The Willows Bed And Breakfast

Our wedding at The Willows was perfect.
We initially looked at The Willows in January and decided it was a great value based on the packages they offer. Our meeting was in April to decide the different options for our event and the ceremony in October. Joe did a great job cleaning up the grounds for our wedding and Sandy made sure family who chose to stay at the B&B were well taken care of.
Yes, they have rules that help them manage their properly but we found none of them unreasonable. We decided to have our ceremony in the upper grassy area at the rear of the property and the reception under the tent they purchased this year which worked out great.
The food served was a brunch meal and was excellent.

We enjoyed the architecture and attention to detail in the décor. The yard and view are spectacular. However, the attention to service was lacking. The house keeper seemed to be going through the motions versus anticipating our needs. Example: lack of coffee, water or OJ with our semi warm quiche at breakfast. We were also surprised by no wine hour or opportunity to meet the other guests. We stayed two nights… No Wow factor for the money.

Disappointing! 2.5 if they had it, but the bad out weighed the good.
For a property with so much potential we were let down.
Poorly marked from the road, once your on the property some signage welcoming and directing you would be the norm. Not here.
No social time in the evening which would be the norm at a quality inn including wine. We stay in almost nothing but B&B’s and are very well versed in the experience. The staff was obviously following their direction, but we’re not what is expected in a B&B. Very sweet and helpful when prompted. We had to serve our own coffee from a one cup dispenser. Not quality brewed coffee. One course meal with no pizzaz. Cold quiche and a microwaved sausage patty. What???
The staff needed prompting to serve drinks and were dressed in street clothes. Shorts and tee shirts?
The shower was slow to heat and leaked green stuff down the wall. Valves squeaked from lack of maintenance. AC was not up to par and the pool was growing algae.
Would just take some effort and thus place could be good. Just lacks too much for experienced Inn folk.

My partner and I spent four nights in the McCaskey room; it was spacious and nicely decorated with a king bed and private balcony. The nights were quiet, peaceful and we both slept very well. The breakfasts Sandy made were beautifully presented and delicious. My favorite was her quiche and I really enjoyed the fresh fruit that accompanied her dishes every morning. Joe and Sandy were wonderful hosts and gave us great recommendations on restaurants, a cheese shop, a chocolate shop, and which wineries to visit. It was such a great, relaxing getaway and we will definitely be back!

My partner and I stayed at the Willows for 4 nights in September 2014 and absolutely loved it. Everything was perfect. We stayed in the McCaskey room (large king bed, private balcony) and it was absolutely beautiful, extremely comfortable and very relaxing.
The owners Sandy & Joe were very gracious and accommodating. We really enjoyed chatting with Sandy every morning during breakfast. And those breakfasts! Talk about gourmet. i can’t say enough to convey how delicious and extravagant they were — egg soufflé, quiche, eggs benedict, crepes. They were indeed a treat.
I highly recommend The Willows. Thank you Sandy & Joe. We will be back.

NEVER have your wedding here. EVER.
I had my wedding at the Willows, and it was a complete disaster thanks to the awful owners, Sandy and Joe. I chose the Willows because of their nice property. What I didn’t realize was that Sandy and Joe along with their son and daughter would make my wedding day a day I never want to remember. My wedding morning I showed up with my bridesmaids to find that nothing was set up. Sandy was just waking up, and never acknowledged us, or the fact that nothing was done and it was 2 hours till our ceremony. Her attitude towards us was beyond negative, she was downright rude. She also told me that she would do the flowers… and I paid extra for her to do them. I did not realize that she meant fake flowers. I called my florist and asked if she could make something for me last minute and she agreed but Sandy was furious. Then I asked to use the room that I had paid for, and it was AFTER check-​in time. She said NO. But after I told her I need a place for myself and my bridesmaids to get dressed she said «fine, but don’t put dirty tampons in the trash. I don’t want to have to clean up the suite again for tonight. Also, your mom and mother of the groom are not allowed in there». I was shocked she said the tampon thing to me, and even more shocked that my mom wasn’t allowed to see me put on my wedding dress. After all, I PAID for this room. I proceeded to go up anyways, with my 2 bridesmaids and photographer. Apparently the photographer wasn’t allowed either because Sandy became UN-​GLUED when she discovered she was in there with us. She went completely ballistic on the photographer and put her middle finger directly in her face. I was mortified. My photographer left (thankfully just to go to the car and take a breath). And, at that point I gathered with my family, and contemplated leaving as well. This was my wedding day, and I was balling my eyes out. Sandy treated myself (the bride) and my family and friends like no one I have ever come in contact with.
We proceeded with the ceremony. I had numerous family members fly in and I was not going to cancel the wedding, but I wanted to. The rest of the night we received tons of complaints from guests about how rude Joe and Sandy were to them. It was horrible. All night felt like we were NOT welcome. The few examples I’ve given don’t even scratch the surface on how BAD these people are at hosting. They are not hosts. They don’t want you to have your wedding here. They will act irritated, rude and inappropriate to you ALL day.
The night came to an end, and my husband and I decided to just stay in the room there cause we had no other reservations. I went upstairs, got in the shower, and cried my eyes out. My wedding day was ruined and it was specifically due to Sandy and Joe’s unbelievable behavior.
The next morning Sandy knocked on the door, and I was assuming she wanted to apologize for the way everything turned out. Instead she asked us to come downstairs. We came down, and her and Joe looked at us and said «Which guest of yours called and threatened us? We are calling the police». We were puzzled? I had no idea what they were talking about. They then played us a horribly profane message (that included cussing, and threatening them). It was a disturbing way to wake up after the wedding day from hell. It just kept getting worse.
Come to find out, the message was unaffiliated with any of my guests. It was someone that was not even there that night. Just another example of the crazy unprofessionalism you can expect from these people.
Run far away from here. Do not get sucked in to the nice grounds and their «wedding package». I am not the only bride this has happened to, and I hope to get to at least one other person before this happens to them. I can’t even look at pictures of my wedding day, because it makes me so upset what these people did to me.

I had visited this Bed and Breakfast on a business trip down to the Medford/​Ashland Area. I came across it on
and figured I would give it a try. It was a beautiful setting, gorgeous home and very gracious and hospitable innkeepers. Sandy made a phenomenal breakfast the next morning and gave great advice on where to go for last minute items. I enjoyed the serene grounds, the nice and cozy room overlooking the pool and the gardens. The grounds also offered a serene lake setting and a nice tennis court. I will definitely be back!

My sister got married at The Willows and it is a place I would recommend to everyone… either to stay for a relaxing weekend or get married there. The grounds are beautfiul and well kept. The night before the wedding we stayed in the Butler Suite. This was the first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast and it will definitely be something I will do again! It was such a wonderful experience. The room was beautiful, the breakfast was very good, and Sandi and Joe and such wonderful and thoughful hosts! I heard that Sandi also holds cooking classes there, which I really want to look into.

Having just noticed previous reviews of The Willows by previous wedding attendees, I am hard-​pressed to believe if those reviews were of the same location and proprietors. Sandi and Joe were the height of graciousnessness, and were very friendly and accomodating. Perhaps their review was of The Willows in Australia; The Willows located in the Medford area is sensational.

We attended a wedding here. It’s a beautiful location and it was a great wedding but the owners who live there and run the place were a bit odd. They seemed to hover throughout the entire event and it felt as if you were being watched. Also, I was appalled to see the owner come out and help herself to a plate of food when the appetizers were being served. Totally rude and unprofessional. She was NOT a guest at the wedding. It is a beautiful bed and breakfast but unless you are staying there you aren’t allowed in the house to use the restroom or anything. You are permitted to use the outside restrooms only. Strange. Beautiful location, but they don’t seen very hospitable, which is not good for a hospitality business. My advice… go elsewhere for your wedding.

Beautiful historic Rogue Valley Orchard Mansion. It is like going back in time as you dive up a long tree lined drive. A beautiful estate on five acres that house a Cooking School. We stayed in the McCaskey Room that had double french doors that opened up to a beautiful balcony that overlooked the valley. A wonderful place to take in a book and a cup of coffee or watch the night come over the valley with a good glass of red wine. The four poster king bed was inviting along with the fireplace on a cold night. The best part of waking up in the morning was the amazing aroma coming from downstairs where Chef Sandy was cooking an delicious breakfast. If you are in Southern Oregon, you it a must to stay at!
