Worker Studio is an award-​winning Animation and Visual Effects company in Colorado, founded by CEO Michael ‘Ffish’ Hemschoot, an 18 year animation and Visual Effects veteran, having worked on Academy Award-​winning films like ‘What Dreams May Come,’ ‘The Matrix,’ and ‘Master and Commander.’ Together with partners Barry Kooser (‘The Lion King,’ ‘Lilo and Stitch,’ ‘Brother Bear’), former Disney artist of 11 years and the studio’s Minister of Message & Propaganda Jason Cangialosi, Worker Studio is developing original, high-​end 3D, 2D & Stop-​motion Animation. While employing the use of new technologies and methods of distribution, Worker Studio brings an old school sensibility of animation and storytelling into the 21st century.

History

Established in 2009.

Worker Studio is an American animation and visual effects company based in Centennial, Colorado, founded in 2009 by Michael «Ffish» Hemschoot. The company has provided visual effects for a number of short films including Angela Bettis’ segment ‘E is for Exterminate’ in the horror anthology film ‘The ABCs of Death.’ The studio is also the production company behind ‘John Ross: American,’ based on the life of World War II pilot John H. Ross. In 2012, journalist Jason Cangialosi joined Worker Studio as a Partner and the studio’s Minister of Message and Propaganda after he had met and interviewed Hemschoot about projects he was developing, including John Ross: American, and advocacy for new tax incentives for films in Colorado. Shortly after, former Disney Artist Barry Kooser joined the studio as a partner and Chief Creative Officer. Hemschoot and Kooser met while teaching animation at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design

A graduate of the renowned, California Institute of the Arts Character Animation program, Michael «Ffish» Hemschoot is a nearly 20-​year veteran of the Animation and Visual Effects industry. His work has been seen in some of the top Hollywood films of the past two decades, including two recipients of the Academy Award for Visual Effects Achievement. While currently, Michael is best known for his abilities as an Animation Director and Live Action Filmmaker, his experience and expertise extends to many facets of Visual Effects, including: Previsualization, Compositing, Effects Technical Direction, and Visual Effects Supervision. He has also developed a passion for sharing his skills and experience with the next generation of digital artists as a college level Animation Instructor. In his career, Michael has worked on projects for such world-​class feature film companies as: Sony Pictures, Warner Bros, Disney, and Paramount, to name a few.
