Rapid Alterations

Got a pair of jeans hemmed here a few weeks back. No frills, just great service and a quick turnaround. Dropped off Monday at lunch, needed it back by Wednesday evening — it was done Tuesday afternoon. Quality of work was good. Wouldnt hesitate to use them again for future alteration needs

Very unhappy with the work they did! Four pairs of pants at $ 10 each and now I need to take them somewhere else to have them re-​hemmed:(

Last time here, recommended to my father and he dropped his jacket off 2 weeks ago for my sisters wedding this Sunday. Went in today (Friday) and still hasn’t even touched the jacket and told us to come back in a hour. So, she had the jacket for two weeks and then got it done in an hour? Definitely not impressed.

Rapid alterations was recommended to me, therefore I decided to give it a shot. I dropped it off Saturday and would be ready by Wednesday but turned over Tuesday. The few things that I did want to mention was that the dress hem was not as straight as it could have been but it worked. My pant that had cut and hemmed were perfect. My final critique was that they don’t press the garment after like most have done in the past, but had been years since I’ve had the need for alterations. When I brought garments home, the original wrinkles when I bought them were still there. Other than that, the staff was pleasant and measured the lengths rapidly.

Worst service imaginable. I brought a bridesmaid dress in for alteration. I needed the sleeves taken up a little and the dress taken in. I came back in to pick it up and could not get the dress on because the sleeves were now so tight. They said they would fix it. I went in after they were supposed to have fixed it, and there was not much difference. I still could not get onto my body the dress that was way too large when I brought it in. Today I went in for the third time, since the wedding is Saturday. It is still too small and the sleeves are overly snug. I was told it could not be let out since there was no more material. They said if I had the material they could do something. THEY ARE THE ONES WHO CUT THE MATERIAL OFF! Where was I now supposed to get it from? So now, three days before the wedding and over a month after taking it to them, I have a dress that is too tight, the arms are uneven from the shoddy work done, it smells like smoke and must from being in their shop, and I have a $ 330 dress that I paid $ 80 to have altered and instead had it massacred. They did not even offer to refund anything after ruining it. Do yourself a favor, and if you have anything but a basic hem to be done, find someone else.

I hate to give bad reviews to small local businesses, but I’ve taken a few items in a few times and on two separate occasions, when I brought in more than one piece, something didn’t get done. Both times they came back with the pins still in place where the alteration should have been done. The first time I took it back and they corrected it. The second time I didn’t catch it for a couple of weeks and lost the receipt. I didn’t bother. I just won’t go back.

The very first time I went here I was impressed. I needed my work pants hemmed, I came in on a Wednesday and needed them by Friday. I got a call on Thursday saying that my pants we’re ready! I tried them on perfect fit and the total was only about $ 10, how could it get any better?
Well obviously it doesn’t get better, I took a nice dress here to be altered for a wedding I was going to attend the next week, they told me it would be ready the day I needed it. The guy who had told me was rude and on his cell phone when he was talking to me. So I came in that Friday about 2 hours before I needed to be at the wedding. I picked up my dress and it WAS FORTY FRIGGIN DOLLARS! I didn’t bring in a formal dress, it was more of a Sunday church dress.
The alterations were so simple too, it was a hem on the skirt and alteration of the sleeves. I didn’t have time to argue, I went home an tried the dress in, I had brought it in to be altered because the traps on the dress were too long and in the back and didn’t cover my bra. When I went in to get it altered, the lady pinned it to wear my bra wasn’t showing, but when I got it and tried it on you could still see half of my bra! Why did I pay $ 40 for something my Mother could have done? Will not be going back to be over-​charged and not satisfied

These ladies are awesome. My husband came here very last minute in hopes that they would be able to shorten the sleeves of his new suit coat for an interview in the morning. Not only did they stop everything to help him (and even stayed after hours to do so) they were kind and very affordable. Thank you for your great, speedy work. We will definitely be back!

It’s been more than a year and we continue to use and love this tailor. Rapid Alterations is great! The staff is very knowledgable and their work is flawless. They were able to transform an old large wool coat into a modern, well-​fitted coat that I love!
We’ve only recently discovered Rapid Alterations but have already had 8 garments tailored or repaired. All of the work has been flawless and the staff is very friendly. We highly recommend!

I took a bridesmaid dress here for a simple alteration — the top part was a little big — and it took 5 weeks. I was a little concerned since I wouldn’t get the dress until right before the wedding, but I was told they couldn’t get it back to me any sooner. It ended up coming back really tight and I could barely breathe, but I had to make it work at that point.

I took my husband’s work shirts here for simple patches to be added to his shirts. They were very quick with getting them done and cost about $ 8 for two shirts which was ok in comparison to a lot of other places I have looked. However, after I picked them up and took them home I noticed the patches had been sewn on twice on one shirt and three times on the other shirt leaving holes and outlines of the patches making my husband’s shirts not wearable for work. I took them back to them and without any hesitation they said that if we buy new shirts they would pay for the shirts and move all the patches from each shirt and sew them to the new shirt. They fixed the problem quickly and the second time his work shirts looked amazing. I will definitely bring other items back to them since they rectified the problem so quickly and professionally. I mean everyone is human and can make mistakes.

Have been to the place a couple of times now and each time I leave more and more impressed. Nury and team have quickly and flawlessly altered a bridesmaid dress, jeans and dry clean only dress clothes. Very reasonable prices and super nice! Love this place!

I had a quick patch I needed put on, they took care of me while I waited and were really nice to all the customers who came in and out.
I will definitely be returning to these very nice folks and using them for future alterations.

Of course my daughter procrastinated on getting her prom dress altered. We called Rapid Alterations and she took the dress in on Weds night. They promised it to be done by May 7, for her May 10 prom. 2 days later. on Friday it was done. It fit perfectly and was done in 2 days!
The price was reasonable, the service much faster than expected and the dress is perfect.

I searched for someone to sew varsity patches on leather sleeves on my son’s letterman jacket. Several places quoted me outrageous prices and another refused to do it all together because it was too difficult. I went to Rapid alterations and they quoted me $ 40 to sew 5 patches. They did this job in 2 days. It came out very nice. They removed the lining to sew the patches and replaced it. I couldn’t even tell how they did this. Very talented and nice. The only thing I didn’t like was my navigation didnt direct me to the correct location. It is located by the big water tower next to the railroad tracks.

This place has saved me more times than I can count! My daughter is extremely petite (size 00) and in the last 2 years, I have had to take 4 different dresses (3 semi-​formal dresses and 1 concert band dress) to Nury for alterations.
Each time we had an alteration that had to be made, Nury took good care to ensure that my daughter’s dresses could be altered to fit her without changing the overall look of the dress. Each time, I came away with an EXTREMELY happy teenager!
Last year, I had to take my bridesmaids dress in for alterations. My dress came in at the bridal shop in Austin, 1 week before the wedding. I was shocked when I found that the dress (that I was measured for) was TOO BIG when I got it. Having had such wonderful service from Nury, I took it to her and she pinned my dress, showed me what was going to be taken in, and told me I could pick it up in 2 business days! I was pleasantly amazed by the quality of the work in such a quick turnaround time. Off to Florida I went for the wedding, confident in the dress I was wearing and in the quality of the alterations.
With such great workmanship, fair pricing, and a quick turnaround time, I will always refer my friends and family to see Nury and the folks at Rapid Alterations.

I had a great first experience with Rapid Alterations on N. Bell Blvd. I needed 3 long sleeve work shirts for my husband taken in along the sides and the volume of the sleeves. I needed it done overnight because he was traveling out of state and needed them. The employees were super nice about the short turnaround, did an excellent job on the alterations, and had them pressed and ready to go for pickup. I thought the price was very reasonable. I actually enjoy sewing myself and know how difficult it is. This was an excellent job with the sewing and customer service. I will definitely go again.

i absolutly LOVEthis place. I had 2 bridesmaid dresses that both needed to be approx. 6 sizes smaller… (size 16 but really i am a size 10). both dresses turned out AMAZING for less than 100 $!!!

This shop doesn’t seem like much from the outside, but the work is great and the owner is fantastic. She is very mindful and does very good work with a fast turnaround. Her prices are definitely fair.
In addition, she helped me fix something that had already been altered once and didn’t charge me the second time. THAT’S good business!
