Hunter Irrigation & Landscaping

We had a broken sprinkler head. We were able to schedule an appointment with a 1-​hour window, which they showed up exactly in the middle of. The sprinkler was fixed quickly, the price was good, and the service was very friendly. I wont hesitate to call Hunter Irrigation & Landscaping again

I called the number on their website and spoke to Alan. He told me to call their repairman Bob who would return my call and schedule an appointment to look at the work I needed done. Bob never returned my call. Must be nice to have so much work, there isn’t a need to return a customers calls. Oh well, I’ll go elsewhere.

I bought a new home in the spring of 2014. The builder skimped on the quality of the sod and also did a lousy job of installing it in my backyard. Compound that with no dedicated irrigation system and a drought-​ridden summer, and my backyard was beginning to look like a Baja 1000 race track.
After spending a summer hand-​watering my lawn just to keep it from the brink of total annihilation, I had enough of the time sink and the crazy water bills. I made some calls once winter subsided. Hunter Irrigation & Landscaping was hands down the most knowledgeable and affordable option locally. I don’t feel like a small fish in a big pond with these guys. Their customer service is awesome. We sealed the deal and setup a time to have them come out and install the «lawn defibrillator». The install went super smooth, only took one day and it was all done by hand (no machines tearing up your yard). Fast forward a few months and my lawn literally looks like I had new sod put in. Bermuda is some tough stuff!
If you don’t have a professional irrigation system in place and you care about your lawn, just dooooo et! You’ll thank Matt and Alan later.

Matt and Alan from Hunter Irrigation have gone WAY above and beyond with my new irrigation system.
Long story short:
I received quotes from over 10 companies (only highly rated businesses with a track record of excellence) and Hunter Irrigation was over 25% less than the next closest bid.
In addition to the massive cost savings (over $ 1,000), they’ve come out every time I had a question or concern that I wanted them to take a look at. My wife and I put in a garden a week after having them out, and Matt/​Alan (the owners) just left my house after putting in an add-​on so that the potted hibiscus we included in the garden will get watered as part of the drip system for the rest of our flowers. No more hand watering the plants for me!
Best of all — even though I offered to pay for this modification — Matt turned down my offer and said they’d do it free of charge. They didn’t even charge for a service call. This is over three months after my initial install, and during one of their busiest times of the year.
These guys care about their customers. They’ve gone above and beyond to make me happy, they installed a very efficient system (an important detail to me), they’ve been attentive to every question/​concern I had LONG after they received final payment for the job, and I have the peace of mind of a three year parts/​labor warranty which only one other competitor offered.
I was hesitant to hire them for the job given the massive price difference, and even put Alan/​Matt through the ringer pre-​sale with a ton of questions to make sure I was getting the same quality system with them as I would with the other guys quoting $ 4,000+.
In hindsight, my hesitation was completely unfounded. Hunter Irrigation has been outstanding all-​around. I will be a customer for life and refer all of my neighbors, friends, and loved ones in the area to them for any irrigation work.

They are definitely in business! Alan and Matt and crew just finished a 7-​zone sprinkler install in my new home. Took about two days which is average. But what was extraordinary is that they were able to accommodate my tight schedule. I was leaving town for a couple weeks and they did the install in spite of the rainy weather (luckily there was a two day dry spell — but the ground was very muddy!). Kudos to Hunter Irrigation. Irrigation system is very nice and coverage is perfect. 3-​year warranty. Price was competitive. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. The big question is… Who’s Aubrey?!

Called middle of the day on a Thursday. No answer, line went to out of service message.

Bummed out that they did not show up as scheduled. Took time off work to go over sprinkler repair needs. This was the second attempted appointment made. I have a Hunter brand sprinkler system and was hoping they would be the company to take care of my needs. I guess I need to look elsewhere. I hope this is an isolated incident.

We called Hunter Irrigation after seeing the reviews online. The phone call was answered quickly and they indicated that they would be willing to come out the NEXT day to see it.
When they came out, they were able to isolate, identify and fix the issue within 5 minutes. I was super impressed with the level of service and the attention to detail. I will definitely call on them again when I need any kind of Irrigation work done on our house.

I contacted Hunter Irrigation on a recommendation from a neighbor and I couldn’t be happier. Pre-​install, they came to my house and did a complete walk around and answered all of my questions and concerns. They also provided a very detailed quote which was on par with the other contractors I had contacted both in price and materials used. Install day was a breeze, the crew they brought out was experienced, professional and even better, the right number of laborers which made the install quick and efficient. All this might sound «normal» so where Hunter has really set themselves apart in my mind is the Post-​install customer care. We have had two sprinkler valves eaten by our new dog, they replaced these valves within 2 days without a question even though they were not technically covered by the warranty. To top it all off, they respond quickly to both phone and email messages! Thank you again for everything and I will absolutely recommend Hunter Irrigation in the future!

Local, small Cedar Park business that actually knows how to do business. Making an appointment was easy and the technician showed up when he was supposed to. He checked my sprinkler system, got my rain sensor working, repaired a broken sprinkler head and repaired my veggie garden drip hose all in under 1hour, exactly what they quoted me on the phone. Our lawn is ready for summer!
These guys really know what they are doing so they work quickly. The technician took time to answer our concerns and we will definitely call on them again.

Called Hunter as I uncovered a valve/​mainline smack dab under this area we were digging to prep for a patio. Talked to bob and understand how busy it is rt now. He came out w/​in a day or so to at least move it so we can finish that portion of project. Very nice man, effective, knowledgable, on time, and professional. He’s going to come back out to do a run through on all these new beds I hv and also existing ones.

Hunter Irrigation was recommended to me by my lawn service GrassWorks, and I was glad they did.
Matt took his time to explain how the system works and they tied my existing veggie garden drip system into controls.
Very quick response time when I needed them to come out to check on the roadside zone (it had some rocks that needed to be flushed out).
Pricewise by zone they were the best.

Hunter just finished installing a new irrigation system in our backyard in Round Rock I have a new D R Horton home so no irrigation, and we couldn’t be happier! The results look great — The team did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend his services. Very professional and gave me a detailed estimate with options. One thing in particular that set them apart was his responsiveness — he came the same day to give the estimate and answers every-​time I called with questions, even now that the job is done

I needed emergency assistance and they got to me very quickly. Bob was on time and was very thorough in meeting my sprinkler needs. They were very affordable and I highly recommend. Very professional too.

Yes, Matt did come out after I had emailed the office twice, with no response, and then messaged him directly. That was after my first review. The system works fine. I just felt like AFTER I paid them for the initial project, it was more of a hassle for them to assist me. I would have gladly paid for any non– warranty issues had I been instructed to do so. They were referred to me from a neighbor who used them.

Just had to call the guys, Matt and Alan out again to add extra heads due to some landscaping changes. They also adjusted everything to make sure my now mature landscaping is not blocking the heads. They had to move a few over out of the way of shrubs etc. Very courteous crew came out. quickly assessed our needs and had everything completed in a very timely manner. I’ve yet to ever have an issue with any of their original work. Always helpful, top quality products and I’m always dealing with the same guys. Kudos to a job well done. I’m always referring them to my neighbors in my new community!

I tried to do business with these guys, but after being stood up at a location for an appointment between 8:30 and 9:30 Saturday morning. I think I will reconsider. Love it when a vendor wastes a good part of my Saturday morning. As a side note I did get a call at 9:45 asking for directions because the address would not map quest. Which tells me:
1. They are not well organized. (I told the scheduling person that the address was not in Google or MapQuest, and gave detailed directions).
2. They most likely aren’t that punctual (if you are just looking up the address at 9:45 for a 8:30 — 9:30 meeting you are in my opinion 30 minutes behind)
3. Not respectfully of the time value of other. (when i have a 8:30 meeting, assuming I do not have an earlier meeting, I am there minimum 15min ahead).
These guys came highly recommended, may be an off day for them, I just don’t do business with people who cannot respect my time.

We called Hunter Irrigation because they seemed to have gotten great reviews. We needed someone to come out and service our system. It took a few days to get a call back but we understood because it was spring and they were probably busy.
After getting the call back we set an appointment with Calvin to come out and give us an estimate for the repairs and tune up.
When Calvin came out he asked how we found them and we told him «on the internet». Calvin said «Yeah, we got one bad review but that person was a difficult customer».
Calvin gave us an estimate and set an appointment for the following Monday. Me and my wife had to adjust our work schedules so we could be there while they worked on the system. They were a no show!!! We called Calvin two or three times with no call back to let us know what was going on. Finally I spoke with Matt who said he didn’t understand why they didn’t show up but he would call Calvin and then call me back. Nope, that never happened either. Two days later and no call back from anyone.
If this was the start of how the customer service was going to be I guess we lucked out. I just wish they would have at least told us that they didn’t want to do the job before we took off work to accommodate them.
Needless to say I won’t be calling them back and hope that no one else does.

I bought my house in Leander in 2007. I believe it was Allan that I dealt with but I could be wrong. They installed front and back yard, 11 zones, all for a reasonable price. During the first year I sabotaged a couple sprinkler heads with my edger and lawn mower. I called them up and asked them to fix them and let me know what I owe. They came out and fixed them for no charge. I annihilated another head the following year and same thing, came out and fixed it, no bill. I would recommend them, as they have taken care of my well past any obligation.

Left a message hoping they could service my irrigation system, but received no call back. Called again, and he answered, and asked me to call his repair guy directly. Is it too much trouble for him to manage his own employees/​contractors himself?
Left a message for the repair guy at the number given by the owner. Still no call back. Looking elsewhere now.
