Seem-Ren Threading Salon

I’ve been getting my eyebrows done for the last 15 years. I have a high tolerance for pain, but a very low tolerance for cuts. This is the 2^nd time that I have ever gotten cuts. And it was painful. I won’t be going back here again.
You should not be getting cuts via threading.

I’ve been coming here for at least 4 years and it’s the ONLY place I get my brows done. All the ladies are great and always have my brows looking on point! I’ve never had any issues, there’s rarely a wait and they’re fast. The brow stamp card gets you a free threading with every 10 stamps. They also wax, which I haven’t tried because I always go with the treading. They’re awesome!

I recommend this place sophia is a very happy person fist time I came to dye my hair was very damage and after the color and the treatment i was very surprised i have 1 year coming with sophia and btw i for got to talk about the threading I love their job I recommend this place 5+*****

My growing out pixie was becoming unmanageable. My regular stylist was booked solid Saturday and is closed Sunday. I could not go into the work week looking a mess.
I search all through nearby Unilocal places and they were either closed or fully booked for half day. Around 3pm, I found Sophia on Unilocal and read the reviews. Figured I call and give it a try. No answer on the first number, then I remembered some one saying she moved and had different digits. I called that alternate number, rang and went to voicemail (figured she was closed).
Within five minutes, she called me back. I told her I was calling to see if she was open for a hair cut. She said she is closed. She re-​asked me what service I was looking for. I said hair cut for sure and potential wave perm. She said she was only five minutes away and I told her I could be there in ten. Awesome, she is working on my hair even on her off day. Kudos!
I get to her location which is in this threading salon. She is a Korean lady. Welcomed me with a smile. She told me the wave perm would be $ 70. I agreed and she got to it.
She put my hair up in rollers, even my very short hair in back. I was quite impressed. She definitely takes her work seriously and makes sure it is to her expectation.
Pros:
1) she accommodated me on an off day
2) meticulous about her work and provides realistic
expectations
3) friendly
4) she taught me how to preserve and style my new perm
Cons:
1) I think she re-​uses her processing disposable shower cap (I saw her wash it and hang it up to dry).
2) the dry towels do not smell like clean laundry. Kind of smelled stale and un-​fresh.
3) a few things fell to the ground and she just picked it up and re-​used it.
* the thought of head lice did cross my mind.
Location: the threading salon is a bit run down looking.
Payment options: the threading salon takes credit and cash. She ONLY TAKES CASH. Luckily, I had some money on me but not a convenient option.
The perm turned out nice. She also accompanied it with a trim so my head would not be so heavy due to my thick hair (thoughtful).
She definitely has the skill and talent. I am just not fond of the location. The cash payment is also a deterrent. I am not sure if I will return in the future.

Neelam did a good job! She took her time and got all the hairs out that were visible to me. I got the full face threading here. It was $ 30. I came here to get my haircut, colored, and styled by Sophia! Ms. Sophia is also excellent with hair. It is great to have two beauty things done at one place!

This is a review for their eyebrow threading!
I came here once only because my brows were in need of threading and my usual place was closed. but I am never coming back! I don’t remember the lady’s name, but she was not gentle at all. I’m used to having my brows threaded, so having my hairs plucked out normally doesn’t bother me, but she was just too rough. Also, my brows are naturally on the fuller side, so I was shocked to find that she had left the head/​base of my brows looking sparse. The only thing that she succeeded in was keeping my brows’ natural shape/​arch, so there’s one star for that.

So, after having my eyebrows terribly butchered by a threading salon in the plaza on Artesia and Downey…(please beware)… I decided to go back to where I used to go downtown LB. Fortunately, I felt like having Tapioca Express so I made the trip to Cerritos to get a tea. I saw Seem-​Ren threading right around the corner of the entry way of the theater. I’m such an eyebrow girl, so when good looking eyebrows are important! I thought, «Hey, let me try this place.» Thankfully I did! Amazing threading!!:) Always in and out of there in a flash, and the ladies are all very good at threading and are super nice! They only take a few minutes then add astringent, which I feel makes my nicely shaped eyebrows last! I make the trip here every few weeks, then treat myself with some tea… haha. Thank you ladies!

The best place to go for threading hands down. We’ve been loyal customers for years now who followed these gals from across the street from Cerritos mall to the town center. This place is located in a great center where you can shop grab some coffee & get your brows done all in one trip. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent super friendly service & fabulous brows. I’ve never had a bad experience nor have witnessed any unsatisfied customers in all my time there. Check them out! Trust me you won’t regret it & you’ll leave there looking fabulous!

I’m giving this place two stars because I’ve been coming here for several years for eyebrow threading and it’s been pretty good service. The employees are super nice and shape my eyebrows nicely.
However, the past two times I went in have been horrible. The lady I had was rushing and was being a little too harsh. The last time I went in the place was empty but she still rushed! I ended up with cuts and I am so disappointed. I’m never coming back here again.

I stopped in on an emergency basis. I recently moved and had not had a single day off to take care of grooming. And then i decided to go up to SD for a conference on my only day off, so I was pretty frantic when it was 7ish and I still had not taken care of my grooming… Long story huh?
What it boils down to… I wish these ladies were closer. Great job @ a reasonable price. They cleaned me up nicely, did not leave me thin or sparse. They faked the funk very well. If I were in the area, I’d come back.

I come here to get my hair cut and styled by Naima and she’s great! She has over 30yrs experience and does a fantastic job every time! She sees my whole family, does great clipper cuts for my husband and my son. She is so great, I’ve sent people to her for color and perms and they always come back super happy! I also sent her my neighbor who is older and she loved how she did her shampoo set.
I highly recommend Naima!

I am REALLY picky when it comes to eyebrows. I always want my eyebrows to be done perfectly. Seema threaded my eyebrows and she is amazing. It did not even hurt one bit. I also love how clean this salon is! All the employees are very friendly. I will definitely be coming back here all the time now to get my eyebrows threaded. DEFINITELY try this salon out ! You won’t regret it !

Nice clean looking place. I can’t believe how naïve I was. After all how difficult could it be to «just clean the bottom part»? I was VERY specific about what I wanted. I told the girl repeatedly «I WANT THICK EYEBROWS, just clean up the bottom part, DO NOT TOUCH THE CENTER!». Ok sure she said. After what seemed an eternity of painful threading, literally I could feel every brow being pulled out I was handed a mirror.
I was not happy. My eyebrows looked like two thin lines. I started to cry. The girl saw my dissatisfaction and she tried to tell me that all she did was «clean up my eyebrows». I was so unhappy with the results, AND still had to pay. :(

Whoever wrote positive reviews for this place are either friends or family members. They use thick thread (meant for sewing clothes) and you feel every single hair that they pull. I went to the girl on the first station to the right and she has the heaviest hand. Please avoid this place! $ 5 isn’t worth the pain you experience.

This place is unassuming and hard to find… I was looking for it and just happened to notice it when I was walking by… I think if I was somewhere else in the Towne Center, I would have needed to consult a directory to find this spot.
On to the service — when I walked in, I was the only customer in the place — which kind of scared me — and the girls working there didn’t appear to be actually expecting anyone — lol.
This was the MOST painful threading I have EVER had! Seriously, it hurt! I think I had my teeth ground together the entire time. HOWEVER, having said that, it was VERY quick (so quick that I was sure when I was handed the mirror that I was going to have to ask her to go back and «touch it up»). I have to say, I was SHOCKED and how wonderful my brows came out. They look great, have a perfectly wonderful arch, and are still looking good 1 week later (that’s my criteria — they have to look good awhile afterwards!). I think it was $ 7 or $ 8 — totally reasonable.
Also — my little one was with me and when the girl that worked there was cashing me out, she brought out a candy jar and let my little one pick out which kind she wanted (after OK-​ing it with me). Nicely done all around, SeemRen.
So, basically, if you have five minutes, you can walk out with great looking brows, but you have to take a bit of pain for the convenience of that… Totally worth it, I’ll be back.

Great service and never been disappointed on my eyebrows. They also have a loyalty rewards program.

If youre looking for a place to get threaded this is the place to go. Seema is one of the sweetest people there. I’ve been going to for 10 years now. I was so excited when she opened up her own shop. I also get my brazilian waxed done here too and I definitely would suggest going here for that service as well. Shawna is the waxer and she makes you feel comfortable because we all know that getting waxed down there is something we all dread. If looking for a great place for an affordable price, Seem-​Ren is the place to go!

I always tell the threaders not to make my eyebrows too thin. I had this young lady today (in her 20s?) instead of the older lady because she was busy with another customer. That young lady said, «Okay, I’ll just clean it up.»
So threading is painful for me. When it’s over, I expect to have great looking eyebrows. This young Indian chick not only made my eyebrows REALLY thin, but they were UNEVEN in width! OMG, one eyebrow is bigger than the other!!! That has never happened to me before! I was so mad I was going to walk out of there without paying.
NEVER AGAIN! DONT COME HERE!!! Vinitha’s is still the best place I’ve gone to (across the mall). Shoot, I’ll even pay the $ 20 next door at Ulta’s Benefit Brow Shape Bar if that means I’ll get GOOD eyebrows at the end. Not to mention that dumb girl gave me huge skin scabs!
If you want your business to work, I suggest the owner of this place fires that girl. This is probably THE WORST INDIAN THREADING SALON in the Cerritos/​Artesia area (yes, I’ve been to many).

I got my eyebrows threaded here when they first opened. My first and last visit to this place because IT HURT SO BAD. I’ve had my eyebrows threaded at other places and this was the first place to make me tear up to the point of crying.
Definitely do not recommend their threading service.
