Established in 2008.

Fit Turf was formed in 2008 with one goal in mind, to provide the best lawn and tree care service in the Denver Metro Area. Fit Turf was founded by Paul Wagner who has been in the Lawn and Tree Care industry for over 30 years. We are a local company that utilizes locally sourced products that are specifically made for our front-​range lawns. By providing great products and guaranteeing our services we have become the fastest growing lawn and tree care company in metro Denver.

Business Owner

Paul Wagner is the founder and President of Fit Turf. Paul broke in lawn care while attending Ferris State University, spraying lawns for a local lawn care company in Metro Detroit. Upon graduation, Paul was hired as a sales rep and eventually moved into regional management over the next few years. Seeing the need for a top notch lawn and tree care company in the Metro Detroit area. Paul started Masters Green Lawn and Tree Care and eventually built the company into one of the largest in the nation. Five years ago, Paul sold Masters Green to pursue a better quality of life in Colorado and ultimately launched Fit Turf Lawn and Tree Care. With over 30 years of industry experience, Paul is thrilled to offer the best possible service and results in the Metro Denver area.

Given one quote for tree treatment over the phone, which was substantially higher than an E-​mail quote I received from them. Called to clarify, and was told their higher phone quote was the correct one. A week later, received another E-​mail quote that mysteriously matched the higher phone quote. ??? Questionable business practices, so totally glad I picked another company to do the work. Watch out for this ‘slick’ company!

Beware of this company and their unscheduled and unreqested «repeat». I scheduled them last year for a tree injection. Cost $ 80. Thought it was a one time thing. This year a guy showed up without warning to do it again. I didn’t schedule a repeat nor did I get any notice they were going to do it again. Now I have a bill for $ 123.60 that I will pay as I always pay my bills but I didn’t request nor want another treatment. After reading these reviews with experiences similar to mine, I am enclosing with my check written notice that they may not perform any more work on my property without express written consent from me and that without express written consent, I will not be liable for any future work or charges associated with them. These people «assume» you have some sort of «contract» with them and get you to think you do also, when actually there is no contract. To avoid this waste of time, use someone else. It’s not worth it.

UPDATE — After posting this review and complaining to the BBB, FitTurf resolved our issue. However, I would keep this review posted b/​c we experienced poor customer service when we called to resolve the first time. In addition, I believe that their auto-​renew policy without contracts needs to be highlighted for other consumers so you don’t have to go thru the same issues that we did to resolve this problem. I would also say that we were not happy with the results of their lawn service.
Don’t use this company — they’re pulling one over on consumers by auto-​renewing their services without a contract. The language on the invoice says ««For your convenience, service continues from season to season.»
After a technician arrived at our door about an application, we said that we didn’t want the service or to use them in 2016. Then 2 days later when we weren’t home, they came and performed another treatment. When I called to complain that we didn’t order the service nor want to use them in 2016, they refused to correct the bill and said that we didn’t cancel before the treatment.
In addition, our lawn has never looked worse in the 2015 season. Constant weeds and complaints to them never resolved the issue.

I am completely baffled by all these bad reviews! I moved into my house in 2010 and tried for 2 years to improve my awful lawn, to no avail. I have 3 neighbors with gorgeous lawns that I consulted. They all use Fit Turf and have for many years. They are all younger retirees, so are not frivolous with their money. The fact that they are a local company was especially appealing. I gave Fit Turf a try and my lawn has been beautiful ever since! I receive an invoice and explanation of services from the technician after every application. I have never had problems with billing. I get one call a year to possibly upgrade, which I decline, without another word or consequence. During one of those calls, I asked if they could recommend someone to repair a waterfall which is a huge, horrible nightmare story, which he did. I hired his recommendation and am thoroughly thrilled with his work and professionalism! I have nothing but great things to say about my experiences with this company!

Don’t do business with FitTurf. This company is awful to work with. We called them to treat our tree last year. That went fine. It was supposed to be a one time treatment. The next spring we received a bill in the mail for a second treatment. They claimed that they left a voicemail and sent notice that they were coming out to perform another treatment, but we didn’t receive any of that. We aren’t even convinced they performed the second service. Now we keep getting repeat invoices in the mail. Apparently they believe that they can automatically sign you up for services that you don’t want and then bill you for them. They are polite on the phone, but they shady.

Despite some negative reviews, Fitturf keeps my lawn looking good. I’m allergic to some of the chemicals in pesticides and herbicides and I don’t want my dog walking on that stuff, so the only thing they put in my yard is organic fertilizer. Sparse application has been a problem with previous companies. Fitturf actually does put down an amount sufficient to do the job. I’ve never encountered a hard sell with this company. They mention their various services from time to time, but I’ve certainly never been harassed. The technicians are always very pleasant and polite.

About five years ago I purchased a summer package and they did help my lawn look great. Unfortunately, it appears that if you get on their list you are never going to see the end of what I truly believe is a harassing company.
1. Despite requests to be removed from their list, I get sales calls at least four times per year.
2. I recommended a neighbor and they came to my house and did a treatment and BILLED me for it.
3. I continue to receive «sending to collection» letters with some random amount several times per year and then when I call to find out what the bill is for I am told it is an «error» and I can ignore it!
They are always polite and cheerful but I feel like I will never get Fit Turf out of my life! DON“T GET STARTED WITH THEM!

I utilized this company’s services back in 2013. I had requested fertilization and weed killing. The sales person tried to sell me on reseeding my yard but I explained to them that I had spent over $ 600 on a very particular type of seed for my yard and did not want to be reseeded unless they could obtain this exact seed.
First off, my yard never looked any better than when I did my own aeration, fertilization, and revive treatments so I felt as if I wasted the money paying these guys to do it. The few weeds that I did have issues within a few rock beds in my yard NEVER died off, let along decreased in frequency.
Second, I get a bill in the mail for charges for reseeding, which I never agreed to in the first place. At one point, the salesman had come to my house with their specialty seed, trying to convince me that it was «comparable» to my seed. I told him No and I was not interested. Yet, they took it upon themselves to do it anyway and charge me.
Now my yard is destroyed. I have unimaginable amounts of weeds all over my yard that I cannot seem to get rid of. I told the company that I was not paying for shotty services and services that were done without my agreement, yet they insist that I owe them $ 515. Now it’s on my credit report.
Do not use this company. You would have better luck with some guy from craigslist caring for you lawn.

Horrible customer service. I used them last year to kill the grass in my rock beds. Had to call them out over and over again as the grass kept beating them. They called me in the fall and after a 15 minute discussion about the above mentioned issue, the caller asked if they could count on me for next year and said they would send me a list suggested applications. They took my acknowledgement of this 15 min call as a contract for all of 2015 services which I have yet to see their promises list. Scammers is what they are.

The quality and support of their service is at the bottom of the industry and unfortunately they are led by dishonest individuals. Well, I went from one star, to if possible… negative stars? Hm.
Received a phone call from Fitturf on Friday, a representative named Aaron actually tried to BRIBE me!!!
Are you guys serious?
It started off sounding like a sales call, and when I informed Aaron that I was no longer living in a house, but had moved to an apartment (and therefore no longer needed services) he stated that he read in my previous Unilocal!review that I was dissatisfied with «scheduling issues.» But it didn’t end there. He actually proceeded to offer me a gift card in exchange for removing my negative review. After I just told him I no longer required lawn care services. Uhhhhh???
Nope! Sorry Fitturf. That’s not how this works. If you want people to write POSITIVE reviews about your joke of a company, try providing QUALITY WORK and CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Maybe… just maybe, people will start writing nice things about you.
I still can’t believe it actually happened. I should report them to the BBB. Maybe I will.

I never hired this company. I explored using their services. They claim they sent someone out for service multiple times, but I can’t see how or why since I never hired them. I started receiving bills from them. I called them and explained I never your company. I started receiving a collection agency letter. I had dispute their debt. Nice business model Fit Turf! Anyone who hires this company should be aware of their business practices and reported to the Colorado Attorney General.

This company has a scam… if you sign up once to try it out… it automatically sets you up for continued service which they did not explain or even mention. The product that they offer does not work so we paid that one time and they kept mailing stuff… no contract signed, they show up and start spraying without authorization and billed us. Horrible company.

Fit Turf services the lawn on my rental property and on my house. Both lawns look great. One in particular gets a lot of weed seed blowing up and down the street. I didn’t use their service for a summer and unfortunately saw a huge difference with the return of the weeds. They do a great job and I always know when they’ve been there.

I have been a customer since early 2012 when I switched from TruGreen. FitTurf promised a better product for a better price, from a local company.
What I got was the 7 – 8 treatment plan when I wanted 4. Called and got that sorted out, then the price jumped from $ 38 to $ 43ish?The next year I again had to fight the 4 application battle and the price again in creased to $ 47. At the end of last season I lost my bill, so I paid extra, figuring I would have a credit.
Now it’s 2014 and my first bill comes, it’s now $ 54 per application and I had no credit shown. I called and they again «straightened out the oversight.» They credited me the $ 16 they owed me and offered to lower my cost to last years level of $ 47. I agreed, although this business practice rubbed me the wrong way. I get money off just because I complained? How about a fair price for a fair job?
So today I get home and they had applied the second application. The bill on my door was once again $ 54. I lost it and immediately canceled. The girl said it was a mistake and she would adjust my bill and send me an email to confirm. I declined and will no longer do business with this company.
It is clear to me they just increase rates and error on their side when it comes to accounting mistakes, until they are challenged by the customer. Makes me wonder how many people jus pay their bill and are being taken…

Awful service and even worse marketing. Stay away if possible!
After about year and a half of their service when my lawn didn’t improve a bit but I was getting bombarded with «suggestions for additional services» I finally canceled their service. The following Fall they started calling me every two weeks asking if they can be of service again every time promising to remove my name from the list. After about 5−−6 calls they stopped… until the spring when the whole thing repeated again… 5 – 6 calls with untrained and pushy sales people and they would stop till the next fall.
I ended up calling their main number and threaten reporting them if they don’t stop. Still not sure if it’ll last. I wasn’t really planning to post this review until the latest call when the guy on the phone acted like a complete jerk — haven’t had any service with them for the last two years and it’s their constant harassing policies is what prompted me to finally review them.
