call me when you are open. if you qualify to be a PCP and accept new patients ima swithch you over and make an appointment or just walk in… my other psychiatrists had me on a 30 mg xr in the morning and 330 mg ir through the day with benzos to calm me down and I never been more focused and determined in my life. suddenly, the monster decides to cut me off and im in bed for 3 days straight… I really need a new psychiatrists. I know I have problems I am an ex addict but I survived the ugly days and depend on these clean meds to get me up in the morning. I got great insurance too. I really hope we have a meeting next week.

I have to disagree with the other reviews. I’ve seen Ruderman over 10 years through a family friend referral. To be CLEAR, he’s NOT a psychologist to discuss emotions. He’s a psychiatrist who PRESCRIBES medications. The first visit is a full 50 minute evaluation for him to properly diagnose your mental health. The following visits are very short, 5 – 15 minutes based on how your condition is. If it’s the same, the visit is SHORT. If you need refills BOOM he prescribes them. He’s a very bright Dr, and I feel he has my best interest at heart.

Patient BEWARE! Among other problems, Ruderman practices the 5 minute(literally) appointment — after the first visit, he will get you in and out of his office within 5 minutes. He tends to be somewhat dismissive and cold in attitude, and dislikes it when someone in crisis leaves him a phone message. He also charges for phone questions and for renewing a prescription by phone. Overall — he is very unhelpful. NOTRECOMMENDED !

I have recently had a very bad experience with this psychiatrist. I felt he was condescending, dismissive of my concerns, blasé in prescribing more medication, and basically pushed me out of his office when I needed to discuss my feelings on several issues further. I expect more from a mental health practitioner that I am paying for services. I’m extremely disappointed and disgruntled with the way my concerns were handled, and believe it was not only unprofessional, but medically negligent when dealing with someone who comes to you for medication to treat anxiety and depression.
