For years this place has been highly recommended. We grabbed lunch on our way through Cedarville and we were highly disappointed. Being in such close proximity to Lake Huron, we assumed that Whitefish sandwiches would be great choice. Unfortunately, it was not. The food was not good and it was incredibly over priced. We wish we would have waited to grab lunch in Hessel.

The burgers are awesome and are pre seasoned and individually cut and weighed. The same goes for the bison. The steak bites are phenomenal and are marinated for three days prior to serving. Though I may just another ticket that they have to serve I can tell that they put effort into their food before it leaves the grill or fryer and onto the plate.

Fast and friendly service. More than one vegetarian option. I ordered the southwest salad which had a crumbled black bean burger on top. I also ordered fried green beans as an appetizer(yum!) There are limited restaurant options in the area and this was one of the best we tried.

As advised by a local, we stuck with the burgers and fish, and all were pleased.

Typical UP Bar. The food was edible. The staff nice. If you’re hungry and not picky about your food, this is an ok place. The beer is cold.

Not thrilled with this place. Large menu, but noting our group had stood out as excellent, just plain ol edible food. Nothing we had was homemade all all purchased from a food supplier, even the dipping sauces. We had a salad, whitefish basket, a couple burgers, and a cheese steak sandwich. Burgers are frozen Gordon’s burgers or something, cheese steak had canned mushrooms on it on a Aunt Millies type roll, «homemade» french fries must have been the previous nights fries and redipped in the hot oil. It’s was all edible, but not many other choices in the area. I hope they decide to add some homemade stuff to the menu.

I finally got Perch. Bar but has a separate dining room. Up-north décor. Macaroni bites, fish bites, and fried green beans. Decent cheese steak. Good service. Definitely worth a return trip if we are in Les Cheneaux again.

The burgers aren’t the best I’ve ever had(finding the perfect burger is like finding the perfect pair of jeans), but they are consistently good, moist, and flavorful. So far best I’ve had in this area, so have been here three times thus far on visits. The ambience is wonderful though — the stone bar, the owner’s labradoodles peeking in the window, the signs in the women’s bathroom all make this place memorable and give it character. Sweet potato fries are great, so is perch sandwich. Doubt you’ll be disappointed.
