Popeyes Chicken and Biscuits

So, I love me some Popeye’s. When I was a kid growing up in New Orleans, we had Popeye’s at least once a week, if not more often. We would even go to their corporate building every Christmas to see their outdoor displays. Needless to say, I LOVE Popeye’s…However this location is a hot mess!
The details:
–No matter what you order, it takes FOREVER to get it. It’s common to have to wait at least 10 – 15 minutes for your order. The fastest I have ever gotten my order was in 7 minutes. This goes for busy and non-​busy times. Don’t go if you are in a hurry.
–The staff is all over the place. I was there one time and all of the teenagers working were singing one of my favorite songs, «Move Bitch» by Ludacris. It’s a great song, however the numerous mentions of the word «Bitch» and the singing quality of the staff, and the lack of actually helping the line of people trying to get food, made for an uncomfortable atmosphere. The group of little old ladies at one table looked like they were about to have heart attacks. On other occasions, you see the staff in arguments in the back, goofing around instead of helping people in line, and just an over all lack of customer service most of the time. Every now and then you get a great person to help you, but don’t go in holding your breath.
–The food is hit or miss. Sometimes everything tastes great. Sometimes the chicken is extremely overcooked. Very inconsistent.
–The sides can be all over the place too. Sometimes you get full containers, sometimes they are ¾ or so filled.
–It’s hard to get stuff here too. The last few times I have been, I tried to order certain items and they were sold out. One time it was a dessert, one time it was their monthly special, one time it was a side. I understand stuff runs out, but seriously, it happens to me every time I am there. What’s up with that?!
So, it is a total gamble going to this Popeye’s. Go at your own risk.

We waited at the drive thru with one car ahead. The person working the drive told us hold on. We did so for 10 minutes as we grew impatient my husband walked into the building and he quickly walked out shortly saying «we cannot eat here» I looked inside to see a main with his dreads on the overheating chicken and asked why. He explained that the crew was speaking about food poisoning and how the last time they had gotten it was 2 days from a lunch he had eatten from their establishment! I’m 5 months pregnant today and wouldn’t wish that sickness on anyone ! We left after being trapped in the drive thru line another 5 minutes. We will NOT return please share this with your loved ones, and make the trip to another location and not this one !

Let’s start off by saying I waited 15 minutes to order. Placed my order for some chicken tenders and a loud voice blurted, «We don’t have chicken tenders». So now I’m stuck with cars behind me, and cars in front. Trapped for another 15 minutes. A total of 30 minutes and no chicken. Ironically this happened 2 weeks ago. That time I yelled at the manager and they miraculously located chicken tenders. So many places around me I WILL NEVER RETURN. This includes my yearly fried turkey on Thanksgiving. I will spread the word about this lousy Louisiana Chicken Chain.

Drive thru service was terrible and the food matched to boot. Popeye’s is a chain so you expect the food to be consistent no matter which one you go to. Wrong. Chicken didn’t have much flavor and definitely was not very spicy. The kid in the drive thru wasn’t very cordial either. Just moving to CP from New Orleans, it was nice to see this place close to our house. Unfortunately, it tasted nothing like the ones back in NOLA. Definitely won’t go back, which my arteries are probably thankful.

«Give me 10 orders of the Tuesday special… all spicy.» When I lived in cedar park, these words were spoken far too many times. I lived fairly close to this Popeyes and went there exclusively for the Tuesday special. When it comes to poultry, those who only eat white meat absolutely disgust me. Don’t get me wrong, white meat has its places, but nothing beats the juiciness of a two piece dark meat special from Popeyes. I almost always get my orders to go, but would occasionally eat in because this was possibly the cleanest fried chicken place ever! Additionally, people watching is awesome here. The staff here always handles the business well. Other Popeyes can be a total poop show inside.

While ordering, we said we wanted honey because we have been there before and haven’t gotten honey with our biscuit when it should come with every meal AND WE STILL DIDNT GET HONEY!!! And didn’t realize it till we were already home. Won’t be going back to that location.

Slow slow service despite hardly anyone being inside the restaurant. Not particularly clean either. After getting my 8 piece home, I was very upset to find no breast pieces, just thighs. Did NOT love that chicken from Popeyes!

This place is filthy my soda had a roach in it! I will never come here again. They also always get the orders wrong. They dont know what there doing. One day they told me they were out of chicken. How can you be out of chicken at a chicken place

Went here tonight for the first time. Very disappointed. Place was a disaster, they weren’t busy inside there was one table besides us. They got our food order wrong. Needless to say that will be our last time there!

Walked in. Ordered without incident. Were told 5 minutes. 15 minutes later no food and the lady behind us in line walked out with her order. We inquired, were told by the manager it would be right out. 10 min later no food we asked for a refund, it was immediately granted.

We all know what popeyes and aware of this chain taste like so I’m gonna omit the taste in the review.
Just reviewing the place and staff.
First of all my order took over 20 minutes! When they said it would take 7 minutes.
They were 4 young teenagers running the place and they were all very slow and didn’t have any urgency. I didn’t ever go there during the rush hour. I only had 2 customer infront of me. And the person that came after me who order more food then i did got their food first. I think they just forgot my order or something. Which restaurant who leave 4 kids who seems to be between 16~18 run the whole restaurant.
second is that this place was filthy. It seemed like this place was not cleaned for days or even weeks. There were flies flying around and I felt disgusted and I changed my order togo and left.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! DO NOT EAT HERE.

I love the food at popeyes but this location is just awful. He first time I went, I waited in line for over 20 minutes without being helped. Then, one of the employees walked up to the register, looked me in the eyes and CLOCKED OUT. She took a break when there was a line of people waiting to have their orders taken. Ridiculous. When I finally got my order taken, my whole meal was freezing cold. Awful service. Just atrocious.

After the 30 minute wait on my #6, I get it and it’s not the right order. never going to this Popeyes again and I recommend no one ever does.

Popeye’s has the ability to deliver excellent chicken, just mind blowingly good chicken, but this particular location is incapable of such a thing. Over the course of maybe 8 years I have gone to this location (on N Bell in Cedar Park) on and off and it is always a crap shoot. Using that analogy it is fair to say the house always wins because the chicken is almost always old, cool, and hard served by kids who couldn’t find their own asses with both hands managed by people who appear to have never worked in food service.
You very often will not receive a correct order, or items will be missing. The drive through is so slow as to make Whataburgers drive through look fast. Very often they are «out of chicken»… you read that right, and if you order anything other than chicken they will make you wait in the alley, nope, not a joke, or drive back around front where you will wait until you finally have to go inside only to find out they never made your order and all of this after generally waiting the better part of twenty minutes in the drive through.
It really is puzzling how this location is able to stay in business.
This may come off as harsh, but it is true. Read the other reviews. Like I said, Popeyes, as a company, has the ability to make really good chicken, but that is something that you categorically will not receive at this location.
I don’t know if the Popeyes in Austin are this routinely bad, I would hope not, sometimes you really just want a big mess of greasy good fried chicken and if you are in Cedar Park, the options are VERY limited.
All that being said, there is a new one opening behind the Randalls next to the car wash on Lakeline. I will give it a try once… ONCE… and see how it goes, but my time of giving the one on N Bell chance after chance to get chicken right is done. Never again.

Popeye’ food is always pretty good, but the service at this location in Cedar Park is abyssmal. We placed our order at 7:31 on a Tuesday night, and it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get two chicken breasts and 2 biscuits. YES, YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY 1 HOUR AND 15 MINUTES. They always get the orders ready for the drive through before the customers in the dining room. To this store’s credit they refunded our money back, and gave us some extra food, but come on man. This is my last time here.

Popeyes has always been my favorite fried chicken joint. Twice the staff here has made mistakes on my orders but they always make it right and go the extra mile to make sure I’m satisfied. Everyone I’ve interacted with there is also super friendly.

TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE!
Based on the reviews here, I’m not the only one who has had the same bad experience. The service here is so bad I’m seriously shocked the place is still running!
I’ve had 2 bad experiences here. I know… first time shame on you! Second time, shame on me! I should have just went with my instinct not to return to this place again. Trust me, lesson learned!
1^st bad experience: Ordered a mixed chicken family meal and half of the order was just drum sticks. The order was to-​go and unfortunately we did not realize this until we were back home (7 miles away from the place!). Called to complain (512−335−5104), no one answered just got the answering machine.
2^nd bad experience (12÷6÷14): Ordered a 12pc mixed chicken family meal which I paid approx $ 31. We ordered to-​go (why! SMH) and once again the order is wrong but even worse this time! They gave us an 8pc which should of been 12! And the other kicker, the «red beans and rice» had NO red beans, it was just rice!
Needless to say I was livid because this also meant I had to drive back to return everything. I called first to complain but again no one answered (surprise, surprise!). I made the dreadful trek back and when I explained the issue to the first employee he didn’t say sorry, he just said OK. Finally the manager (Ruben G.) steps up and calmly I explained in order to compensate for my troubles (for this time and the last time) I demanded a refund AND a new family meal. He refused, basically said I could either get the refund or a new meal. I insisted they needed to make things right by fulfilling my request. He was not willing to budge and his «I don’t care» attitude made things even worse! I lost it! I turned around to the customers in line behind me and warned them all about the crappy service they were about to experience and also showed them the «side of rice with NO BEANS». I paid $ 31 dollars for this?!!
HORRIBLE, DESPICABLE SERVICE! Whether you spend $ 5 or $ 31 it doesn’t matter! And because it is fast food is not an excuse to not treat the customer with disrespect. I have escalated this issue to corporate office (512−459−6519) and will go further if necessary.
I REPEAT! Do no waste your time or money here! And if you are willing to gamble, do not hesitate to complain and voice your concern/​issue. This type of bad service should not be allowed to continue!
Just go to Bush’s Chicken like I did after I received my refund. They have 4 of 5 stars with 59 reviews. That says alot!

Not on a dare. Waited twenty minutes in the drive thru and they gave us someone else’s order which of course we didn’t realize until we were miles away.

Always been a big Popeye’s fan. It’s one of the few fast-​food places I’ll eat at/​from. The sides are way better than most fast food places, as is the chicken. This location is kind of hidden in a strip mall, and has room for maybe two cars in the drive-​though before you are blocking traffic.
Still, the service was fast, the food was good (though obviously far from healthy) and from what I could tell, the inside looked clean (I could see an employee cleaning up).

3 strikes and you’re OUT!
Popeye’s has always been my favorite chicken restaurant. Not t this location. This is the only one where the food is horrible. Trip 1 was mediocre, 2 was bad, and 3^rd trip gave me food poisoning. Rather than 3^rd time’s a charm, 3^rd time’s food poisoning here.
All the reviews you read about health concerns, dirty, hostile, wrong orders, etc. are all on target. Avoid this place like the plague. Or maybe avoid this place or risk gettning the plague.
