These people are fantastic! The people working the front desk are friendly; the techs are caring, friendly and great with animals; and the Veterinarians (both Dr. Shannon and Dr. Lauria) are knowledgeable and compassionate.
Appointments are super easy to schedule, and the appointments themselves are thorough and informative. Most importantly, we know that when we walk in that door our pets are loved by all of their employee’s.
A typical complaint you hear regarding all veterinary clinic’s these days is the number of services they try to sell you on. The reality is Dr. Shannon and Dr. Lauria and staff are going to offer you additional services and products. It’s all part of being a good vet. They are doing it because they are in the business of keeping our animals safe. It is their responsibility to do so not just as owners and operators of a business, but also as caregivers of animals they must inform us and offer whatever may be of benefit to our animals. Whether these purchases are actually made is entirely up to us. As pet owners we have the right to accept or reject any product or service. You can rest assured that you will only be offered what will be of help, and should you choose to deny that help you will not be judged harshly by any member of their staff.
In the 6.5 years we’ve been going to CKVC we’ve run the gamut of pet experiences. We’ve brought in a puppy. We’ve brought in full grown dogs. We’ve brought in a cat. We’ve vaccinated. We’ve recommended friends (these friends also really liked the services they received). We’ve had a few emergencies. We’ve had false alarms that the CKVC staff eased our minds on very quickly. We’ve seen a little bit of everything with these people, and we cannot express how appreciative we are of the members of this clinic. They showed their true colors when we had to put Lena, our German Shepherd, to sleep this past winter. As anyone that has been through that knows, that was an awful experience, but their entire staff helped to make the best out of that situation. They were kind and empathetic before, during, and after (days, weeks, and months after). They showed us how much they cared, and that helped make the whole thing so much better. This is a fantastic group of people, and we think you and your pets will feel the same.

Dr. Shannon, Dr. DeLauria and their staff have taken care of my 2 goldens since they were 8 weeks old. The dogs are now 6 and in great health thinks to the care and attention from this vet clinic. They cared for the dogs through a major hind leg slice that needed stitches and sedation, through tummy and digestive problems, and through all their wellness visits. The staff is so great that my dogs actually look forward to going to the vet! Anyone looking for a marvelous vet clinic is welcome to contact me.

I am new to pet ownership and boy, I can tell you, it’s expensive! The last thing I would ever do is pinch pennies when it come’s to my baby… That’s what it’s important that I find a vet that I can trust to do what’s best for me and my puppy. I am so disappointed to be writing this review, partially because had I taken time to read the other negative reviews I would have realized how money hungry this place is. I had initially taken my dog to Red Rocks Animal Clinic because her vaccinations were included with her adoption fees and that was the clinic I had to go to. That place was super crowded and walk in only, so I decided I would get her initial vaccinations there and then find a vet that was closer. I didn’t check Unilocal reviews because a friend of mine referred me to this place. I went in specifically seeking information about heart worm prevention as well as flee prevention. I had forgot to bring in the records from Red Rocks but they assured me that they would call and get the records transferred. Which they did. Kind of. I left there and they handed me a long list of vaccinations to consider, something along the lines of $ 200. I was like, okay, this doesn’t feel right. The last vet told me I was good for the next year, so I took the list home with me and did my research. What I determined from my research (which included talking to several pet owners to see what vaccines they give to their animals) was a bunch of unnecessary vaccinations. So I’m leaving town this month and have to have my dog boarded. The boarding facility calls Cherry Knolls to check the current status of her vaccines. They call me and tell me I have to get her bordetella vaccine. I call the vet and schedule the appointment. After I schedule the appointment, I pull out my records from when I first got her and realize that she had all her vaccines for bordetella. I bring in the records and the lady says «oh, I don’t know how we missed that» and then tells me «well, she has to get this every 6 months» (which is partially true; if you are boarding your animal Colorado requires that they have the bordetella vaccination every 6 months). Cherry Knolls offers to print up her updated records so I can bring it to the boarder and then hands me back the paper and changes the expiration of the vaccination on the paper that initially said EXPIRES May 2017 to July 2016, so I can bring her back in and get the shot. Well, I’m boarding her this month, not next… so why would I want to pay for a vaccination that isn’t necessary? I wouldn’t, I won’t. I will make sure to give you guys a call too so you don’t mistake my unresponsiveness for neglect and report me to Animal Control like you did that last person that wrote a shitty review about your shitty business.

Please don’t use this veterinary clinic! We used to take our animals here until we finally got tired of the constant upselling. We would be in their clinic for one animal and they would give us proposals and estimates with lists of things we need to have done for our other animal. They are only concerned with scheduling your next appointment and getting more unnecessary money from you!
We had to take our cat to the ER last week at 11 oclock at night because he had blood in his mouth. Cherry Knolls Vet was listed as our default vet because when we were there 4 years ago with our dog who had diabetes we were still going to this clinic. We received our discharge antibiotics for our cat and followed up with our now veterinarian. Cherry Knolls Vet called me the day after our ER visit to schedule an appointment but I didn’t follow-​up with them because we no longer go there.
Because I didn’t return their phone call THEY CALLED ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES on us to do a welfare check? WHAT? Because we didn’t take our cat in to them they filed a report on us and now we have an open case. When animal control showed up at our door they were dumbfounded as the cat is in perfect condition, perfect health and our regular veterinarian had to provide them paperwork that we are doing everything we need to be doing.
Ridiculous! This is the lengths they go to to get money out of their «customers». This is what they think of us after spending thousands of dollars in their office with our other animals.
Maybe they can pretend that their only concern was for the welfare of our cat, but they know us as pet owners and know we do everything for our animals. Do animals abusers take their pets to ER’s in the middle of the night?
Please don’t go to this clinic!

I have brought my cats here a couple of times now and so far I am fairly satisfied with the visits. The vets and techs seem knowledgeable and gentle with my fur babies. The fees and costs are comparable and competitive with my former vet office which is a bit too far from home. It is fairly easy to get appointments on days and times of my choosing, and their hours are flexible enough on most days.

I had an extremely poor experience at Cherry Knolls and I actually held off on writing a bad review until yesterday.
We moved to the area and our old vet was way too far to go so we decided to pick a close vet, Cherry Knolls. First we took our dog to get a shot (to get him compliant for kenneling). During this first meeting the vet suggested that we get him a dental. The dog had had a dental in the last year and my husband declined (and got lectured). They then suggested he get some special food for his teeth. So I researched the food and decided to get it, online. They took WEEKS to approve it, my guess is because, I didn’t get it from them. This annoyed me, but fine, whatever.
What totally put me over the top was the experience with my cat. He had been peeing everywhere and we were pretty sure that he had a urinary tract infection (from past experience). So I took him to CK and saw Dr. Lauria to get a urinalysis. Here is where it starts; they insist we should first try special food and a get him a dental. I tell them, right now I want to focus on fixing the UTI and I get lectured. I mean we get in a LOUD fight about this. They think tartar is more important. I should have left, but I wanted my cat out of his misery. RELUCTANTLY, they do the analysis (which takes several days to get the results back). Guess what? He has a UTI and they give him antibiotics (well we do orally for 10 days). After the course of antibiotics I bring him back in to get checked again (to be sure it is all gone) and they keep me waiting 30 minutes, finally take the cat back for like 1 minute say they can’t get urine so they just ASSUME he is OK. That is it, they are done. I am so pissed, I leave.
Flash forward to yesterday. The cat is miserable again. Same symptoms (about 6 weeks after they «treated» him). I take him to my old vet and they do all the tests immediately, just had to wait a few minutes for results and tell me he has a raging infection (UTI). Probably wasn’t properly treated and it has just gotten worse. So now he is back on antibiotics and I have had to go to a real vet who knows how to treat people and pets.
I would never recommend this place. They couldn’t even be bothered to send test results to my new (old) vet (they insisted on cultures and blood tests along with my requested urinalysis). They don’t care about anything but $$. Dentals and special diets are where the money are and that is all they focus on.

What a great vet! We’ve been with them for about 2 years and they have been super. They fit us in, even later in the evening. They are great with both of our dogs and their fees seem reasonable! Definitely let these great folks take care of your pets.

I called to make a last-​minute appointment to get annual vaccinations for my dog, Kenny. They were able to see me 20 minutes later. The service was impressive; I appreciated how they treated and took care of Kenny. We will definitely be coming back!
