I desperately wish I had read these reviews prior to bringing my laptop in. I had a very similar experience. I happened to read one good review and it says she only wrote it because the business owner asked her to! Ha! How is this guy in business? He’s so rude and unprofessional.
I brought my computer in to get rid of a virus. It took longer than he said it would plus it was more expensive. Had I known the final cost I would not have brought it in. I signed into my computer once at home and set up the wifi and it seemed to work fine. He did as I asked and put an antivirus program as well as Microsoft Office on it (just as it had pre-​virus). I will say at my first visit he was nice and friendly. A week later I turn it on and it’s completely corrupted and I can’t even get past the login screen. I bring it in. After a week I call… Not ready. Call again. I’ll call you when it’s ready… Wait another week and oh yeah it’s almost ready. I go to pick it up and I see there’s no antivirus. He installs it and I go back yet again to pick it up. Very inconvenient!
I then bring my computer home to see it doesn’t have Microsoft Office. I bring my computer back in and tell him «you didn’t put Office on here, my original computer had it». He freaks out first and yells something about infringement rights and how he wasn’t going to do it. I then get upset and say «excuse me???». His anger escalates to a scary, irate level and he starts shooing me out the door! He literally moved his hands in a shoo fly motion. Wow! And now here I am doing exactly as I told him I’d do… I am writing my very first bad review (ever) to tell people the same message I gave him as I was shooed out to door. «This is bad business.»
Unbelievably horrible experience.

After taking my laptop to Impulse and being asked to write a review, I was mortified at the Unilocal reviews I read on here… If I had seen these beforehand I would have never taken my laptop to this shop… BUT,
I had an excellent experience here! The owner was nothing but generous and helpful. My computer was ruined by multiple years worth of viruses and the owner saw the problem and completely fixed it! I’m 20 and in college so I didn’t have a lot of money to fix my laptop and the owner fixed mine at a fair price compared to all he other places I’ve called. He warned me of a higher price that would be necessary if my computer had more viruses than he expected but he never found more and was able to give me the original pricing (even though I agreed to pay the higher price). In addition, they fixed my laptop the day of and I was able to get it back to finish all my school work!
I think that the owner has seen past reviews and really has changed his way of business. I received excellent customer service here and I hope that others will read my review and consider going to his shop. If I ever have any other computer problems, I will for sure be taking it to this shop!

DO NOT BRING YOUR COMPUTER HERE. I took my MacBook Pro here when it crashed. They told me it would only take them a few days to diagnose it. It took them TWO WEEKS before they gave me any news. Then they told me it was a hard drive issue, so it would cost $ 400 to replace. I looked into it, and that seemed expensive. I tried to just take my computer and leave, and they asked me for a $ 30 diagnostic fee. I didn’t want to pay it because I was frustrated with them, and when I said, THE MANAGER LITERALLY YELLED AT ME. I am a 19 year old girl and he yelled in my face. So I just left. When I came back a few days later, resigned to pay the fee, he told me it was a $ 50 diagnostic fee… BUT THEY DIDNT DIAGNOSE ANYTHING?! (I would also later find out that they gave me the wrong charger back.)
I took it to apple, and it turns out it was my hard drive. They were able to tell me that within ten minutes and it was fixed within two days. It only cost $ 150.
The long and short of it is: THESE PEOPLE ARE INCOMPETENT, RUDE, and THEY WILL TRY TO RIP YOU OFF.

Zero Stars. As an Ambassador with three area Chambers of Commerce, I’ve frequented hundreds of businesses over the past twenty years. Unfortunately, this is the most unprofessional company I have ever done business with. I’m not sure how they have managed to get 44 negative reviews buried. Buyer beware. This many people CAN NOT be lying.

I took my laptop here after my husband had such a terrific experience 2 months earlier. Mine kept freezing up on me and I was desperate. I’m a realtor and use my computer ²⁴⁄₇ because it’s the lifeline to my business. The store owner was friendly and asked lots of questions in order to diagnose it. He said to give him a call the next afternoon. I called about 24 hours later and it was ready and for an extremely reasonable price. He said he spent a lot of time cleaning it and removing adware that I had inadvertently downloaded. I highly recommend this place!

DO NOT GO HERE! HE STOLE MY COMPUTER!
I had a laptop that I used for 6 years. It was getting old and I wanted him to quote my on how much it would cost to get the photos put on a disk. I dropped it off and he told me he would call with a cost before he started the work.
A couple a months went buy and I realized I never got a phone call. So I swing into the store and a young man was at the counter. I asked for my laptop and he had no clue of who I was and did not have my laptop. He told me to wait and not to worry, he would check and ask the owner.
I got a call about an hour later, and he was asking me to describe the computer and he said not to worry he would find it somewhere. I later and said he had good news and bad news. The good news was they found my computer, the bad news was is that they deleted my whole computer. He said that they had to hook it up to the main frame to fix it and for security had to erase my computer, including 6 YEARS OF ALL MY CHILDREN’S PHOTOS!!!
When I came into the store to pick up my «laptop», it WAS NOT EVEN MY LAPTOP!!! They handed me someone else’s. I told him that this was not my laptop. He said I could go back and look for it. I was so shocked at what I saw. There was piles of hundreds of laptops sitting on the ground and there was even more shoved on racks. Another area had laptops that were in pieces and disassembled. I could not find my computer. I went into the back room and the same thing. Hundreds of laptops that were not mine.
At this point I am upset and confronted the owner. He was so RUDE and did not care. He told me it was my fault and he has the right to sell my computer if I do not pay him. I let him know i dropped it off for a quote and there was not a bill for me to pay? He got irate and started yelling «Get out door, get out door». He was pointing at the door as he was walking towards me.
That was my HORRIBLE experience. I lost all of my photos and documentation for the past six years. He had not even a sliver of regret for what he did. This is a SHADY business and I WOULD NOT TRUST HIM WITH ANYTHING unless you want it STOLEN or DESTROYED.
I am sure he sold mine or gave it to someone else, like he handed me someone elses computer.
STAY AWAY!

Against my better judgement, I gave Impulse a shot despite reading all of the Unilocal reviews. (I had a couple of neighbors who said they had good experiences recently, so I figured I might as well try ‘em out.) Fortunately, I had a much better experience than some of the other reviewers with older reviews.
First of all, my [19 year old] daughter was using my laptop and downloaded something that messed up the computer horribly. After that, it would just run really really really obnoxiously slowly. I could barely boot up the machine – much less back up my data. I had all of my tax information and various other data for my small business. I didn’t want to lose anything, but I had no idea how to go about repairing any of this damage myself.
So, I did the logical thing, and I took my computer to the experts. Initially, I was uncomfortable with the store, however as soon as the shop-​owner greeted me, I felt at ease. It’s important to note that Impulse Computers is a mom-​and-​pop store, and the shop-​owner actually lives down the street. It felt nice doing business with somebody who has my community’s interests in mind. We talked about local issues and the endless perils of teenage daughters while he took a look at my computer. After a few minutes, he assured me that they could repair my computer, and he promised me that my machine would be ready by Thursday (I dropped it off on Tuesday.) I explained to him the sensitivity of the data, and he told me that I needn’t worry. We talked some more about the school district and about what we thought of Austin’s recent growth before I returned home to try to survive exclusively with cell phone internet for a couple of days.
On Wednesday, I get a voicemail from the store saying that my computer is ready for pickup. Skeptically, I head over to the store to see why they’re calling me one day early. When I arrive, the shop-​owner was nowhere in sight, but there was another gentleman there instead. Tom was equally personable and nice, and explained to me (kindly without using jargon,) what had happened to my computer. He had repaired the machine perfectly, with all of my previous data intact. He also made a back-​up for me in case anything ever happens again! It cost $ 60, but I would have gladly paid more for the kind, quick service I received.
One month later, my computer is continuing to run great, and I’m considering heading back to Impulse to buy a used computer for my youngest daughter to use. I would recommend Impulse to anyone concerned about their computer and their community. It means a lot to me to support my community by investing my money in businesses that will continue to use it locally.

BUYER BEWARE! I would give this business an F– in rating it overall. I am writing this after reading the other reviews and wishing I had read them before I ever decided to do business with Mr. Uroosh. Along with the accurate and negative reviews, the BBB has given Impulse Computers an «F» rating… that speaks volumes for how poorly this business is run on a regular basis.

I took a Dell Laptop, purchased a few years prior, in for repairs one year ago, on 9÷20÷11. Mr. Uroosh told me unequivocally, that «it would cost more to repair than to replace with a newer, better model.» Ok, I could live with that, and so he sold me a new Lenovo G560. He promised he «would provide excellent customer service and that if I had any problems «he would take care of them as no bigger company would do.» I fell for his promises, hook line and sinker. Of course he was nice, respectful, and helpful when he was selling me his product, but everything changed when I experienced product failure and took it back for repairs one year and two weeks later.
I met a completely different man, who treated me with disdain, disrespect, dishonesty and threatening behaviors. He immediately told me there «was nothing he could do to fix the broken hinge and cracked lower case of my $ 500 computer unless I paid for the parts.» He promised he would not charge me labor and only the cost of parts. When I asked if that was the best he could do, he emphatically said «YES». No offer to help with 2 week gap in warranty lapse, said no one would do any different (yet both Dell and HP have back dated warranties that were within a month of the purchase date.) He would not budge and was rude and curt in addition.
He called me 5 hours later to tell me it would cost $ 300 just for the parts. I was stunned, and told him I would be picking up my computer. When I arrived Mr. Uroosh was on the phone and my paperwork was sitting on the counter. I picked up my computer and when he didn’t get off the phone I went to pick up my paperwork. He snatched it out my hand before I could do a thing, and then began ranting and raving at me like a crazy person. I was shocked, and stunned to see him behaving so unprofessionally. He first refused to give me the paper with my name, phone number and repairs needed (outright would NOT give me his written estimate). Finally I talked him into copying my personal information to show proof I had taken it in there and on what date. He first said he had no copier, then when I pointed to the one behind him he conceded and finally copied it. This man continued to berate me as though I were a child, and told me «he was refusing to provide me repair service, no quote, and that I would be arrested if I were at Best Buy.» All this because I asked for my paperwork back!
I have never in my life been treated so poorly and in such a demeaning manner as Mr/​Uroosh treated me. As well, his customer service manners are exceedingly lacking, and his rigidity in refusing to help a good customer is no where to be found when I went to him for help. I have never purchased a computer that fell apart and the body cracked due to no fault of my own, in one year! That alone should have prompted him to meet me in the middle and try to help me get it repaired for less than $ 300. Later the same day took my Lenovo to another repair company (well known and very reputable in Austin). They quoted me $ 260 WITH LABOR, which told me Mr. Uroosh was not discounting labor at all. His demeanor when I went to pick up my computer was beyond reprehensible and I would tell everyone DON“T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
Mr. Uroosh runs the most unprofessional business I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. He takes horrible customer service to a whole new level. If you are thinking about buying, repairing or selling a computer or laptop to his store, take my advice and stay as far away as you can. On top of being dishonest, he is rude, aggressive, and threatening to his customers.

We’ve used Impulse computers for a number of things, and have always been very happy with the help and people. My wife bought a used computer there, and we were very happy with the help and knowledge. My daughter also dropped her iPOD, and given they are now working on Apple products, we had the screen replaced.
They’ve always been very up front with helping us make the right decisions, and are extremely courteous and helpful. They also do very good work. I don’t hesitate to take computer related items to Impluse Computers.
Also, this is a very nice local family who run the shop, and I’d rather take my business to a nice local family over a big computer retailer anyday. We’ve developed a nice relationship with the owner of the shop, and I trust him with my computer issues and questions.

Public Service Announcement… The owner, Urooj runs the most unprofessional business I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. He takes horrible customer service to a whole new level. If you are thinking about bringing in your computer or laptop to his store, take my free advice (you will thank me later) and stay as far away as you can. On top of being dishonest, he is even rude to his own employees. Need I say more?

Impulse is a fitting name for this place, they seem to do/​charge based on whatever impulse they’re having at the moment. I will never use this store again (nor do they want me back), here is what happened.
I brought an older laptop that was malfunctioning in for diagnostic on 2÷25÷11, along with a few newer parts I no longer needed to see if they would trade the diagnostic and repairs for the parts. The owner tells me not to worry, he will keep the parts until the next day and then call me with the cost of the repairs and how much he’ll take off for the parts. A week goes by with no call, and I come by on 3÷3÷11 to check on it. He says that the DC jack is messed up and that it will cost $ 150 to repair, but it’s probably not worth it. I agree that it’s not worth it, and ask if he could exchange the laptop itself for the diagnostic fee ($ 39.95). He in no uncertain terms agrees. I ask for my remaining parts back, but they can’t find all of them so I take what they can find and leave with the plan to come back the next day and get the rest of them (they need time to find them).
So I came back the next day (¾/​11), and the owner says he talked to his partner and the laptop is not worth enough to compensate him for the $ 39.95 diagnostic fee. He says I either have to pay him the fee, or bring in the other parts I had gotten back the previous day to compensate him. I reminded him that he had said the previous day that the laptop itself would be enough compensation, and he said «Forget about yesterday». I asked to speak to his «partner» and he said he wasn’t available. I said that this is no way to run a business, agreeing to something one day and going back on it. He had the gall to accuse ME of being greedy and telling me he has bills to pay, etc. He starts yelling at me, so I pick up the rest of my parts and start walking out and he tries to grab them and pull them out of my hands. I yank them back and leave, with him yelling that he’s gonna call the cops and to never come back as I leave. I told him to go ahead and call the cops and we could discuss this with them, but he went back inside — and no cops have showed up to discuss this with me… yet.
I can’t believe this guy would go back on what he said the day before and try to charge me money or take my stuff. This guy acts all like a good «neighborhood» business, but he’s really a jerk. A real business owner would either say «I need to check with my partner» if they’re not sure about something, or would eat the cost saying «since that’s what I told you, that’s what you get.» Don’t deal with him — ever! Let them go out of business, Cedar Park would be better off without them.
