History

Established in 1994.

In 1967, I came to America, my passion for cooking began to flourish when I started working for «King George» in the Rockaways. Funny, in 1967, I only knew how to cook «Costa Rican food» because I had to cook for my brother Dennis and my sisters Eunice and Margarit, at that time, simple things like tuna fish salad and grilled cheese sandwiches were foreign to me. Soon after, I went to work for «Molly and Mike at Alexander’s» in Hewlett where I learned how to make the meanest «brisket»; later on came the now defunct «The Junior» were I introduced a different food concept.

The Stir Fried vegetables and Warm Salads began to spoil the taste buds of the elite of the Five Towns; finally in September of 1994: the well known «Cedarhurst Ave Café was born»

Here, at the Café, we treat you as a good friend not as just another customer, is a cozy, warm and friendly place where you can watch the «Today Show» in the morning while you «surf the net» in your wireless laptop as our courtesy to you
