There are a few times in life when you question who to trust or not, right? Especially in the professional world… Just like cars, we wanted the ones who would give the best service for our«2nd homes». This is the comparison with Dr. Kim comes in place. I have been going to Dr. Kim’s office for years. I have no issue or whatsoever. He always provides the utmost care I need for my teeth, not that I need lots of dental work coz I could quote him on this, he would always say«I see that you have been cleaning your teeth well»(every 6 month check up when I see him). So modesty aside, I’m really proud of myself for hearing that every time. The only dental procedure that Dr. Kim would kinda suggest is having my teeth braced. But it’s not as necessary he said if I’m comfortable with my bite and looks. But in today’s visit I have learned that sensitivity in my teeth resulted to my enamel getting weak. He thinks one reason is because I clean my teeth so hard. Now I have to change my toothbrush with the soft bristle ones(I dislike those coz I feel like it doesn’t really brush my teeth well enough). But I have to do that change from now on. He also suggested to get Sensodyne. I currently use Colgate Cool Mint(I like this flavor the best among all toothpaste). To summarize, I guess scrubbing/brushing your teeth so hard has its cons too for our enamel in the long run. So that’s definitely a misconception I know. The sensitivity of my teeth could be «fixed» by Dr. Kim adding some kind of enamel filling to those teeth that he evaluated sensitive. With that, it would cost me $ 120 each tooth but instead he just gave me tips in how to help out with the sensitivity. Thus, using soft bristled toothbrush and Sensodyne. Thank you Dr. Kim for not being a hawk on a clueless patient like me in the dental world. I sincerely appreciate your care and professionalism! =] See you again in 6 months!

I went here for my 6-month cleaning because while I have a PPO, my boyfriend has an HMO and in solidarity we went to a dentist on his list. First mistake: feeling sorry for my boyfriend and foregoing a known GOOD dentist for some dentist I’d never heard of. Second mistake: paying Dr. Kim The equipment is ancient. Dr. Kim does the cleaning himself, which I thougth was cool — but the cleaning lasted 5 minutes. And then I was out of there. He took a cursory glance at my X-rays and sent me on my way. Definitely not worth what I paid for. To top it off, after my boyfriend’s cleaning, he started having bad tooth pains and me? Unrelated or not, but surely I will blame it on Dr. Kim(and maybe unfairly), I had my first toothache today! EVER! Which reminded me to write this review … Don’t expect much here. I wouldn’t have minded the one-minute-man-style of teethcleaning and granny-tech X-ray equipment, but it wasn’t worth the money I had to pay out of pocket.
