, but it definitely made me like this plate much better my second visit. Service is still unfriendly. No «How are yo,’ or «What would you like to order,» or even a smile has ever been heard or seen from the big guy behind the counter. But the roasted duck, when you clarify you don’t mind waiting and you want it hot, is worth the visit. It is succulent, tender, and comes in a sauce you could happily dip anything with. For the strength of the roasted duck alone this place is A-Ok in my book.

This is my go-to spot for Chinese barbecue meat(roast duck and roast pork), noodle dish or rice congee. Fast(if I am lucky to be the first few in the line or arrive here before peak period) and affordable authentic Cantonese dishes can be found here. Service is very friendly too. My usual order will be one or a few of the below: 1) roast duck 2) roast pork 3) chicken rice congee(perfect when I want to have something light and healthy) 4) fok ken chow mai fun(vermicelli +roast pork, shrimps, egg & bean sprouts) 5) dry beef chow fun(flat rice noodle with beef) The menu is extensive but I tend to stick to what I like. I guess the next time I should really try something new. The food court has undergone a renovation, I noticed new floor, tables and chair. The entire place probably even has a fresh coat of paint. It looks way better than before. Before I will not even think of sitting on one of those chairs, let alone eating inside the food court. I was actually sitting on a chair last evening and looking at the menu while waiting for my takeout order. Hong Kong BBQ is a great unpretentious place. If you like it simple, no frills and authentic food, you should give this place a try!

Not a bad place for some quick Cantonese barbecue. Here, you can order soy sauce chicken, roast pork, barbecue pork, and roast duck. There are also the typical Cantonese noodle dishes(for example, pan fried noodles), which I didn’t get to sample. My meal was prepared quickly. No credit cards accepted at this establishment. You can order in Cantonese or English, but if your Chinese is bad like mine, you’re not at a disadvantage ordering in English. The barbecue meat with rice dishes also comes with a vegetable soup and a small side of Chinese vegetables. Both were light. I’m not sure if the soup selection rotates, but it should be noted that many Chinese vegetable soups(including the one here) are flavored with little bits of meat. You also get the right amount of barbecue seasoning(green onions and soy sauce) served on your rice. If you want a fast Chinese barbecue meal at a reasonable price, this place is worth a stop. The food isn’t outstanding, but it isn’t bad either. Also, given its location in a Chinese food court, you can always mix and match with other types of Chinese cuisine.

I had never even heard of the Chinatown Food Court, let alone Hong Kong BBQ, until just a few weeks ago. A large group of friends wanted to grab at the Chinatown Food Court on a Saturday evening, so I was eager to see what the hype was about. As a non-Chinese person, I have to admit I was intimidated by the food court. Yes, it is intimidating when I can’t read the menus at most of the restaurants. Those who could read the menus had a difficult time translating what the menu items were(?!!). Luckily for me, there was Hong Kong BBQ. Hong Kong BBQ actually had a menu in English! I breathed a sigh of relief and proceeded to ask the fluently English-speaking employee what he would recommend for me to try. For some reason, he had a hard time thinking of what was most popular. Ultimately, I decided to get the three meats over rice — roasted duck, crispy pork, and BBQ pork. * Three Meats Over Rice — I can’t recall exactly how much this was, but it was definitely less than $ 7, and it includes a small bowl of soup. I had never tried this soup before, but it contained tofu skin, which I wasn’t a fan of. The duck, crispy pork, and BBQ pork were very good! The baby bok choy was the perfect veggie to go with the meats and rice. It wasn’t a lot of food, but it was the perfect portion for one person. Overall, Hong Kong BBQ in the Chinatown Food Court gets 4 stars for their cheap and tasty meats over rice. Like many of the other restaurants in the food court, this place is cash only, so be sure to stop by the ATM before you head over. If you’re a first-time, non-Chinese Chinatown Food Court visitor, this is the perfect place to try some good, affordable food. [Review 354 of 366]

Hong Kong BBQ used to be my favorite stand in the Chinatown Food Court. Mostly because 15 years ago, I couldn’t read anything else at the other places. My Taiwanese friend at that time introduced me to HKBBQ. So ever since then, I always got the Liang Bao Fan(2 meats over rice) or San Bao Fan(3 meats over rice). Eventually, the Chinatown Food Court stopped catering to only Chinese speaking people and provided English menus. Slowly I tried other places at the Chinatown Food Court like Chong Qing, Yanmi Yanmi, and Lan Zhou. But since I’ve been to Hong Kong BBQ so much, it has a special place in my heart. I went back the other day and wondered if my old favorite was still good. I got the Char Siu and Duck over rice. The char siu didn’t have much flavor. It also seemed dry and overcooked. The duck didn’t seem bad. It had decent flavor and was moist. Overall, the dish lacked the flavor I wanted. Maybe they needed to add a bit more lo shui sauce to the dish. One thing I noticed is that they have a huge English menu consisting of a lot of curry dishes. I didn’t look at the menu too carefully, but I couldn’t see Chow Fun or San Bao Fans on the menu. But they will make it for you if you ask for it.
