History

Established in 1942.

Everyone wonders where the name Ced-Rel comes from. Since it is right outside of Cedar Rapids, IA that is what everyone assumes it is related to, but not really. A previous owners last name was Sedrel, as the story has been handed down, had a contest on what to call the Supper Club. A patron came up with Ced-Rel and the name stuck to this day. Then Pat Snyder bought Ced-Rel. In 2002, the Selzer Family bought Ced-Rel. Our famous Hostess Lu, has been working at Ced-Rel for 46 years. There is a lot of history at Ced-Rel, including getting busted with the «One-Arm Bandits» (Slot machines) when they were illegal. The Semi that ran off Hwy 30 and right into the front of Ced-Rel. It was a Key-Club at one time, the original door is the one that still invites our much appreciated customers in. There once was live music at Ced-Rel for that relaxing feel of sitting back and enjoying the evening and catching up with friends. We are hoping to bring this back in the fall of 2010.
