Martha’s La Look Day Spa

Great location and Libby is great, I go to her for all my waxes/​spray tans! Everyone is also so nice when you are there too!

I received a massage at La Look Spa. The treatment itself was well-​delivered, but I have to say that it was a really unpleasant experience for me anyway and I found myself unable to relax. The spa is hidden away at the back of Tanglewood Square, which I had never been to before and which is completely decrepit. To get to the spa you have to drive around past the loading docks behind a dilapidated K Mart. Then when I entered I found that although it was Saturday afternoon, I was the only client in sight. And the therapist to whom I was assigned (who turned out to be a very nice man) was balding, ponytailed, wearing a mesh jersey and, well, didn’t give off a typical ‘spa’ appearance.
Any one of these factors taken by itself wouldn’t have upset me, but the confluence was a little more than I could handle. Instead of feeling comfortable, I felt anxious the whole time, and I left with more stress than I went in with. In a massage situation, which requires trust to allow you to relax, it’s important to create a relaxing climate. La Look didn’t work for me.
