XO Nails & Spa

I have been to this salon about five times now. Every time I’ve been there I’ve had a horrible experience. I would only go when I was desperate and inpatient to drive anywhere that’s farther. Considering this salon is not even two minutes away from where I live.
The owner, which I didn’t even bother to learn her name. Is absolutely rude and very anti social. She just pays attention to the TV the whole time and is not attentive enough to my nails, like she should be.
She does a good job, but nothing to get excited over.
She’s very fast because she just wants to get rid of you and on to the next client.
The owners daughter is very sweet but doesn’t seem to be quite ready to be taking on clients. I’ve had two of my acrylics nails come off within only two weeks of having them done. It’s just a basic French polish that cost me $ 35? Complete waste of my money and time.
Being in the service industry and being the nice person I am, I still decide to always tip at least 20%, despite the crappy salon and disrespectful owner. I will NOT be back.

Another day, another great day at XO Nails. Loved my pedicure and my wife loved her «pink and white» nails plus pedicure. Still my favorite nail joint.

I have jumped from one nail salon to another since I moved here from Cali in 2012 until recently. I am happy to say that I have found my nail technician for my pedicures and her name is Mai. Mai is professional and so kind, pays close attention to detail and never rushes. I’ve moved further away from this place but I am willing to pass up nail salons closer to my home just to have Mai do my pedicures. Yup I think she is that good.

Coming from California we have really high expectations and the service I got was at a Hollywood level. MAI did an amazing job and put me to sleep. Their Organic products were awesome and I can’t even describe the massage I got from Mai. LOVED IT. TRY IT.

Alright, I’ve been to this salon about 10 times now… So I feel like I’ve gotten a good sense of what a «normal» experience is here. The first time I went to XO, Duke did my nails very well. After that I ended up either getting Nancy (the owner?)/her daughter.
Not once did I leave happy or feeling like my nails were good-​looking. I’m not sure if it’s because they determined that I’m not a valued customer based on my age. or what. A lot of times salons that are located in communities that have primarily middle aged people and older don’t give the same service to younger clients (just my experience). I’m a person that gets my nails done at least twice a month, and my toes done at least once. I’m always a respectful person, and I’m always understanding if a nail technician is just having an «off» day. That said, after the last experience I won’t ever be back. In the middle of the tech applying my acrylic fill, she tells me to let them dry in front of the fan (they dry right away, I’ve been getting acrylics for years and not once have I had to do this). So I’m thinking, she needs to go to the bathroom, etc. Nope. She left me there for twenty minutes without even an explanation, just to do a pedicure on another girl. This was a walk in customer, they didn’t have an appointment. She comes back, doesn’t apologize, just grabs my arms and pulls towards her (not gently) and starts filing. I have a high pain tolerance, but damn did this woman cut me up. Four fingers had bleeding cuticles. Maybe it’s because whatever was playing on the tv was very distracting for her? She continually looked up to watch while the file was on my nails. Again, no apology or acknowledgement. She left the gel so thick and uneven that my nails looked like I did them myself, left handed. She left gel and acrylic underneath and all over the sides. I wish I could say that it was just one experience, but it was every single time I went. Sigh, I really thought I found a good and convenient location. Oh well, I found a new salon. The new tech took one look at the job Nancy did and reassured me that I’d be taken care of from then on. Finally, I’m back to having good looking nails that last. I’ve never written a negative review, but this place truly deserves it.

I have been there twice since they opened under new management. The first time was in December of 2014 and the pedicure was awful. The owner was loud and constantly used vulgar language when talking to her friend who came in. The second time was in June 2015 and the pedicure was very good, however, I looked over to see an employee going through the another persons hair and picking things out of it. I don’t presume to know exactly what was going on, but it was enough that I will never go back.

I took my 10 year old grand daughter to have a mani/​pedi before the start of school tomorrow. I needed a fresh set of acrylics. So we called ahead to see if we could be fit in before closing and to check pricing. The price was great so we chose this location.
The lady who did my acrylics was tremendously rude. She was more interested in watching a Disney movie on the TV than talking to me. She was extremely rough when she filed my nails and harshly pinched my skin. Sadly, I will never go back. Her young son was there but he was polite.

I LOVE this nail place! I am SUPER PICKY! I’m always «that customer» at the nail salon… However Lihn does mine and she is super picky too, so they turn out perfect! Her mom Nancy is super funny and sweet she keeps the atmosphere family like! They welcome you with arms wide open and with wine I would highly recommend this place!

I didn’t care for this salon. The woman who did my pedicure was fine. The guy who seemed to be in charge didn’t do a good job on my nails. I got shilac and had him take the design off. They shouldn’t agree to do designs at all. They can’t do them. I have polish on my fingers. And on the very side of my nails he didn’t get polish. No attention to detail and it was too much I felt. Won’t go back. :(

I have been to many different salons in the last few years and I can say that this one has been the best. It was very clean and all of the staff were very friendly. Nancy did an amazing job on my nails and I’m a very picky customer, she even stayed late because it was the only time I could fit in. I will definitely be a return customer!

So, I am very picky about acrylics… So much that I never get them done, because I always hate them. Lol. I decided that I wanted to go get a pedicure and a set of acrylics… I LOVE this place. I suggest you not read the reviews before new management… I do not like long nails or thick ones… I’ll post a picture of the outcome… Love them! And I wish I would have taken a before picture so you could see what he had to work with lol! If I do not have acrylics on, I a nail bitter … So bad they bleed (yeah, gross, I know)
So happy! Plus, they ALL are super kind and friendly … Talkative… Love it. :)

I enjoyed the new ownership and new massage chairs. The staff is super easy to communicate with and prices are reasonable. My toes look great too!

Horrible service. I have a broken nail and I asked the tech not to touch it. Not only did she proceed to mess with it, she then cut my skin and attempted to paint over it. When I asked her to take it off since the nail wasn’t done growing out and I didn’t want the paint ON my skin when it did, she acted like what I asked was nuisance. I will never go here again.

I’ve gone here off and on for years. Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, free drinks, tv, magazines, good massage chairs. Reasonably priced and never too long of a wait as I never make an appointment.

Great massage while getting pedicure & manicure. Spent extra to get the more expensive nail polish, not sure what it is called, but after one week it is chipping. A bit disappointed about that but I am still happy with the overall experience. Loved that they are open till 7 on Saturday since I decided at 6 I wanted to go.

I’ve visited this salon about three times. On the first two visits, a male worked on my nails and he did a great job. If I only had him do my nails, I would keep going there.
On my last visit, however, a female did my nails and she was rushed and a bit sloppy. Also, I watched them offer a customer who came in right after me a drink. They didn’t offer me a drink. I want to be treated like every other customer. Greet me as warmly as the next. You might be surprised at who gives the best tips.

I got a pedicure and what was an attempt at a manicure.
Since my feet are a train wreck, and he did do a good job on the pedicure, I did give the guy a decent tip. But the overall experience was very stressful, and it should be relaxing.
In fact, I just removed the polish and am going to fix the uneven nails and then repaint after I finish this review.
There were challenges with communication, my massage chair did not work (and I got shrugged off when I told him), and when he did my manicure, instead of moving me from the pedi chair to a nail station, or him going from one side of my chair to another, he had me reach my hand across my body (uncomfortable).
This, plus a number of other things made this unpleasant.
Will not go back.

SHELLAC MANICURE — EPIC FAILURE
Please tell me I went in on a bad day. I opted for this location BECAUSE of the positive Unilocal reviews. I went in for a shellac manicure Friday afternoon. (I regularly go to US Spa off 183 — impeccable shellac manicures that last 3 weeks at least. However, I recently moved north to Cedar Park/​Leander)
There was no actual manicure. Sam (who is so friendly and genuine) was more worried about attending to the other potential customers than attending to my nails (and I would not label myself high maintenance in the slightest.). In fact, it was so horrendous I can guarantee that if the reviews here are honest, he was not paying attention. He did not trim the cuticles, cut, buff or file my nails…
The shellac color options are great though.
However, the lack of attention in general continued and minimal paint was applied. For shellac, it’s not about copious amounts of paint… But there needs to be enough applied to cover the nail!
Then the Unilocal check-​in, once activated, did not apply to manicures done on Fridays. Awesome to realize when it came time to pay. I ended up leaving him a $ 10 tip, not realizing how terrible my nails looked until I got to my car.
So today is Sunday — the paint has started to bend and peel off the overgrown cuticle I had anticipated the manicure to take care of. Less than 48 hours after getting a manicure that should last 3 WEEKS, my manicure has started to chip off.
Needless to say, For the first time ever I may go back and demand a refund.
After all this however, I MIGHT go back and try their pedicure. I have learned that you cannot judge the quality of a pedicure by the quality of the manicure and vice versa. I may be too hopeful… Wish me luck!

Absolutely best Nail salon! love going here. I have been going here for 5 years and I love it. They offer a vast array of services. I typically get the deluxe pedicure which is WELL worth the $ 10 extra.
They do a great massage and always make sure you are comfortable. The staff are very friendly.

We were seen immediately when we arrived for our appointment and right away we were offered something to drink, including wine.
For $ 35 dollars we opted for the deluxe pedi, which involved a scrub, clay mask, hot towels, etc… It was a full hour pedicure — they didn’t skimp on the massage one bit, and it was extremely relaxing. The experience was complemented by the relaxing non-​cheesy spa music (jazz, not elevator music «smooth jazz») and the massage chairs.
When I lived in Toronto, I frequented a spa that was hospital clean. Tools were auto-​claved and taken from their sterile packaging right in front of you. Footbaths were pipeless, and the place was white and always sparkling. Someone was always wandering around cleaning. Because of this, my standards for cleanliness are pretty high, and I can’t say that I felt XO was the cleanest experience. The tools definitely didn’t look like one time use, and they weren’t wrapped, so I have no idea how well they were cleaned. That being said, I’ve been to a few places in Texas, and they were no cleaner, so I guess unless you’re willing to pay fancy spa prices, that’s not something as easy to come by here.
I would definitely return to XO… the price was right, the staff was friendly and accommodating. They were quiet with us, because we were quiet, but with chattier customers, they were happy to talk – it’s nice that they are able to gauge their customers.
Overall great experience — just could up the cleanliness standards and appearance of the shop for that fifth star!
