I bought a new desk top 3 years ago-and I actually just joined Unilocal for this reason. Besides the power supply and battery having to be replaced-I just got it back from the FIFTH hard drive. The 2nd-out of warranty was quoted at $ 80-the bill to get it back was over $ 250. Three months later-out again, this time it was 3 weeks to get it back(Memorial Day excuse), a month later, again, another 3 weeks to get back(July 4th excuse) then 3 weeks later-the hard drive crashed again-this is the 4th HD-the 3rd from just between May and Aug. Each time the«warranty work» runs $ 50+. This time it took over 4 weeks(Labor Day excuse) to get back and the bill stated«requested new hard drive rather than refurbished» I have the receipt that I had purchased a NEW hard drive and after 5 times I was also charged for the recovery discs, which hadn’t been needed before(?), along with an upgrade he claimed I needed, which I never was asked about nor authorized. This bill was $ 137. It was also suggested I need a new motherboard and he suggested«selling it online when you get it back and I’ll sell you a new computer» The owner told me his former tech should have done that 3 years ago-uhh-the computer is only 3 years old and I purchased what he recommended. This time I get the computer back and no video, DVD/CD didn’t work, wasn’t recognizing hardware, other issues. I finally had to pay someone else to get everything working. He denied charging me every time, but I have invoices/emails and canceled checks from each time. I had called one time with a problem, which according to Microsoft support, it was either a hard drive or battery issue, both had been replaced and received a $ 50 bill for«flash player issues», when I questioned the bill, he said they never make mistakes(shortly after the HD crashed again). I also never received the keyboard and mouse which had been on the original invoice, along with the recovery discs that I apparently should have gotten and just recently had to pay(again) for. I have paid for this computer 3X over with all the repairs-mostly being«warranty»

Samsung contracted these guys to replace a chip in our DLPTV. The technician replaced the chip but afterward we noticed some issues with the projected image when the screen was dark. Not a huge deal, but it was clearly something that wasn’t there before. My wife had a heckuva time getting these guys back to look at the problem. After successfully blowing us off for about 4 months my wife called to see if they would do something about it. «Oh, I must have dropped the ball on that» was the response. We finally got the technician back out to look at it and he has no idea what the problem is. He was totally unhelpful and not particularly friendly. A terrible overall experience.
