The Popcorn Shop is an historic icon of the quaint Village of Chagrin Falls, located in the heart right on the falls. In business since 1949, and built in 1875 we’ve been visited by Presidents of the United States, Celebrities and travelers from all over the world. History

Established in 1949.

Established in 1875 as the retail store for the mill located on the river. I was reported that it was a stop on the Underground Railroad during that time. it was transformed into The Popcorn Shop in 1949 and remains the iconic heart of the quaint Village of Chagrin Falls.

I’m a born, raised and proud Clevelander, diehard Browns, Indians and Cavs fan, and have worn many hats in my career. I owned and operated concert clubs Peabody’s Café and Peabody’s DownUnder. Promoted concerts and festivals such as The BP RiverFest. I’ve owned and operated Pete & Deweys Planet at Jacobs Field and Gund arena (the Indians & Cavs play there). I owned and promoted Teahouse Noodles and consequently Teaka Noodles. Now I have The Popcorn Shop in Chagrin Falls and Deweys Coffee at Shaker Square

Yes! I got some of their popcorn when I was home for the holidays and just opened up bag today. We got the brown and orange hometown mix — cheddar cheese and caramel — so good! I definitely recommend if in the area. Their pre-​packaged bags really keep it fresh and the cheddar used doesn’t really leave your fingers orange, unlike some other snacks of this kind.

Love the quality of coffee (fair trade! much better than starbucks!!) there. If I’m ever in the mood for coffee thats the go-​to spot. Popcorn/​kettle corn is obviously great, and the novelty items make it quaint. Lovely that it’s right over the waterfall, too.

Great little place. Popcorn was fresh and delcious and very reasonably priced. We are from California so we are used to high prices for everything. The ice Chocolate Overload ice cream was very good as well. The staff was friendly and helpful. I love the look of this place. Prefect spot to grab an ice cream and look over the falls just next door.

Very fun and nostalgic without being kitschy and overcharging for a novelty (like a lot of places do). Very family friendly and they take Entertainment Book coupons. Grab a scoop and sit by the falls right underneath the building! This is basically the epicenter of town so it can be a tad crowded and crazy but its worth it. All the girls there were pleasant and helpful. Credit cards taken over $ 5.00 so bring cash ya cheap bastid…

Walked around Chagarin Falls on this pretty day and grabbed some popcorn after hearing much hype about this place! The popcorn was GREAT!!! A bit pricey but definitely worth it. I tried the kettle corn and my boyfriend tried double cheddar with sea salt. They were both awesome and there are plenty of benches to sit down and enjoy it.

Took a stroll around chagrin falls today for the first time and couldn’t resist going here. I felt like Charlie walking in to by his Wonka bar. The walls are covered in bright candies, chocolates, and popcorn, and ice creams and sodas behind the counter. It was all pretty surprising, considering the chipped white exterior which initially caught my attention among all its brick neighbors.
My boyfriend and I both tried the Ghirardelli hot chocolate. Super rich and chocolately, and absolutely scorching hot. Perfect for walking around the cute little town center on a cold day. If (and when) we make a second trip, I’d like to try some of the ice cream, the hard serve looks amazing.

Its a popcorn place, get popcorn! The kettle corn is the best I’ve ever had. This place is much better than Campbell’s Sweets. I will definitely be back when in Cleveland.

Went there today. Sales clerk was very rude to us because we were using a Groupon *why even have them if no one wants to honor them without an issue). I could not upgrade to get a flavored popcorn and the regular one was stale and inedible.

Took a quick walk around Chagrin downtown today before heading to brunch. As always the Popcorn Shop was looking cute and welcoming. Despite the actual building feeling like it’s going to cave into the falls at a moments notice, it’s still the most exciting building to visit in my little hometown bubble.
Is there «better» coffee and ice cream nearby? Of course, right next door actually. But the Popcorn Shop is the epitome is happy nostalgia. I’d pick supporting this place over Starbucks or Jeni’s any day! I advise trying out the popcorn, toffee chocolates (if they still do that), and the retro candy they stock.

I have been going to the Chagrin Falls Popcorn Shop for years now and have never had a bad experience. The store is located in a beautiful location and has a beautiful view of the falls. It is best to sit outside though because the store itself is pretty cramped. I prefer to come here in the spring and summer. I have had both the ice cream and popcorn here and I am a huge fan of both. I love the small town feel and the service I receive every time I go.

If you are going to be in Chagrin, there is nothing much better than grabbing some ice cream from the Popcorn Shop, and taking a nice stroll through the park by the falls. What a perfect summer day!
And in the winter just have yourself some coffee or hot chocolate with a side of popcorn! :)

I was ants-​in-​my-​pants excited to try out the Popcorn Shop; I love local places that have survived the decades, and I had read many favorable reviews. The buttered and kettle popcorn and salt-​water taffy I bought were yummy, no doubt, but the shop seemed pretty picked over. There were only about five flavors of popcorn left, and the bags looked rather squished while the kernels appeared in bits. I was there on a Saturday afternoon in the middle of winter; I’m unsure if a large crowd had cleared the shelves earlier in the day or if they simply don’t prepare for much business in the colder months. (I’m positive it attracts a lot of foot traffic in the summer as it is located right by the waterfalls.) The candy and ice cream selection was rather small as well.
If you are a popcorn aficionado, I would suggest Campbell’s Sweets Factory with locations in Ohio City and Lakewood as well as a stand at the West Side Market. The family owned stores feature dozens of popcorn flavors, along with handmade chocolates and cupcakes.

Staff is friendly, The store is in a gorgeous location and is very cute. I did not try the popcorn-​however, the hot tea is very good as well as the iced. It’s small inside, but charming, and product is well stocked. They also carry candy, gift baskets, ice creams and coffee. You can also purchase small bottles of Torani syrups here (I wish they’d sell the large bottles!)
The only downside to this place is they don’t put lids on your beverages and you need to walk over to the creamer bar and get your own lids and stuff, which normally is not a big deal except the place is so cramped it’s very easy to spill or knock something over. Anyway, I like this place; it’s very appealing to adults and children alike. Also, they will ship gifts for you. :)

Snap, Crackle, Pop — Nostalgia!
If you haven’t been to Chagrin Falls, it’s really worth a Saturday afternoon trip when the weather is warm. And once you get there, save some room for popcorn at the local popcorn shop.
It’s the type of place whose cozy ambience is comforting as the smell of hot butter, sweet caramel, and a zest of salt. The shop seems to glow on a cold day, from the warmth of the inside, to the bright bags of popcorn already prepared, to the comfort of the yummy aromas wafting in the air.
Grab a bag of popcorn, then head to the falls to enjoy some scenery with your snack. This is one place that won’t leave you hungry!

Well done, popcorn shop. When my boyfriend pulled me away from the overpriced priced Jeni’s next door, I was expecting boring, bland Pierre’s style ice cream (don’t get me started on Pierre’s) but reluctantly agreed to try it out. I ended up smiling all around, and here’s why:
–Solid flavors, including staples like Mint Chocolate Chip (actually mint cookie, which is like combining puppies and rainbows for a mint chocolate chip/​cookies and cream aficionado like myself) as well as more unique ones, like the Salted Caramel flavor I tried which was damn good. I’m craving it still.
–Service was incredibly sweet and friendly. I was given a cake cone (which is clearly for suckers) without realizing it, and the girl behind the counter without hesitation offered to switch it onto a sugar cone for me– likely when she noticed the despair in my eyes. Maybe she’s used to diverting little kid tantrums in there, I don’t know, but she was great.
–Price– honestly you can’t beat this. Really cheap. I think the two of us made it out of there on $ 5
–The store– very cute old timey candy shop. A few small tables and seats to look down onto the falls while you enjoy your treats.
–The falls! There was nothing better than getting a couple scoops with my love and enjoying the beautiful, sunny autumn day walking around the falls.
I won’t be so reluctant next time :)
