A new salon has opened in the swank Solera Salon building at 8770 E. Araphahoe Road. KD Salon specializes in great hair colors – creating looks from runway wild to real life chic. «Color offers a fresh hair inspiration. Hair color can take a drab, bad hair day and make it edgy, playful, feminine and fun,» explains KD owner Desiree Miller. KD Salon is a full service salon, also offering a full line of hair extensions. The owner notes that her own hair emergencies were solved when she discovered extensions so she soon made this one of her specialties. «I love to do extensions; they really allow me to be artistic and innovative with hair» says KD owner Ms. Miller. «Extensions give a quick set of luscious locks!“She explained she goes to great lengths to give her guests stylish, yet easy to handle hair styles. «No matter how fabulous a hair style might me, if it’s difficult to manage, my guests will ultimately be dissatisfied with the style. We have busy lifestyles; our hair has to cooperate each and every morning!» says KD owner.

Desiree is thrilled to have her salon at Solera. «I think these types of salons are the future. Each stylist has their own suite. These individual, luxury suites give guests privacy and a quiet place to unwind – at the same time offering competitive prices as traditional salons.

History

Established in 2015.

HAIR…I have a wonderful obsession with it. I cut my bangs at age 3; I first dyed my hair at age 13 and I opened my own salon at age 30. It seems I was really meant to be a hair artist from as far back as I can remember.

I’ve been inspired by the sleek styles of Audrey Hepburn, the outrageous updos of Cher, and the luscious locks of Beyonce. Just looking at the myriad of styles all around, I’m constantly reminded that hair can be one of our most fun and fascinating fashion statements!

Hair plays a huge role in how we see ourselves, in how we start our day, in how we come across to others – even in the amount of time we spend getting ready! I strive to create styles that are artistic and beautifully cut, yet practical and easy to live with. As I like to say, «We have busy lifestyles; our hair needs to cooperate with us each and every morning!»
