Signature Eye Care

Sr. chu is awesome. I love this place. Their front staff are efficient. Their optometrists are excellent as well. We have been using signature eye care for almost 8 years and are very happy.

By far the best customer service I have experienced in a long time! I highly recommend this place. I went in as a first time customer getting a check up and I couldn’t have made any part of my visit better. Go check them out!

I recently moved here and I sent my family of 4 in to get our eyes checked. The staff is extremely nice. It was easy to make an appointment. My kids are 9 and 10. The staff made them feel comfortable. They are even looking forward to go back. All around a great place. They have a great selection for glasse, and they were quick to get them to me.

Had a great experience today! Every staff member was very helpful and personable. Dr. Lou was extremely professional and my husband and I throughly enjoyed hearing about his family. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you!

Very efficient and professional. James did an excellent job in the selection of our frames and lenses. He gave us what we needed and did not try to sell us the highest priced lenses. I highly recommend Signature Eye Care.

I had an appointment today with Dr. Dollar, and he was great! He was very friendly and knowledgable. He spent time making sure I understood everything and to answer my questions. Just like Dr. Chu, I highly recommend Dr. Dollar as well! And to add — all of the front desk staff is fantastic. Can’t go wrong with this office!

I found them on Unilocal and must say that I was not disappointed. Dr. Dollar took the time to work with me and suggest the best option for me to have the best vision with contacts. He really cared about my vision, I’m just mad that I’m just now finding them. I’m a client for life!!!

I went to Signature Eye Care yesterday as a new patient and definitely enjoyed my experience. Tracy brought me back and explained each machine thoroughly, which made it a breeze. An intern then came in to examine my eyes and find the correct strength for my contact lenses. She informed me that Dr Dollar would be in to confirm all of her findings. Very shortly after she finished Dr Dollar came in. He was very friendly. He examined my eyes as well and he came up with the same findings as the intern. He was very thorough in explaining everything to me. He even joked around a little which made me feel comfortable. My new lenses feel great! All around awesome experience! I would highly recommend seeing Dr Dollar.

I am so happy my husband and I found Dr. Dollar, at Signature Eye Care. The facility is clean, and welcoming, with ample parking. The front desk staff are always friendly and promptly greet you upon entry; they are also more than accommodating at fitting you in, even if last minute. Dr. Dollar is extremely thorough, and pays great attention to detail. His bedside manner is impeccable, never rushed, and as a patient, I truly feel he cares and listens to our needs.

Very modern building and equipment. They run a well oiled machine and feel a bit rushed at times, but Dr Dollar is incredibly thorough and personable.

I came to Signature Eye Care at the referral of a friend for contact lenses. I’ve had bad luck with optometrists figuring contacts that both help me see and don’t make me want to scratch out my eyeballs — it seemed this was too much to ask but you know sometimes you just want to wear sunglasses, or no glasses, so after 5 years of bad luck I decided to give it another go.
SO GLAD I CAME HERE.
The location is terribly inconvenient for me (i live in central austin) but when I called in to talk to them, the staff was so friendly and helpful, I felt safe going with my high maintenance request. It was worth the drive to arrive at the gorgeous, well-​wun office where I was quickly taken care of and offered coffee or water while I waited.
The wait wasn’t long. I was treated by Dr Lou and the current student (I forget her name) who spent an hour figuring out the right RX for me, and then going through 6 different kinds of contacts (brands/​rxs/​fits) to find the ones that worked best for me. They sent me home with a week’s supply of trials and a recommendation for allergy eyedrops to help the fit and my comfort. I am sometimes awkward about taking too much time but felt fine here because Dr Lou was so kind and patient. He kept saying, «We’re going to get it right, it takes time at first but that’s what we’ve got to do.» I have a recheck in a week to make sure they do, or to keep trying if they don’t.
I have an insurance that doesn’t cover eye exams, but with the coupon (that I forgot to print out, but they honored anyway!) the exam was still more reasonable than anywhere else I’ve ever gone — but for far, far better service.
(If you do have insurance, they seem quite skilled filing.)
There was nothing I didn’t like about my visit to Signature.

This is an amazing place! I went for the first time, the customer service reps were so helpful and Dr. Dollar was amazing! He took the time to talk and explain procedures and services.

So to start the experience, I called the day I needed to get in. They got me in not even 30 minutes later. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. They have lots of coupons on their website, so make sure you check before you go!

I had my appointment today, and am extremely happy with my experience at Signature Eye Care. The facilities are excellent, there’s plenty of parking and most importantly — the staff are top notch. Fast, friendly and efficient. My exam was mostly with Rachel who was very caring & thorough, followed up with a review of what was covered earlier with Rachel, by Dr. Lou. The exam was done using an array of equipment that not only check for vision issues, but also general health and eye related issues (like detecting high cholesterol which I have). After these various tests covering about 30 mins were completed, Rachel gave me the final calibration for an optimal outcome. All I can say is WOW! I never realized how lousy my vision had gotten, and forgotten what being able to see — really see — felt like.
Both Dr. Lou and Rachel were very professional, welcoming and eager to explain what was going on with my vision and eye health. My experience ended in a consultation at the eyewear area with James K. He was very friendly & knowledgeable, and made the new experience of shopping for glasses a lot easier. In closing, Dr. Lou is a cool, concerned & engaging dude. This practice is my go-​to place, it should be yours too!

Dr Chu is an exception physician. He carefully restored my eyes to health. I suffer from dry eyes and had very concerning blurred vision from it. He systematically worked to find the cause and dilegently followed up to make sure my eyes got better. Then moved me into contacts that realllllly improved my eye comfort and my eye sight.

WoW! From the moment you step into this establishment you know these people are serious about taking care of your eyesight. I had first heard of Signature Eye Care from a coworker that raved about them. So… I referred a good friend who was also thrilled with the service and professionalism of this small locally owned company. When it came time for me to get Lasik Eye Surgery done, I knew of no better business to entrust my vision than Signature Eye Care. I really appreciate the fact that Dr. Chu accompanied me to the Austin Eye Lasik Center, which seemed more for moral support and to have first hand knowledge of any issues with the operation. Their attention to detail and commitment to customer service should make this the obvious choice for all your eye care needs.

Another wonderful experience at Signature Eye Care! Dr. Chu was professional and took care of my needs. He was able to see what insurance I had and assessed what I really needed. Everyone knows that another pair of glasses or contacts would mean more revenue, but Dr. Chu showed that he truly cared about where I was. Don’t get me wrong, when I will need another pair of contacts I will be back, but Dr. Chu knows that I’m busy preparing and paying for a wedding.
An intern did my initial assessment, and Catherine did a great job. You can tell that Dr. Chu is not only giving the best care, but he is training the future of caring and knowledgable healthcare workers. My current eyeglasses were adjusted for a better fit. I didn’t bring in an eyeglass case, but I was given an extra as I left. Payment was simple. Nicole has been around for a long time, and I have always appreciated her personal care to whatever was happening to me. At one point, I thought my insurance changed and I wouldn’t be able to come any more. Thankfully Patty called me to check up on an appointment and was able to confirm that I could still continue coming to Signature Eye Care.
There are reasons I would drive past several different optometrists and 30 miles away from my house to get my eyes checked here. Their names are Dr. Chu, Dr. Lou, Dr. Dollar, Nicole, Patty, James, and more. .. I would trust them with my family any day — parents, grandparents, kids, grandkids.

*Tuesday*: I drove across town and waited an hour+ for installation of some new lenses. The tech comes out and tells me «the machine» messed the lenses up, so they’ll call in a week or so…
In my experience, machines do what they’re set up to do — people are the ones who set them up wrong. So… don’t blame «the machine»: take responsibility — and do something meaningful to make up for wasting the customer’s time…
Not good: 2 stars.
*Wednesday*: I got a call from Dr. Lui. After (apparently) seeing my Unilocal post they see this as an opportunity to talk internally. They are taking some responsibility, building some bridges, and taking steps.
Getting better: Upgrading to 3 stars.

I used to see Dr. Lou many years ago but moved away and just recently came back to Signature Eye Care. I could not see Dr. Lou as he didn’t take my insurance but Dr. Dollar does (kinda strange) Dr. Dollar gave me the same great experience I remember with Dr. Lou.
The office is clean, modern and the staff are very friendly. I arrived 20 minutes early and after signing in and filling out one quick form, they took me right back. Not only was there little wait time, but no part of the exam felt rushed. The doctor explained the results, answered any questions I had and he made recommendations without being pushy or trying to up-​sell me.
I have to say Signature Eye Care is the best experience I’ve had at an eye clinic. I will happily continue to make the drive from Austin to come here!
