Canvas and Cocktails

I have only been to the Southglenn location and this place is always a good time. The staff make it a fun experience each time. I have invited several groups of ladies there for various occasions. Everyone has a great time, and you don’t need to have any painting experience. I want to take my son one of these times. They do have kids painting days and parties. I recommend giving it a try.

Great time! Kazan is the best teacher and makes it so fun! Ask which classes she is teaching!

Went here on a Wednesday night with 4 ladies from work. Kazan was our instructor and she was fabulous. She helped those in the group who were nervous and then let us free spirits run wild. She even help my friend add a small dragonfly to her painting for her husband that had past. Highly recommend this place!

Kazan is just a hoot! Had a great date night with the hubby! I’m gonna tell the boys to bring their girlfriends.

What a hoot!!! We loved the class and LOVED Dre. Neither of us is artistic, and we both walked out with masterpieces.

We have been here several times and always have a great time.
Today was the 2^nd time Dre was our instructor, she is great.
She makes sure people are having fun and she gives you just enough time to do what you need to do before moving on.
Had a great experience and highly recommend it for a day/​night of fun.

I had so much fun at this place! The class wasn’t crowded at all. The lady leading the session was very approachable, played fun music, and encouraged us all to change up the original painting by using different colors and styles. Great date place!

I’ve been wanting to try one of these places for such a long time, and finally had the chance to do it! I went with coworkers and two of our vendors (who had picked it because they thought it would be a fun girls night). The wine is ok (not great), and I didn’t like the painting we were doing that night… And you know what? It was still a blast.
The instructors are fun, and it’s basically foolproof — if you’re a perfectionist, there’s not enough time to mess it up by overthinking it, and if you have no artistic talent whatsoever, they talk you through every step, so as long as you pay some attention, you’ll turn out a painting almost as good as the instructor’s!
I’d recommend looking at the calendar for the next couple of months to find something you like, instead of just signing up for a class time that fits your schedule. The choices vary a lot, and looking far in advance is the best way to find something great!

Been to this Canvas And Cocktails Southglenn I’m’s. It’s great and the ladies are really take care of you. Not only with drinks but also the adventure of painting. Every time I go near a try to bring someone new and everyone always enjoys it. It’s definitely the place to go if someone comes to visit. Last night was the first night that we painted on wood and it was great because I already have like six or seven paintings from this place. Would definitely recommend. Have fun there!

We have painted at Canvass and Cocktails approximately 9 times over the years (yes, we’re what you would call «addicts»). It’s a great date night, girls’ night, birthday, family night — you name the occasion; it’s perfect!
Our family went last night for a Thanksgiving activity — since we all wouldn’t be together today — and we were so excited to see that Dre was our teacher! She always brings so much energy and so much fun to her classes! We laughed all night, jammed to great music and painted a beautiful winter-​scape (the one with the awesome purple road! ;) that complements our Christmas tree just perfectly.

This is my forth time canvassing and cocktailing. I’ve painted and sipped in the Highlands, off Hampden & I-​25, this location and in Cherry Creek. I’ve got to say that the Cherry Creek location is the best. The energy of the instructor was perfect and music was fantastic. I love doing this, so I’ll be back whenever there’s something cute to paint and someone willing to go with me.

I collect owls and I found out that they were doing am owl painting. Needless to say, I had to sign up although this place is 45 minutes away from my house! I dragged a fellow owl collector friend with me. We arrived about 20 minutes late and the class had already started. We were quickly directed on what to do by the reception gal and settled in soon after. Once we sat, she asked us what we wanted to drink. The first drink is included in the $ 35 class fee which is awesome. Painting was a lot of fun, but the other people in the group made the experience better. At the end, they hold a drawing for either a discount on the next class or a free class, I cannot remember. I really enjoyed doing this with my friends!

I know there are lots of companies who have variations of names for drinking alcohol and painting. Since this was my first time at a place like this, I can’t compare this places to other places, but I can share my experience here.
We came as a group for a friends birthday. We were pretty nervous about the whole experience because I have friends who went and posted pictures of their amazing paintings, and I was afraid my painting was going to turn out to be a disaster. However, that wasn’t the case at all. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I didn’t even have to explain it was my first time here. Once they greeted you at the door, someone showed me to the register where the cashier asked if this was my first time and made friendly small talk. Once I paid, they lead you over to their bar area where you can pick your free drink. Ours was on a sangria day but if you didn’t want a sangria they wouldn’t substitute it out for you. Once you got your drink, they led us over to another staff who showed us to our seats and told us to get an apron and how many pumps of each color of paint to get. Even though our big group RSVP separately/​as small groups and not as a big group, they were still nice enough to seat is all together.
Once your settled in, grabbed your paint, apron, and drink, we still had time to wander around and socialize or look at other painting hung on the wall before the class started. Once we started, the instructor explained the brushes we were using and how to identify them apart, and took is step by step on how to draw a beautiful painting with simple lines and geometric shapes. If we didn’t want the picture to look exactly like the demo, we were free to add/​subtract/​substitute colors, or even improvise however we wanted.
It was a very casual and comfortable environment with extremely friendly staff. I had a wonderful experience and had a lot of fun. And the best part? You don’t have to any experience in painting or drawing, meaning anyone can do it!

Had a really fun time. This is an awesome place for a first date — there’s a fun activity, there’s time to talk, and you can split a bottle of wine!
The instructors are great at leading a super-​fun-​painting-​101 for each night, and taking you through a painting one step at a time. That being said, I always just paint whatever I want.
My girlfriend and I just went back for the anniversary of our first date (which was at Canvas and Cocktails) and had just as much fun the second time.

Last night for my birthday, some friends and I crashed Canvas and Cocktails in the Southglenn complex. I had so heard so much about it, and it was about time to put my brush to the canvas and see what it was all about. Also, we were celebrating my birthday.
You guys, it was so much fun. Like, the most fun EVER. You come in the door, and it’s like walking into a party. The energy is up, the music is blasting and there is a huge line at the bar. There is ALWAYS a huge line at the bar.
You check in, pay and are given a handful of brushes. They have names; baby brush, round brush, big brush. Yeah, it’s pretty self-​explanatory.
You can pick all different kinds of painting, depending on their schedule.
My friends met me there, all dressed in their aprons — ready to paint the town. Or a canvas. I pulled on my apron, tied it, sat down. My friend looked over at me. «You should get a new apron.» «Why?»
“Because your apron has a penis painted on it.“
Indeed it did, at the bottom, just in the perfect spot. My friends proceeded to pee in their pants laughing while I switched aprons.
The class was absolutely packed, and everyone was in the mood to party. We were painting a replica of Van Gogh’s Starry Night. I was intimidated by it.
We lined up, got our 3 squirts of paint and got ready to create a masterpiece.
The instructor (who was possibly the most bombastically cheery person on earth) began with basic instructions for painting. «Okay ladies… you are going to start with a little black and a little blue. Does everyone have wine? Yes? Whoooooo!!» (Tons of women raise and wave their paint brushes in the air like we are at a rave).
Then, we paint. It’s relaxing and soothing and hilarious. People are standing up and dancing in the aisles to «Party Rock Anthem.» It’s weird and awesome at the same time. One of things that I found amazing is that even though we were all following the exact same directions with the exact same colors, our paintings were SO different. My friend used purple in hers so that it would match a certain room in her house. I loved that idea. I didn’t veer to far from the instructions, but I did try to add a certain yellow glow that radiated out from the right side of my stars and moons. That made it a little different, at least.
The wine helped mix it up, I think. I can’t even capture it, but it was SO fun.
It took about two hours and by the time we finished I was flush with the pure passion of painting. I had missed it so much — the smell of the paint, the feel of the brush against the canvas, the smear of yellow paint on my face. Sure, it was kind of like painting-​by-​number, but I don’t care.

As usual… I loveeeed this place! Painted the Moonlight Tulips painting a couple weeks ago for a mimosa morning with a good friend of mine who had never been here! She loved it! Our instructor Sarah, was great and so friendly! The paintings turned out so wonderful, couldn’t wait to hang another on my wall. I think this is #5 now haha!
Canvas n Cocktails never fails to impress me. From the awesome instructors, to the atmosphere of the place, to the bartenders… its just a great experience. I still tell my guests at the hotel I work at about this place! Everyone I have recommended it to always tell me they had a great time! I read another review that was posted trying to compare this place to Sipping and Painting.(I have been there as well). I kind of agree on the snacks thing… Sipping and Painting puts out little bit of snacks, just liek cheese and crackers, fruit, that type of thing. That may be a nice thing to add here at C&C. It definitely does not take away any stars on my review though.

This was my first time at Canvas and Cocktails. I went with some friends who had been here before. We had been wanting to go for a while, but on more than one occasion, by the time we identified a painting we wanted to do, and picked a date, the class was full. We showed up a few minutes early on a Saturday morning. Several people were already there, and a bunch showed up right behind us. It took a little while to get checked in. They showed us where we would be sitting, got us some smocks, dropped off brushes, and we waited for the class to start. It was pretty packed (lots of nice people). It was mostly a younger crowd than I expected, but there was a lot of positive energy. My one real criticism would be that with this many people, it was a little hard to get a good view of the subject material.
As far as the rest goes, the staff was excellent. They were friendly, upbeat, and helpful. the instruction on the actual painting process was fine. The class included a free drink (mimosa, wine, or beer). I opted for the house Merlot and it was pretty decent. Extra drinks were only $ 3 for a healthy pour of wine, or $ 2 for a Coors Light (other beers may have been a bit more). All in all, I had a great time, and was happy with the instruction we received. And, I think my painting turned out pretty good as well.
