Specialties

We specialize in Board Games, Miniature War Games, Role Playing Games, and Comics. We have plenty of play space available, with store demo games available for anybody to try. Our goal to create an atmosphere of fun, competitive play.

History

Established in 2011.

Four nerdy friends from the North Austin area decided in 2008 to live the dream and open a Comic Book and Game Store. Along the way a baby got added to the mix. Add a dash of love for old school Doctor Who, and Tenth Planet Games & Comics was born.

We opened in October of 2011 and have sought to become the première location for gaming and comics in the Cedar Park area. In that time we have build a friendly Magic the Gathering, RPG, and Warmachine community.

My husband and I came in here a few nights ago after dinner and were pleasantly surprised. We spent about an hour talking to Trevor ok well mainly my husband. And he got him up to speed on his favorite comic and pulled out a few to get him started and get back in the loop! I know with out a doubt we will be back soon to set up a subscription for him and maybe pick up a game or two

Got back into Magic in the spring of 2013. Tried this shop.
Really friendly staff and customers.
Granted on Magic tournament nights (Tuesdays and Fridays) the Magic players take over the back of the store, but it is the nicest bunch of Magic players I have ever met.
Best group of people in any Austin game store and I have played at a lot of the current Austin game stores. Staff does not tolerate obnoxious players. In fact the staff has banned certain players due to their behavior. Very kid friendly. If you are interested in magic the player community here will be happy to teach and help you. Adrian, James, and Gil are particularly helpful.
The regular crowd is very mature, very friendly. Not nears as sophomoric as many of the other venues around town.
The staff are excellent! Robert and Trevor especially so.
The store has become my third place.

Maybe it’s because I don’t play Magic or maybe it’s because I need bright and shiny things to hold my attention but Tenth Planet kinda bored me. I was in the store 10 minutes tops which is really all it took to look over their entire comic selection. Browsing is one of the best parts of comic book shopping and the option just isn’t here. There were lots of people playing Magic, probably a tournament based on the set-​up so if that’s your thing, this is probably your place.

Two owners, one nice the other not. Many bad experiences with uncaring half of the staff. Cheated in a card trade on my first visit. Many of the local players are snooty and rude. Events and prices are more expensive than the competition so I moved my business to a friendlier store and I’m much happier for the change.

Just your basic comicbook/​game store. But the staff there is EXTREMELY knowledgeable, friendly, and if they don’t have something, they can order it for you no problem. Not only that, but they have GREAT prices compared to other game/​comic book stores in the area. They also have a MUCH larger selection of dice sets than any other place I have seen.

This store is great. If it and everyone there (staff and patrons) weren’t so awesome I wouldn’t repeatedly drive all the way up here from downtown in rush hour traffic to play one of my favorite games. The only thing that could make this store any better is if they would open up a second one near my house.

The folks at Tenth Planet are super knowledgeable and nice — it’s the outstanding customer service that really makes this the best comics and games shop in the area. The inventory they stock and services they provide are top notch and they’re willing to go the extra mile to ensure a great experience.

My husband wanted to teach me how to play Magic the Gathering, so that we could have a new hobby together… and now he is OBSESSED! I’m really enjoying the experience, but I am a total noob. Thank goodness one of the owners, Robert, was there to explain some basics to me and help me pick out the perfect starter set. He didn’t even make me feel bad for asking for a «pretty» deck. When I’m ready to play people besides my husband I’ll be interested in going to some of the in-​shop Magic nights which are Friday and Saturday. Great new comic shop to call my headquarters.

I’m glad to see a comic and gaming store in Cedar Park. I stopped in for a brief look, but hope to go there often. They have a wide selection of comics and board games. They have a relatively small selection of RPGs, but they do have a good variety in that selection. It’s not just D&D. They have a decent amount of room and tables at the back of the store for actual gaming. There are two owners, and the one I spoke with seemed knowledgeable about the comics and games. Looks very promising.

This place is awesome! Lots of table space and scheduled events, with a focus in MTG card tournaments. Fun and polite customer service, and friendly atmosphere. Also very willing to place orders for you if they don’t have what you’re looking for specifically. I highly recommend!

Absolutely awesome staff. Everyone is very knowledgable and super cool about letting you hang out in the store to game. Tons of space for magic or war gaming, awesome stock of everything from board games to minis and everything in between.
I will definitely be back, a lot. Can’t wait for Friday night magic!
