History

Established in 2014.

Danny’s Barber Shop is a local business 26 years in the making. Danny Mershon began his career at fast-​paced Fort Hood Military base in Killeen, Texas serving our military personnel for over 14 years and built his repertoire of skills cutting every type of hair and style imaginable. Ten years ago, Danny opened his first Barber shop, Barber & Beauty, in Cedar Park, Texas. As Barber & Beauty’s loyal customer base grew, additional barbers joined the team, remodeling took place to accommodate growth, but some things like parking space remained a challenge. When it became apparent that Barber & Beauty had outgrown its location near Cedar Park High School, the vision for Danny’s Barber Shop began.

Danny paired his 26 years of Barber experience and dreams for an upscale Barber Shop with his wife Tam’s creative enterprising and business background, and Voilà!, «Danny’s» was born.

Danny is a third generation barber and has been a business owner in the Cedar Park area for over 10 years (Barber & Beauty). He enjoys being a barber, as he is able to chat with his clients and meet new faces every day.

Danny spends his free time with family at the lake, following sports, and enjoys working out and playing basketball at the local recreation center.

Danny’s is a great spot & has a very convenient location for me. The nicest barbershop I’ve ever been to to be honest. Free wifi is a plus. The chairs are top quality & comfortable. I’m always greeted at the door & I’m always helped quickly. I’ve gone with David, Danny, & Jerry on separate occasions & they’ve all done an amazing job.

Ive been coming here since they opened. I switched from the «other» place down the street. This place by far and away is the best barber shop in the area. Nikki or Danny usually give me my cut, they do a outstanding job! The place is clean, and I’ve never waited more than 10 mins without an appointment.

They are so busy all the time and I’m sure with many repeat customers.
I’ve been sending my man here for his hair and a beard trim for at least a year. I like him looking dapper and Jerry does a great job of it.
I got my hair cut by Greg and I love it! He added some long layers and the whole experience was fabulous start to finish.

I’ve wanted to get my haircut at a barber shop for awhile, but usually end up going to a salon or a quick hair-​cut place chain. I’ve lived in Austin a year and a half, and usually only get my haircut every few months. My sister is a stylist back in Milwaukee so I’ve been trying to find a place to go around here.
I looked on Unilocal for a nice barbershop and found Danny’s. I live in NW Austin so this was an easy 15 minute drive. I walked in without an appointment on a Saturday morning last weekend and was immediately greeted by Gregory. He invited me over to his chair and I told him I was just looking for a cut — nothing specific!
Gregory was amazing. Aside from a really great cut, to which he took his time and did a fantastic job, the conversation we had was fun. I explained to him how I am moving back to Milwaukee over the holidays and that lead our conversation to discuss Austin, Milwaukee, relationships, dogs, etc. It was really comfortable and enjoyable.
While I’m quite the social guy, normally when I go in to get my haircut at other places, the conversation gets stale or awkward after awhile when there is nothing left to say. However, with Gregory, we didn’t skip a beat for the whole 30+ minutes I was in the chair. Even with a squawking little toddler next to us getting a cut (poor little guy!), Gregory was able to continue on.
I highly recommend checking this place out. I am sure all of the barbers are great, but I do recommend Gregory from first impression!

Great place to get your hair cut. As a new veteran (just got out of the Army) I can really appreciate a place where they support the troops. The military cuts are great and they have plenty to do while you wait. The staff seemed very friendly and the female who did my haircut was thorough and patient, not leaving any jacked up spots like some of the places on base would. A little steeper financially then what I am used to but for what comes with it in terms of service and entertainment, well worth it.

When I walked in I was amazed by the inside of the barbershop, and was thinking if its this nice inside and the reviews are good then I should get a pretty good haircut.
I waited maybe 10 minutes for name to get called and the gentleman that was about to cut my hair asked how I wanted my hair to be cut. I said low fade with a somewhat of a fohawk combed forward, and take an inch off the top. As I’m sitting there I’m looking across from me and there is a guy and a girl barber. The guy barber went through 3 men haircuts for the 30 – 40 minute haircut I got, and the lady had 2 customers which gave a horrible hi fade haircut to her first customer whom left a line that didn’t blend at all.
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! But the gentleman cutting my hair seemed confident and hands were steady. From afar I thought he was cutting my hair right. He even was doing the thinning of my side burns, which was surprising because most barbers do not know how to do them. Close to the end of the cut I started to realize he was using the clippers a little too high on my hair and then he started to use scissors on my «fade». At that time I remember my brother, a barber, had told me if there is anyone who uses scissors for a fade has not been a barber for long or not one a barber at all. I can feel him cutting the front of my hair shorter and shorter.
At the end he handed me the mirror and was like tell me what you think. I freaked out! No fade, hair was uneven, and no fohawk! I wanted to tell him just shave it off but I thought it’ll grow back by the end of month, and I’ll go back to my regular barber down South.
This place is not a barbershop this is a salon! People here DO NOT know how to do fades and one of them does not take his time to cut hair. To the owner of this place find actual barbers its a shame that no one knew how to do fades and its a barbershop!

Pops and Danny– the best haircuts ever, hands down! I wish I lived closer but I drive 30 mins to get a haircut by Pops or Danny.
Extremely nice staff and the place is always clean. The wait is usually under 10 mins. Vacuum hair clippers are awesome, less hair falling on your face, clothing, etc.
I have been going to Danny’s since the old location on El Salido, never a bad experience. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to get a great haircut at a great price.
Plenty of parking, numerous games while you wait, flat screens, and wifi.
Free lollipops too, lol.

Jessica at Danny’s is the BEST! She not only does a great job with my husband’s hair, but is the ONLY person my 13-​year old son will let touch his hair-​and that says a LOT! She listens and delivers, every time. And now she cuts my brother-​in-​law, nephew, and 3 neighbors and their sons!

I started visiting Danny’s old location almost 10 years ago. And now with his new location, I love his place even more. Danny and Pops are great people and the shop is laid back, clean and fun. Seriously, if you’re looking for a place to get your hair cut, this is where you should go.

I decided to try this place out because it was a Saturday and I couldn’t deal with the wait at Floyd’s again.
Went in for an Ivy League and a beard trim, and David Camacho did a great job. He took his time making sure all the angles and edges were exact. The TVs behind the chairs were a nice perk – got to watch basketball instead of staring at the row across from me.
Edit: a few days into this new cut, and I have to say I’m impressed with the beard trim. He really got it looking angular, where most other barbers leave it looking pretty rounded. Definitely going back.

Plain and simple; this is a barber shop, not a salon, that caters to men, not dudes, that is also family friendly. It’s not an oasis to escape the stress of work or family life, it’s just a place to get your hair cut, strike up a conversation, enjoy the sports and news on the flat screens while one waits for their turn on big comfy leather couches. Start up a game of pool, chess or shuffleboard as there’s plenty to do while you wait for your haircut. Oh, and ladies are also welcome at Danny’s.

I have been to a lot of barber shops in Austin and this one has to be the nicest one of all they have leather seats where you cut your hair. They also have a pool table and a very nice big screen TV right in front of where you sick. Aside from that I’d say the haircut was mediocre usually when I go into a barber shop I expect to be there at least 30 minutes to get everything done. From all my haircut experience I can’t say I trust a barber who gives a 15 minute haircut. Needless to say I will continue to search for the best barber shop in town.

My first visit to Danny’s today was awesome! It has been a long time since I have been satisfied with a cut that didn’t cost me more than $ 30. Jerry gave a great cut, shaped and trimmed my mountain man beard, and even went after my eyebrows, which are notorious for being party animals while I sleep. He also gave me a nice hot shave to the back of my neck.
The shop is classy and large. Not so cramped feeling like the chain places. Everyone was extremely nice. I walked in on Saturday morning around 930ish and waited for a little bit on the super comfy, leather couch, and watched the pregame sports highlights. If the TVs aren’t doing it for you, you can always setup a game of pool to pass the time while you wait.
Danny’s will definitely be my new regular place, can’t wait to go back. Those chain places always manage to butcher and chop my hair, and it takes me months to get it back to normal, and another month of hesitation that they will do it again. However, I’m excited to say I’ll be back in soon!

My first visit went very well! I’ve been in a classic mood lately, and I kinda wanted to visit an old timey barbershop and get a cut by a dapper gentleman, just because.
As it turns out, I got my wish! I went in and was greeted by the friendly Cassidy, who directed me to ‘Pops.’ I thought I misheard her, but sure enough, there was a dapper old gentleman!
Pops is a very cool guy, and he cut my hair exactly like I wanted it. Shaved on the sides and back, with a nice slick side-​part on top. He took his time with it, and it looked great. The seats were comfortable leather, and the place was very open and relaxing. For 20 bucks, I thought it was a great experience!
I got to talking with Pops. He served 22 years in the Army, being honorably discharged with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was drafted into Vietnam, which he didn’t speak much about, and then served as watch guard on the German border during the Cold War, which he spoke at length about. He has some very interesting stories and recollections (some funny, some sobering), so if you like history at all, you’ll really like him.
Danny’s definitely has that old school charm, while providing more modern amenities like football on big screen TVs. They’ve also got shuffleboard and some other games for people to play while they wait. I’ll definitely be coming here for my next cut!

This place is GREAT! I was at a different independent barber and just got tired of the bad customer service. The customer service (politeness, promptness, friendliness) was EXCEPTIONAL at Danny’s. It’s a great environment where they are able to maintain professionalism while still making your feel comfortable.
Aside from the great environment, they realize that the most important thing is a GREAT cut. Wow, the experience in this shop is at the highest level. These people know how to cut hair well.
I highly recommend you check them out.
