History

Established in 1955.

In a time when other area bridal stores have closed leaving brides in a lurch, Athena’s Bridal continues making area brides dreams come true. For 60 years Athena’s Bridal has dressed thousands of area bride’s and their bridal party for their big day.

From their early days in downtown Dayton to their present location in historical downtown Centerville, their focus has remained on the customer. Maybe that’s why they now are dressing brides whose mothers and grandmothers also bought their dresses from Athena’s! It has become a family tradition.

Situated in a charming 1838 historical building, Athena’s boosts a cozy, relaxed atmosphere with talented, non-​commissioned consultants whose true desire is to make certain their customers receive the personalized service they deserve. Treating customers right is the most important aspect of what we do.

Athena’s third owner, Beth Harper, getting married for the first time at 49, left her successful 25 year career in sales & advertisng mgt. when she and her entire bridal party lost everything when Sharnett’s Bridal closed abruptly overnight in July 2009. «It was for that reason and an overall disappointing bridal shopping experience, that I chose to purchase Athena’s Bridal.» states Harper. «I knew we could make the experience far better and more memorable for future brides.» It’s an incredibly important day in a girl’s life — she deserves to have an equally incredible shopping experience.”
