Ghost Armor

I like iPhones, because I think they’re beautifully crafted pieces of art. Yes, yes, there are better phones out there with bigger screens and faster technology, but I just like the way an iPhone looks, and how it feels in my hand. If you’re a manly man type of guy, think of the last time you saw a particular car out of the blue and thought, «Wow.» That’s how I feel about iPhones.
And I’m certainly not going to argue about the protection and peace of mind a heavy duty iPhone case brings to the table, or at least when your phone falls off one. I mean seriously, how many times will someone ask, «Is that an Otterbox in your pants or are you happy to see me?» Yeah, right.
But I’m also mildly fascinated when I notice other iPhone users who eschew the Oppan hard case style, like me. And I’ll ponder briefly if they’re simply very confident people, or just careless fools. Whatevs. But I also think it’s silly not to protect your iPhone from everyday dings and scratches, and that’s where Ghost Armor comes in.
This original Arizona mail-​order company now has kiosks in malls all over the place, and for about $ 45, they make & install what I think is the best precut protective coating that consumers can buy commercially. And they’re serious about their lifetime guarantee: They replaced little decorative side strips of black carbon on my iPhone 4 when they started to peel after a year, and anytime I dropped by the kiosk because I happen to be in the mall, they made sure the film layer protecting the screen was always good to go. When I brought in my new gold 5s to Mr Garza to discuss the «Full Carbon Jacket» options available, he suggested, «Go with the all-​clear package on this one. You’ll want to see this phone.» Which is pretty much what I was thinking. A good call. Because I like looking at it.
