Clue Room

Great what to start our weekend! We were looking for clues the rest of the weekend.
My partner and I had talked about doing something like this for quite awhile and he finally set it up as a surprise for me. We had a blast and really want to do with friends the next time. The staff were friendly and supportive and very engaging.
I look forward to going again and enjoying my brain being twisted!

Went with my team and had an fun challenging time. I think the real benefits of this place is a owner greats you and walks you out afterwards, plus they have a phone number you can contact unlike a lot of the «fly by night» operations that pop up on groupon. I’m looking forward to re-​visiting this place and trying some of their other rooms.

Pretty cool experience for a beginning of the school year team building activity at the school I work for. We had a few more people in our room than they normally suggest, but it was still an interesting experience.
The owners mentioned they had some new games they were working on, so it would be cool to try out the new versions of their rooms. Weird location though in an old office building. Otherwise, definitely fun!

My boyfriend and I love escape rooms, and this was our absolute favorite. Apparently my boyfriend’s brother signed us up for the most difficult room (1893) because he wanted a challenge. A challenge is exactly what we got. Not only were we bested by the clue room, but we spent hours after debriefing on the experience and attempting to solve the seemingly unsolvable. The story of our room was exciting, and the room itself was well-​designed. The customer service was also excellent. We plan to return in the future to conquer the challenge. It was difficult with only four people because there were so many puzzles to solve, so I recommend having 5 – 6. Don’t bring too many friends because the rooms are relatively small! Prepare to be stumped and have fun!

The staff was really great to work with and was able to accommodate our team request of 7 with no problem (their suggestion is 2 – 6), though only 6 of us actually attended the event.
Due to an unforeseen issue at our hotel, we were late by about 45 min, I simply called them up and explained the situation, and they said it was not problem at all. It is great when you can receive customer service as wonderful as this anywhere you go.
Now the room itself was fantastic! It allows for each person on our team to really shine and show our strengths with the various puzzles and clues.
You do get a short briefing before you go into the room on what it is about if you have not done something like this. They explain it is an «escape the room» type scenario. Though you are not actually locked in the room (there is just an alarm on the door that sounds if you open it before you solve all the puzzles).
Just before you go in, they give you a short story on the background of the room, to kind of get you in the mindset. :)
I cannot say enough about this wonder team building adventure that we took and have already recommended this place to our corporate offices in case other teams are looking for a great outing.

I’ve been to three clue rooms now and this one is the best in Denver! So cleaver and I love how it is homemade with plenty of attention to detail. The others are much more commercialized. As a team of two, we did not make it out, but cannot wait to try again and to check out the other rooms. Worth the money.

This place was pretty awesome! I’m so glad we got to try it.
When I first got there I really didn’t know what to expect since I’ve never done anything like this before but everything was clearly explained to us. Also I liked how you could decide if you would receive hints or not so the difficultly is up to you.
I’ll be back! Especially since I still need to solve that room ;)

Great idea in a cheesy cheap office room, the people are nice, We had a great time deciphering the clues, working together, really a good tim. But the clues were on cheap laminated paper, worn our props, for $ 28 dollars a person, they could do a lot more to make it a nicer evening!

I have to admit to being skeptical about all the glowing reviews — I’ve been Unilocaling for long enough to have had a couple of experiences with places that were supposed to be «AMAZING!» and they sucked. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the Clue Room. I went with a group that included 3 gamers and we still didn’t manage to make it out before our time was up on the 2^nd level room. My tips would be to accept more than 1 hint the whole game — that was our downfall. Also, probably much more fun to go with your friends that random people if you can arrange it. We absolutely want to go back for the last room. It was a great activity that we could do with two infants and there aren’t many of those! The only criticism I have is that the facility wasn’t brand new and shiny for those who that matters.

My family of 3 (2 adults and a 12 year old) had a great time at our first escape party today! We didn’t know exactly what to expect, but as puzzle and game fans, we knew we were in for a treat. From the moment we entered, it was a fun time. Little did we know, we were actually participating in an intermediate room, and as a team of 3, we were incredibly challenged, but succeeded in our mission. All three of us worked together, gained clues, and had a great time doing so. With a minute and a half to spare, we unlocked the clues and won the mission. Thank you to all the staff at Clue Room for making this a great family adventure for us! We will definitely be back — hoping to participate in the 1893 challenge next. We may not succeed in it, but we know we’ll have a great time doing so.

So fun! I found a deal online and decided to try this as there isn’t much to do in Denver if you aren’t into outdoor activities. I went with my sister, her girlfriend and a friend. We were a group of 4 aged 25 – 55 and had a blast! We all go so into it, finding the clues and trying to figure things out. I was so disappointed that we got very close but didn’t complete before time was up. I want to go back and try it again! I think this is a great activity for anyone, I’m trying to convince my boss this would be a good team bonding activity just so I can come again!

A very fun evening out with some friends! Even the skeptical ones said they had a blast and would do it again. The puzzle was challenging, and we certainly felt lost a few times and needed a few clues. Mi-​6 we are not, I guess: D The hosts were great — let us choose when we did or didn’t want clues, and when we almost had it, even though the timer had JUST run out, they gave us a few more minutes to finish and taste victory. So we won — ish. Still felt fine.
Only 4 stars because I’m sure it could be better — more interactive, more high-​tech. But that is ok; it was still fun and the price (with the Groupon Discount) was on point.
Oh, yeah, ON WHO YOU BRING:
I’ve done these a couple of times — both times similar and fun. But most importantly, I saw that with a small group, we could be in there with strangers. I think that would completely suck (either yours or the other group would take over just because the teamwork is better with people you know. And no one wants to feel like a third wheel in a game like this). So I make sure to fill the room with 6 every time I go (I think they take up to 8 — sometimes 6 seems like too many, but you need 6 if you don’t want strangers in there with you — or at least pay for the full 6 and only bring your 4 – 5. I think it would be worth it, especially if you have a discount). The first time I went with another couple and our teen sons, and this time it was all women — both times were fun and it was neat to see how each person jumped in.

My sister and I (in our 30’s) took our parents (in their 50’s) here as a surprise for a Mother/Father’s Day gift; they had no idea what they were in for until we sat down with Todd for our briefing. My sister and I had been really excited about our appointment, but it was awesome how my parents jumped in and really owned the experience, too! We’re a bright bunch, but that room had us working HARD for the full hour — no one was at a loss of something to do for any period of time.
Escaping at the last second, we were all talking about the strategies we’d use next time, and already hooked and ready to do another. We don’t always work well as a team in life, but this experience really made us work at our own particular strengths, and was very team building.
Todd was wonderful! I’ve already told a dozen people about this place. It’s a good thing they have a few different rooms, but they’re also changing the next rooms up for autumn. I know we’ll be saving up for the experience!

It pains me to write this but… I was disappointed. My friends had gone to one of these last summer in Vancouver and it was completely over the top. They talked about this man who created multiple rooms filled with super high-​tech puzzles, including one involving shining a lazer into a fake skull’s eyes to open a lock! And well, that’s not the fault of this place but after hearing that it’s no wonder I was a little let-​down. There were a few puzzles to figure out here but about 30 locks later it felt a little repetitious. They give you clues and I know they meant it to encourage you but essentially they were the answers so… When we won, we felt like we cheated. I never really felt my adrenaline peak. I was just sort of trying to get through it after a while.
I really think if you went in having never experienced (or heard of someone else’s experience with an escape room) before it would have been far better. And I think part of the let-​down was due to their location. It’s in an office building and you have to get buzzed in, walk up some stairs and go into a suite where you wait to fill out forms while listening to people bump around awkwardly in closed rooms… You just never get transported anywhere, it is always just an office building. I half expected to walk in and find cubes for us to rummage through (which, actually would have been a pretty cool theme but it wasn’t the theme so it was just weird and we were like why are these people freaking out in their office cubes next door, it’s late in the day, go home). The lovely couple who run this are very charming; unfortunately the way it went, we just haven’t felt incentive to come back when there’s so many to try popping up now in Denver.

This was fun but it could have been a much better experience.
We were shoved into a room without any sort of briefing after the game had already started. We had no context of what we were supposed to do. They put us in a room with 4 strangers that were already playing and into the game. Having 6 people seems like too many and joining a game that had already started with a group that already knew each other was a bummer. I drove 2 hours to try this so I was disappointed. I will try it again sometime but I will make sure they brief us before we go in and either do it just the 2 of us or go with people we know. I would not recommend doing it with strangers– it was weird and not much fun.

This was our first experience and we had a blast! It is family run and I love how it is the first in Denver. It was their son’s dream to open one up and I wish them nothing but success. The puzzles were innovative and my husband and I are now hooked. Can’t wait for them to make new rooms/​reinvent so we can go back!

I bought this as a birthday gift for my husband to go with my kids. I scheduled it for 3 pm on a Sunday. We get there at 2:50 and are told to wait in a conference room in an office building. At 3 someone comes in and says our appt is for 3:30, I told the lady I called to confirm the appt for 3 but yes since we drove all the way there we would wait until 3:30. At 3:36 a guy comes in and says he can move our appt to 4! What??? We were bored out or our minds, the waiting room was worse than a doctor office. Total waste of money. So unprofessional — I feel cheated.
