A Garden of Yarn

A nice little shop tucked away in a plaza. Prices are in the specialty range as expected. Friendly staff the times I have shopped. Hours are different than on their website– may want to call first. Beautiful projects on display to inspire!

I have been a customer here for years so not sure about the other reviews I see here. The yarns are beautiful and high quality –not the cheap stuff you see at large chain stores. My scarves and articles receive high praise — never had anyone call my work garish. As for the staff, they have always been willing to answer my questions and professional. No, they are not barrel of monkeys wild cheerleaders (which I’d personally be wierded out by in a yarn store). I would say somber, serious and professional. What’s wrong with that?

Total disappointment. Messy, featuring garish colors and novelty yarns. Unfriendly staff. Stopped in to browse and was ignored, even after I took the time to help another customer who had a simple question brushed off by the staff. Waste of my time, and I won’t be back.

Garden of Yarn is a yarn-​lovers dream! Every imaginable type, color, price-​point of yarn exists within this shop along with oodles of patterns and magazines. There’s a large room of baby/​child yarns too.
The downside? The owner is absolutely miserable.
One of the last times I went into her shop, I audaciously asked her a simple knitting question. There was noone else in the shop and it seemed an easy question for someone with experience to answer.
She huffed and said, «Okay. Just so you know for the future, I only answer questions on Mondays and Thursdays.» She was SERIOUS, too! And there was nobody else in the shop at the time!
She’s someone who should not be dealing with customers at all. She doesn’t know how to smile or act gracious or even display a shopkeeper’s basic courteousness of welcoming someone into her shop.
That’s why I had to give her shop two stars. The yarns are gorgeous, but the keeper of the yarns is unpleasant.

Unfriendly and unhelpful. Came in asking for a pattern and was told to look at the samples. Neither owner or staff offered to look through books Or help in any way. I would not come in here again.
