This place was amazing. I would really recommend the chicken Marsala with some naan. And the service was very very nice. They really do greet you as you just approach the door.

Damn good Indian food can be found here, but I need another go to possibly give them a 4. The sevice was outstanding! The gentelman that helped us was so chill and waited on us hand and foot. I would have tipped the guy the full price of the check because he was that on top of things. Very respectful, polite, quick with the refills of both food and rice. You sir, get a 5. Food was also very good. We didn’t get there in time for the buffet so we just order some of the basics off the menu and went from there. Tasty, spicy, hot, fresh… you can expect these things for sure. Reason I say that, is we hit them right before they closed. No fear though as they fired the grills up and had our food out in no time. Still fresh. Still hot. Concerning the spicy level, I would say that it was spicy enough to make me a «tad» concerned about my next toliet visit. Yet, not spicy enough for me even though I ordered the hottest they had. I didn’t care for the décor. My girl liked it but I thought it was a little lacking. Especially for the price of the food. 15 bucks for a plate or 13 without veggies just seemed a little high for the portion size. Besides that, real decent. Props again to our server. I’ll be back for the buffet in the hopes of bumping you guys to a 4. Cheers!

this place has super yummy food. we didnt actually go through the buffet like most people suggest(we didnt read reviews until after we ordered) the décor was… lacking. actually it was pretty bare. it looked kind of like an indian version of one of those mob safe houses pretending to be a restaurant that you see in movies. my friend and i split a dish(tikka marsala i think) but it took FOREVER to get to us. i guess they weren’t expecting people to actually order anything… everything was delicious except for the mint sauce thing. but then im not exactly a fan of mint… the food took forever. i mean FOREVER to get to our table… people had already come in after us, went through the buffet line went back to their table, ate, got seconds, and finished eating a paid before we got our food. when we FINALLY got our food. it was almost worth the wait… almost. we got our naan around the same time which was omg delicious… and finished it really really fast… so our server offered to bring us more toward the end of our meal. it was really good so we said«sure!» literally 15 minutes later he emerged with our second order of naan… *sigh* minus 1 star for making me sit and watch people eat for what seemed like an eternity…

I loved going to this place, especially for lunch because they had a very impressive lunch menu. Do you notice the past tense in «love»? Sadly, this place has recently switched owners(just last month) so the only whole menu has changed, including yes, the lunch menu. And by changed, I mean completely eliminated =-( The food is still the same quality, but no more $ 5.50 paneer wrap??? GAH. got to find somewhere else now.

2.5 stars Gah, I absolutely hate it when I visit a place expecting the same experience as my last few visits and it does not happen. The buffet line has different items that now replaced my favorite dishes(except for the tandoori chicken). But even the Tandoori tasted too dry that day. I might give this place another shot again but I’m most likely going to just drive a little further to Artesia for a better Indian buffet.

Price was good but that is all. Food was average at best. Great location though. I would rather pay more for great food.

This place is AMAZING! Their lunch buffet is a fabulous value with fabulous food and friendly service. I eat at Indian restaurants at least once a week, and this is the best one I have found in the LA area. All of the dishes in the buffet are very fresh and flavorful. You can start with salad and fruit. Then, there is chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, a goat dish, daal, a potato dish, green bean dish, an eggplant dish, and a few others that I can’t remember. I even loved their eggplant dish, and I don’t even like eggplant! Their naan was very good, but a bit oily. To top it off, they have two kinds of dessert. The traditional doughy, sugary ball things were off the chain! I highly recommend that you try this place. My boyfriend and I both loved it. I hadn’t even finished my meal, and I couldn’t wait to come back. The attentive and friendly service, the high quality of the food, and the low price, makes this place 5 stars in my book.

This is my favorite Indian place of them all! Lunch buffet is only $ 7.95, a great price. Out of all the Indian places I’ve tried, the India Café has by far the best flavor, price, and service. They are extremely friendly and inviting, and they always make you feel like valued customers.

Came here after church one day during lunch, and they had a buffet for $ 5.99? The food was ok, the tandoori chicken was probably the only thing I liked. But for $ 5.99 it was good enough. The tikka masala was okay, I’ve had better. The naan was good though, just dip it in the tamarind sauce and it would go great together. They’re samosas are bomb-diggity! Well, I love samosas anywhere! Oh yeah, the mango shake was not so bad too! A little too thick, but tasty, although it wasn’t cold enough. But definitely was a palate neutralizer. Overall, the place is nice & clean. Servers were friendly and attentive. I would go back to this place again for some samosas & tandoori chicken!

The place was empty on a weekend. while all around the other food places were packed so I said hey no wait and boy am I glad I did. The service I got was excellent and the food was very tasty the portions are small but the flavor makes up for it. I got the chicken soup and it was to die for so creamy and full of flavor and the garlic basil naan yum. I also tried there rice pudding and it was so so good I will be coming back here again to try there lunch all you can eat buffet for just $ 7.95 wow!!!

I had the lunch buffet yesterday and it is OUTSTANDING. There were about 12 items available and also a salad/vegetable bar. The food was so tasty adn the service as others have mentioned was excellent. The nan is also freshly baked. and limitless. Come here with an empty stomach, you won’t regret it. Some indian buffets I’ve been too are kinda.eh.cheap.this one has plenty of food. the chicken tandoori and curries were fantastic. Well worth a visit!

Tough to start-up close to Pioneer St with so many good Indian joints. This spot, unfortunately, is average at best. The service was great, but the tastes are fairly bland and average for the area.

This place is middle of the road, hence the 3 star rating. Service is excellent – the waiter was helpful and patient, if a little overzealous. Portion-wise…it’s a bit on the low side of things. I could count the number of pieces of chicken in the chicken tikka masala. @ $ 8.95 I expected a little more. The chicken itself was a little overdone(maybe first week jitters?), which they might correct over time. The naan selection was pretty long. Again though, the portion was a bit small given the price($ 2.99). The samosa chaat we ordered was good, the pastry shell was a little overdone as well though. Overall, the food tasted good. Gonna try the lunch buffet some time… it’s supposed to $ 8.95, which is CHEAP! Let’s hope the food quality doesn’t get cheap as well.

3 ½ stars Ahhhhhhhhh…the various, pungent aromas of Indian cuisine. It’s been awhile since I’ve had Indian food and I’ve been craving for it. India Café just recently opened for business and I decided to dine there. I’ve been there twice already, to try the lunch buffet and then their curry bowls. Lunch buffet — There are eight items offered in the food warmers(tandoori chicken, basmati rice, pakora etc.), soup du jour(this day was cream of broccoli), sliced vegetables & onions, sauces/yogurts and sweet rice for dessert. Everything was fresh and tasty. The complimentary naan is the perfect vehicle to sop up all the sauce on your plate as you dine. The selection is a little lacking compared to Indian buffets on Pioneer Blvd. and I was told Masala tea was available after 5pm only. Nevertheless, I left with a full belly. Price is $ 7.99 Tonight — I arrived with my mom to redeem our«Free Curry bowl» coupons. We ordered the Shrimp Vindalu and Chicken Tikka Masala. The waiter came back and informed us that they were not available for the free curry bowl. DRAG. I then asked him what do you recommend for a non-spicy dish for my mom and a spicy dish for me. He then gave some suggestions which we agreed upon but I only made out that my mom’s dish was with chicken and mine was with lamb. I couldn’t hear too good because of the Indian pop music playing in the background. I also ordered a cup of Masala tea. Be forewarned, the tea is very strong tasting, which I like, but others may not. I suppose you can dilute it with water if it’s not to your taste. Our bowls came promptly and I enjoyed mine but my mom said her’s was too spicy, so I ended up finishing both bowls ;) The restaurant is very clean and I enjoyed all of the food I’ve had there. Some more selections for the lunch buffet would be a welcome addition. Recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

This place just opened up and the service was A-MAZING! Maybe it was because there weren’t too many patrons or they were trying to make a good first impression but I don’t think I’ve been treated this well at a restaurant EVER! The waiter was very friendly and kind with helping us select our entrée items. My friend and I shared this«deal of the day» which consisted of a vegetarian entrée, and two choice entrees, daal of the day, choice of naan, and choice of dessert for a cool 9.95! It was a lot of delish food for a super price! On top of that the owner provided complimentary Indian Tea that was absolutely perfect for the chilly night, as well as a second complimentary dessert. We shared a samosa chaat, and for entrees we had chicken tikka masala, Xacutti, Chana Masala. The tikka masala is a safe bet, tasty creamy and tender chicken. The samosa was also very tasty and extremely flavorful. I looooved the dessert, we had mango ice cream and pistachio ice cream. My favorite was the pistachio, not overly sweet and strong in pistachio taste. NOM! The indian tea was very yummy too, albeit a bit grainy towards the end but the spices really were good. Our waiter served our food for us and made suggestions on what to pair the different dishes with(naan or rice). He was extremely courteous and attentive, you almost feel like you’re in some fancy 5 star restaurant the way they treat you up in this place. So if you’re not a seasoned indian restaurant patron this will be the perfect experience. First impression of this new restaurant is: Top notch service + very affordable meals. I will be returning very soon!
